    David Gilmour Toronto 2016

by ggss on 2016-04-04Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Excellent concert. Love the fact he played 14 Pink Floyd tunes and played them well. The sound guys must have sound checked for hours, the sound was absolutely awesome. Bravo. I would have rated this higher except I really didn't like my seats.

David Gilmour Live 2016 - March 31 Air Canada Cent

by filanick on 2016-04-04Air Canada Centre - Toronto

The concert with David Gilmour exceeded my expectations. Gilmour played a variety of new and old. I was surprised to hear ‘Astronomy Domine’ and ‘Fat Old Sun’ along with ‘Rattle That Lock’ and ‘The Blue’. Gilmour has not lost his technique on guitar and his voice was reminiscent of his singing from 40 years ago. Always, an amazing, Gilmour’s guitar is not in the notes that he plays, but in the notes which he does not. ‘Shine on You Crazy Diamond’ gave me the chills. ‘Comfortably Numb’, ‘Time’, with ‘Breathe Reprise’ were an spectacular encore. And the icing on the concert, was the amazing show. Unlike many musicians who without visuals would not have a concert, Gilmour’s talent does not require them, but being the professional, as always made sure that fans were not disappointed. Amazing Talent! Amazing Concert! Amazing Time!

Sounds the same as he did back in the early 70''s, quality performance unlike some other aging rock stars, absolutely phenomonal

A lot of solo stuff, a lot of Floyd

by Dartley on 2016-04-03Air Canada Centre - Toronto

You can't expect him to not cover his solo stuff (new album) as that is why he is touring! Concert is a slow burn as Dave's material is a lot about mood and not about getting you out of your seats dancing! He of course performed a lot of touchstone Floyd tunes throughout the show with the big signature numbers saved for the end. He played over two hours plus a two song encore with a 15 minute intermission. Band was great as was Dave. Sound was tubby (muddy bass) which is normal for the ACC, no better nor worse than any of the other two-dozen plus concerts I have seen there. Light show and visuals were very good. If your into Floyd and into great guitar players then you should of been there as I doubt there will be many more chances to catch him live!

    Exceeded Significantly High Expectations!

by JoeAnonymous on 2016-04-03Air Canada Centre - Toronto

David Gilmour beyond exceeded the high expectations that I arrived to ACC with. And, truthfully, this came as no surprise. Incredible band. Incredible (historical) set. It has been almost 30 years since I last heard David Gilmour play. Too many years in between. Until this concert, I had always held Robert Fripp and Eric Clapton as my favorite "best" guitarists. That all changed March 31! David Gilmour is on top of this mountain!! To those of you who missed the show, wish your were here to hear.

Best show I've ever been to

by Jerryc on 2016-04-03Air Canada Center - Toronto

I've been going to shows for 35 years. In that time I've seen some pretty amazing shows. This show didn't raise the bar, it moved the bar to the Dark Side of the Moon. Gilmour is a true master of the guitar. Excellent visuals, combined with amazing musicians (alas, I mourn the passing of Rick Wright, he's a keyboardist who just cannot be replaced). I was 3rd row dead center in front of David, so there were maybe a handful of better seats in the venue than I had, so I felt truly blessed, and what a blessing it was! It takes a lot to surpass being front row for the likes of The Rolling Stones and KISS, but this blew all of those experiences right out of the water. The sound was clean, the crowd was great (no drunken fools next to me) and the show......... one word WOW!!!! If you have an opportunity to see this tour, don't hesitate. Ignore the ticket cost, get the best ticket that money can buy, it is a memory that is truly worth it. I would've purchased the ticket at twice the price in a heartbeat.

    David Gilmour was amazing!!!

by Scootz on 2016-04-03Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Knew David Gilmur was a great guartist, but he was amazing! Every member of the band was top notch. Great set list and variety from the Floyd days and his solo works.

David Gilmour left me Comfortable Numb

by Zot123 on 2016-04-03Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Several thousand close friends were invited over to David's house to kick back and listen to many great tunes we all loved from the past. Sprinkled within the old were songs David shared from his recent gathering of highly talented musical friends. They fit perfectly as if they were already a classic pair of slippers. The entire evening was magical! David didn't say much for he knew his music spoke for all of us. We all left David's house together with the warmth of David's gracious hospitality feeling comfortably numb from experiencing one the best evenings we have ever had in our entire lives. It was unanimous in hoping we all get invited back very soon!

    Gilmour Guitar God

by buffalodoc on 2016-04-03Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Superb show, reached back to his early Floyd with Astronomy Domine to his current Rattle that Lock release. Band was great too. At 70, this might be the last time to see him in concert live, and he did not disappoint. Solos were phenomenal, sound very good for the ACC as well. Overall, a fantastic night!

I felt more than just Comfortably Numb

by canadianguy123 on 2016-04-03Air Canada Centre - Toronto

I had High Hopes for this show, and it was really a matter of Time to see if I would get what I wanted. , but What Do You Want From Me, I knew I was going to enjoy the show, and with all that excitement I just had to Stay Calm and remember to Breathe. I spent my Money on something and expected that Today I would get what I wanted after waiting so many years to see this icon. Yes, he was the focus of the night even while the stage bathed in all The Blue light. Music speaks the same language In Any Tongue..and we were all multilingual at that moment. Iand at that moment it was all about Us And Them anticipating a journey across the sea of music. David was the ship's captain welcoming us aboard his guitar as A Boat Lies Waiting to depart.. . There were most likely many who wanted to attend this show and couldn't, and I Wish You Were Here but you weren't so we all enjoyed this show for you all. The audience was singing every word, I saw no Faces Of Stone at all, but if there were any they must have been Coming Back To Life listening to David make that guitar sing and cry. I. for one, enjoyed this show and would go again and again, which I did. I went March 31 and April 1, this time with a single ticket. The show would Shine On twice in one week just for me. The lighting effects were like stars of Astronomy reflecting the light from that Fat Old Sun.as the music played louder and we all bobbed and moved including the two rows down with The Girl In The Yellow Dress. how could anybody feel any Sorrow at this show. it was raw, emotional and outright amazing. In conclusion if you want to get tickets you Better Run Like Hell because the best seats will always sell out fast. But no matter what you decide you must put a avid Gilmour show on your bucket list. . it is one the event which cures what ails you when you are ticking away the moments of a dull day as his music would does for me at 5 A.M.

    The Amazing David Gilmour

    by Roddy53 on 2016-03-30The Forum - Inglewood

Flew from Edmonton to LA to see David's Rattle That Lock show! Really wanted to catch him at the Hollywood Bowl, and be lucky to catch David Crosby too, but could not get tickets! Saw the Sunday show at the Forum and he weaved his guitar magic for almost 3 hours! Amazing, unbelievable guitar playing, great mix of songs, it was all there! Keep writing and touring David as you are one of the greatest! Hope to catch another one of your shows in the future! Rock on!
