My second time seeing Danko Jones live at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver B.C. Once again Danko put on non stop, good time, rocking concert! Ticket price is affordable, the music rocks and the energy was fantastic. Will go again!

  • Danko awesome once again

by Anonymous on 2011-02-05THE CAPITAL MUSIC HALL - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

Once again Danko jones lived up to true rockn'roll form and rocked capital city music hall. There aren't many bands out there that are keeping hard core rockn'roll alive but Danko provides it all.......thank you Danko

  • Danko sweats blood.

This was the 6th Danko show I've attended. They have all of the makings of a pure Rock'n'roll band; energy, attitude, good sound, audience engagement and talent! SEE THEM.

The opening bands were a disappointment, but Danko Jones gave a great performanc. The commodore is a great venue but the static and feedback from the mic was annoying,

  • Danko is still one of the best.

I've seen Danko twice now.....once back in 2002 and now this show....both at small venues. This guy doesn't take a night off. There were only a couple hundred people at the Starlite room in Edmonton on a Tuesday nite, but he slayed us. Great show.....Danko is the man!

  • Show was Great, The Early Show Sucked

by SiriusGeek on 2010-05-23Venue - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

These guys are one of my favourite bands to see live. Danko Jones never fails to come to the show with amazing energy. If you were like me and had to travel to Vancouver to see them then you were probably disappointed with the early event. The concert would have been better at the Commodore; both bands could have played longer, and we could have partied till the wee hours. I had been waiting a long time to see Danko again so I am stoked to have seen them play, but next time I will consider where the show is being held before I purchase tickets. Danko Jones kicks ass, go see them.

  • Danko Jones Review

by twentyone on 2010-05-22Venue - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

We saw Danko Jones at Venue on Friday, and it was amazing. The club was well set up for concerts, had good circulation, and even though it was sold out, did not feel clausterphobic. It also had nice clean washrooms (ladies, you know what I mean). The band was energetic and got the crowd involved and dancing. The opening band was Demonica, and they were also great and had a good energy. Some would be disappointed at the early start, but it worked out great for me. The price point was incredible for such a seasoned artist. Overall I had a great time, and I would look forward to seeing either band again, or going back to Venue.

  • Danko is strong again, as usual!

by mikw on 2010-05-22Venue - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Hard-hitting, straight-up, rock and roll with Danko! His expressions, humour and intensity are always above par. We've seen him 5 times in the last 5 years and I'd say he was a bit tired last night... Still I was not disappointed! Rock on, DJ!

  • Intense

Hadn't seen Danko since 2001, thought it was about time since back then he rocked it so hard I never forgot that night (w/ Andrew W K no less!). The Starlight Room was perfect for him, his opening act was GREAT (music was killer and lead singer was a really hot chick, can't remember their name unfortunately, I'd give em a plug). Usually I gloss over openers that I've never heard but this group rocked it. Shortly after when Danko took the stage it only took about two songs in before I felt I was 10 years younger again! His music rocks, he doesnt stop for a spilt second for a breather, he knows his crowds and his towns, and the band as a whole is the definition of intensity... By the sixth song all band members were soaked, crowd was rockin it hard too. Anyone who's seen this band before alreay knows this but for anyone out there who hasnt seen him LIVE do yourself a favour and go for it. He's one of those well-kept secrets that need to be let out. And the music rocks too. I won't wait another 10 years to see these kats again. My wife and I were just comparing to the last few shows we went to (Zombie/Cooper, G N R - I know he opened but we missed it, Motorhead + Reverend Horton Heat) and this way better than any of them so far (OK I lied, about even with Motorhead/Rev Heat). Different but its all GOOD STUFF

  • Danko is 2 cool

    by Toolfan29 on 2010-05-19The Starlite Room - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

I watched at a very small venue in Edmonton, perfect for seeing all his mannerisms, tons of stage energy for all band members, sound quality and vocals were 90% identical to the album recordings, some other bands don't sound good when performing live, but these guys pull it off nicely

  • DANKO ROCKS!

What a show last night; It was Loud and sweaty! Danko rocks.

  • First Danko show but definitely not the last...

by Anonymous on 2010-05-13Mod Club Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This show was the finest example of hard-working, super-talented, pure hard rockers I've experienced in some years. And the crowd was reflective of this; rammed to the doors. I was surprised at the attendance intially but soon discovered why we all came out on a rainy Tuesday night - the show was a blast, worth every penny. Unlike other rock shows, the set list was dialed all the way up to 11 from start to finish - no ballads or low-key tunes to be found. The trio sounded similar to their recorded tracks but different enough to know it was a live performance. I am now a lifelong fan of this group and will be sure to see them every time they're in town!

  • danko is electric live!

if you are considering going to a danko jones show, buy your ticket now. if you want to see energy and an awesome stage presence while rocking out some of the best canadian rock music of the past decade. This is the band to see. i had high expectations for this show as i have watched many youtube videos of danko jones and wondered if his energy can be translated to the live experience. My expectations were exceeded greatly and he is exhausting just to watch belting out song after song. You will need an energy drink. i have been a fan for 9 years of danko jones but let me tell you i will be one of the first to buy a ticket and tell 5 of my friends the next time he is in toronto. Maybe next time he can rock out massey hall! The mod club was an awesome facility to hear this canadian rock wonder live. Are you crazy? buy your ticket now!
