    CSN

by smokin on 2009-07-15The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

I must say it ranks right up there the venue was awesome we were left of the stage and I could see every note that Stills was playing I'll never be that close again it was jusst great. They played a Dead tune and a Stones tune to boot it was a unforgettable show thanks guy's for doin what you do. My only complaint is that I could not take my 10 year old son to see CSN because they changed the age limit at the Avalon ballroom to 19 Plus so they can get more people in the casino what a shame. He had seen the Doobie Brothers there and it was his first live show and really was bummed that couldn't go.But all in all it was a great show.

    CROSBY, STILLS AND NASH

Show was good, excellent venue for concert. Overall performance good, tickets pricey for 75 minute gig. Would recommend the show if you can afford it and in a theater-like setting.

    CSN shine without Young

by Adam12356 on 2009-07-14The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

Let me put my cards face up on the table. I must not be a good Canadian, because I don't like most of Neil Young's music, nor do I like the way he hijacks CSN's sound and relegates them to a backup band when they tour together. Now, having said that, you realize when you see CSN that the three members are fortunate to have found each other, because together they amount to much more than the sum of the parts. Each alone would have a difficult time maintaining the career longevity that these gents have enjoyed together. I had never gone to a casino concert before, so didn't know exactly what to expect. The show began at 8:30 pm sharp and ended at almost exactly 10:00 pm after encore. The theatre at Fallsview is almost intimate after seeing these guys at Massey Hall, Varsity Stadium, the ACC and Kingswood over the years. According to one statistic I read, the theatre seats 1,550 people. It is a good size and the acoustics were good. I brought binoculars, but didn't really need them. The show started with a couple of old favourites, "Helplessly Hoping" and "Marrakesh Express". There were a few surprises. CSN covered the Stone's Ruby Tuesday and a lesser known James Taylor song early in the show. They also didn't play some of the songs you might have expected. The woman beside me, Judy from Buffalo, was almost distraught that they didn't play "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes". They still played extensively from their back catalog, including "Wooden Ships", "Long Time Gone", "Deja Vu", and "Our House". The boys have aged. Crosby physically didn't seem to have a lot of stamina, but his voice is still sweet. Stills still plays a mean guitar, both acoustic and electric and he still has that great "white man blues voice", groomed by years of cigarettes, whisky and other illlicit ingredients. Nash has aged more gracefully than the other two but looks like everybody's favourite handsome uncle. The show ended with a rousing version of "Teach Your Children". Somewhere along the way, they seem to have gotten out of the habit of playing "Find the Cost of Freedom". All in all, it was a good dependable show, with enough twists to keep it interesting.

    dissapointed

by 222productions on 2009-07-14The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

I was unfortunately a little dissapointed in the show. It took a few songs before the sound man got it somewhat right. Some songs sounded great while others were not. On some songs, I heard Crosby drown out the other two. When you're dealing with a very harmonizing band, the balance has to be first rate. Also, it was a short concert. They never played their huge hits. I think I counted at least two or three songs that were written by other people. Why?

    Boring

by ConcertAl on 2009-07-14Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

Started concert by singing 4 or 5 songs from other groups. we were there to hear THEIR songs. Firts time ever that we left a concert before it was finished.

    CSN

by SALTYDOG on 2009-07-14The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

Great show.......small setting, fantasic views and great sound. Last saw them at ACC and the venue was just too big for their performance style. They knocked out their hits one after another and threw in a little Greatful Dead and Stones to boot! Disappointed with the Avalon Ballroom as they would not serve alcohol before, during or after the show.............it's a Casino for God's sake

    They still have great voices!

by SMMMJO on 2009-07-14The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

The event was a little short, but that was to be expected - given the more reasonable cost of the event and the small venue, it more than made up for it! They all still have fantastic voices and sang a few different tunes which made it a really fun event. Definitely worth seeing.
