    Hall and Oates were excellent

by becky49 on 2011-06-25Sound Board at MotorCity Casino Hotel - Detroit

the entire concert was wonderful. I could have listened to them all night long. They had 2 encores after a 1 hour concert, but the crowd could have enjoyed a lot more songs. Their voices are as good as they were when they recorded many, many years ago. Pure entertainment and thoroughly enjoyable evening

    amazing performance

by Klumi on 2010-12-07Beacon Theatre - New York

New musician amazing - arrangement great - choice of song great - Concert could have been longer ! and I would have prefer Hall & Oates song at the end instead of Christmas songs. But it is always super great to see Hall & Oates again and again -

H&O - Love, Love, Love Them

by Anonymous on 2010-10-04Los Angeles County Fair - Pomona

Great concert....outdoors in Pomona on a beautiful Friday night. H&O didn't disappoint and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Considering I've seen them a number of times, I knew it would be good.

    hall & oates disapointing

by ojadedone on 2010-10-03River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

Although they covered all the material one hoped for,and the energy was good, the overall sound quality was not good at all. I could not make out the lyrics very well and the whole show was just over produced. I ended up putting some rolled up tissue in my ears to take the edge off. We sat in upper centre area, and we are not over 50, in case that matters. They seemed like they were in a hurray to get the H out of there. Was not worth the $85. I was happy to get the H outta there in the end, too. Go back to studio sound - I will stick to their recordings.

    Blast from past!

by AH1974 on 2010-09-29River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

Awesome! Although I wasn't listening to radio in 70's and early 80's, knew most of songs like Maneater, and did all good ones. That's what I judge a show by! So good 4/5. Look good for their 60's, Daryl Hall has awesome voice!

    Great concert

by Ange54 on 2010-09-28River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

My husband and I enjoyed everything about this event. The music was well chosen and well performed. The audience was mature and attentive. It was nice to see people dancing in front of the stage again!

    Great memories, OK concert

by dfanthem on 2010-09-27River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

Sound was terrible, had feedback half a dozen times and Darryl Hall seemed to be gesturing to the techies an awful lot. Sang all their hits which was great.

Hall and Oates deliver the hits!

by Anonymous on 2010-09-27River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

Been a huge H&O fan for years so to have the opp to see them before they retire (?) was great. They delivered all the hits one would expect and then some. Really a shame the guy in charge of the sound could not get it right the whole show! You could see the frustration on Daryl Hall's face. Hopefully they roasted this guy right after the show!

    Amazing but too short!

by Totofan on 2010-09-27River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

And I'm talking about the concert, not the performers... There was nothing to complain about other than the length of the show. These guys were fantastic but since it's not a 'high' energy show (like AC/DC, RUSH, or Iron Maiden), the crowd was left wondering why they could only pull off 13 or so tunes. The numbers they did perform were flawless, sounding very much like they did 'back in the day'. Hall & Oates don't look much different than they did a few decades ago. That, coupled with their great sound made for a very entertaining evening, bringing back lots of fine memories to the sold-out crowd.

still hot after all these years!

by ChrissieC on 2010-09-26River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

It's been a long long time since I saw Hall and Oates live (last time was Montreal in the 80s), and sure, Daryl's not hitting those high notes, but OMG, he's as hot as ever! What a fantastic evening, everything i hoped for and more! So nice to be able to stand by the stage, up close, and feel the energy of their performance. The band was terrific, and I was so happy to see Charlie on the sax again! one last word, Daryl, you've still got it!!!!

Hall and Oates still have it

by Fancy1 on 2010-09-26River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

There's so much to admire about this duo. They have become famous not just for their hits, but more recently they have been singing Motown and old Philly songs live. I was hoping that they would take a break from their hits and perform some of the old songs for I love when Daryl shows us why he's one of the finest vocalists of our time. They stuck to their hits. I was a little disappointed. But I have supported them since the very beginning, and I'll continue to support them till the very end.

    Hall & Oates in Vancouver

by letterdude on 2010-09-26River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

I've always been a fan of this "blue-eyed soul" duo and jumped at the opportunity to catch their tour. I'm glad that I picked up tickets early, as the venue was standing room only! Great show and fans will recognize every song. Daryl Hall's vocals, while still in awesome form, started off too loud. After a couple of songs and some minor "glitch-work", everything sounded great. Really...they had the entire place eatin' out of the palms of their hands! Fantastic band with them, too.

    Still great, still professional,

by Acemeister79 on 2010-09-26River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

Well, this is the sixth concert with H&O (oh the shame, but not a groupie! - just a fan of great music) - and they never fail to deliver. I'm kind of torn after this one - as they did a very compact set (with two encores, we were out of there in 91 minutes) with the standard hits that most casual fans want to here... On the other hand, John did not do any song with him as lead vocal - yes, Daryl has a legendary voice, but John's tones should not always be relegated to backup vocals. And for a true fan, the same top 40 stuff - although done to perfection either as an evolved hit song or with some instrumental jamming - does result in a little wishful thinking. Truth be known, the before show audio (all from Live at Daryl's house), with jams and obscure songs, would have been more preferable to many of their hits. How about It's Uncanny, How Does it Feel to Be Back, Italian Girls, or newer ones - Promise Ain't Enough, Getaway Car, or the remakes of I Can Dream About You or Ooh Child. These guys have SO many great songs that weren't singles - it is a real shame that their concert just redoes the same hits. But that's probably what the people want... I've been spoiled because my first H&O concert was in the mid-80's - acoustic Starting All Over, and two years ago they had an amazing string quartet with them (which made for a great version of Daryl's Dreamtime, not to mention the best ever Wait for Me and incredible segues between songs. Long rambling short - last night's concert was great - but more for casual fans. It was also a short set, but I've been to McCartney and the Eagles lately (with their 2 1/2 or 3 hour marathons). I can understand a quality 90 minute set - but also can wish for more... If you haven't seen them live - go do it. It is worth a drive or flight - they are in the same pantheon as all the greats. I'm a big fan - but that's why what should be amazing for most people comes highly recommended for me.

    great concert but short

by celestino on 2010-09-26River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

I enjoyed the concert since they sung all hit songs but was not satisfied with a 1 hour fifteen minute concert. Too short i think.

    Mourning a loss?

by Marie441 on 2010-09-26River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

This is the 4th time that I have seen them play and it was the worst. There were about 5 rounds of feedback and Daryl kept having to mouth and sign language to a tech for "adjustments". I later read that they lost their bass player of about 30 years, only at the end of Feb. This may explain why they had some technical struggles and the mood. I felt like they were more going through the motions, compared with previous concerts. They are still good and I will go to see them again, but it was a bit of a letdown compared to their other shows.

Daryl Hall and John Oates are still on top!

by tooyoungat57 on 2010-09-26River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

Daryl Hall's voice is still amazing with an artistic range that captivates. His musical talent is pure genius as he plays guitars and keyboard with ease and compassion. John Oates on lead guitar is appealing and relaxed and his smile is captivating. The band combined has a tremendous amount of musical talent and audience appeal. The musician on saxaphone was so entertaining and unique!
