About

DALLAS SMITH IN CONCERT:

Dallas Smith first rose to fame as the frontman of alternative rock band Default, but he's sure to rise even higher as a country rock solo artist. He's already earned comparisons to Keith Urban and Jason Aldean, and fans lucky enough to catch him live will have no trouble seeing why he's country's hottest new addition. Feel-good, hook-heavy anthems like "Trippin' Point" and "Slow Rollin'" are tailor-made for summer party soundtracks, and Smith delivers them perfectly at his live shows. A natural showman who delivers fast-paced, energetic performances, Smith never fails to have ticket buyers dancing in their boots all night long.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Vancouver-born Dallas Smith launched his music career as the frontman of post-grunge rock group Default, who enjoyed considerable success in the early '00s with their hit single "Wasting My Time". Despite the group's success, country music beckoned to Smith, and in 2012 he released his solo debut album Jumped Right In, a collection of guitar-driven country jams that landed five singles on the Canadian Hot 100. Smith racked up award nominations including Country Album of the Year at the 2013 Juno Awards and Male Artist of the Year, Single of the Year, and Album of the Year by the Canadian Country Music Association. If 2013 wasn't busy enough he also embarked on a sold-out Canadian tour with Bob Seger, played alongside Jason Aldean, and signed with Republic Nashville. His first U.S. single "Trippin' Point" was co-written by Florida Georgia Line's Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard and went platinum in Canada. Smith finished 2014 by touring with Florida Georgia Line and working on his highly anticipated sophomore album.

  • Amazing

Great venue, AMAZING performers. The seats on the floor are pretty tight together side by side and in between the rows... so you don’t have room to squeeze out past your neighbour. The seats are also very close together so if you neighbour is bigger there’s no space between you.

I was not impressed that I set times were not posted . We got there late under the impression that there would be more order to it . I worked late and I know it’s my fault but I would have loved to know that everyone was going on at 7:50

  • Awesome

by Steph on 2019-10-20Grey Eagle Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

This was an awesome concert, Dean Brody, Dallas Smith, Chad Brownlee, Mackenzie Porter and the Recklaws. The Recklaws opened the show and were so entertaining. Dean Brody and Dallas Smith singing together was worth the price of admission in itself. The only complaint I could have about this concert was that Chad Brownlee did not play long enough.

The concert was great, the sound was awesome, but I am handicapped and when people stood up all I could do was listen to the music I couldn't see the stage at all. Maybe this event needs to put the handicap people closer to the stage.

  • The show was a blast

by A on 2019-10-20Grey Eagle Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

The show was fantastic, the staff was amazing and helpful and friendly. The only thing that sucked was the stage isn’t high enough. Since it was reserved floor seating I watched 90% of the show on the screen because I couldn’t see the stage because of people in front of me and couldn’t move to where I could see because it was reserved seating. Other that that it was awesome.

  • Double Dynamite

by Bunny on 2019-10-20Grey Eagle Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

The show was fantastic and the way they laid out how all the different artists came out was brilliant and kept the show entertaining. Dean Brody and Dallas Smith were dynamite together

  • Great performers, rough sound quality

by K2 on 2019-10-20Grey Eagle Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 3 out of 5

I loved the energy and performances of all the sets. I liked how they all interacted with each other in various song sets. Had a great time dancing and enjoying the music! The sound quality was not great to be honest ( section 4 row P), don’t know if it’s the venue or the mixing.

  • Dallas Smith & Dean Brody

by Pheonix.Riding on 2019-10-20Grey Eagle Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the performances!! However disappointed Ticketmaster released better tickets a couple days after I bought seats beside the stage when I could have gotten them on the bleachers head into the performance. I had already called and changed them once for the RBC tickets which was a $10 per ticket charge for the same price seats. There was NO WAY I was going to pay again to switch. My 9 year old son couldn't see anything and for it being his first concert he didn't have any interest in going to another which is disappointing. Country Stars you rocked that venue!!! Ticketmaster Fail!

  • Incredible show!

by Jennifer on 2019-10-18SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

Dallas Smith puts on an incredible show, and while I'm not a huge fan of country music, The Reklaws, Dean Brody, and special appearances by Mackenzie Porter and Chad Brownlee made for an amazing show. You definitely want front row, they were reaching into the crowd for people's phones to take selfies.

  • Bathroom s

Awesome concert! Just wasnt happy to wait in line for ten mins during break to use bathroom on floor level area. Not enough stalls for the womens washroom.

  • Excellent show

by KG on 2019-10-18SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 4 out of 5

Show was amazing. All of the performers sounded great and interacted a lot with the crowd and each other. The only complaint was with the venue. They changed the sections around due to moving the stage but that wasn’t explained well so there was a lot of confusion about where people were supposed to be sitting.
