DIRTY LOOPS IN CONCERT:

It's hard to tell who has the most fun at a Dirty Loops concert. Is it the crowd, treated to a groovy set brimming with uniquely arranged pop fusion jams? Or is it the trio onstage, serving up a delicious cocktail of jazz and pop blended with '70s and '80s R&B funk? It's a toss-up, as the Swedish collective ensures their live performances are joyous and unforgettable experiences for everyone. Stellar musicianship takes center stage at the band's shows, which feature drummer Aron Mellergardh's powerhouse percussion skills alongside bassist Henrik Linder's slick bass lines. Helming the show is frontman Jonah Nilsson, whose piercing falsetto and huge range recall legends like Stevie Wonder and Curtis Mayfield. The top-notch production and polished arrangements of their recorded songs translate beautifully to the stage, and Dirty Loops continue to stun ticket buyers with note-perfect performances on tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Bassist Henrik Linder, drummer Aron Mellergardh, and vocalist/keyboardist Jonah Nilsson formed Dirty Loops in 2008 while attending the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Sweden. The trio's big break came when their version of Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" racked up a whopping 100,000 views on YouTube in just two months. They followed it up with creative covers of pop songs by Justin Bieber, Adele, Rihanna, Britney Spears, and Justin Timberlake. The viral videos caught the attention of Swedish producer/songwriter Andreas Carlsson, who promptly signed them to a management deal. Producer/songwriter David Foster then signed the group to Universal Music subsidiary Verve Records and brought them on his 2012 Asian tour. The band released their debut album Loopified in 2014, which boasts two covers and 10 original tracks including standout single "Hit Me". Their 2014-2015 Loopified tour is taking them through Europe, the U.S., and Asia, delivering their energetic shows to crowds all over the world.

the level of musicianship of all 4 artists is just incredible. 1/2 of the audience were musicians and trust me, I saw only smiles around. Every solo, every lick was just a pleasure!

Dirty Loops are a band to never be missed.Their ENERGY and musicality keep you moving the whole time they are on stage. They generously interact with their audience and gave encores. After show they stayed for signing memorabilia and pictures with fans(approx. 250 fans)Would travel out of Canada to experience this band again.

  • Amazing Band...Terrible Sound

    by EG313 on 2024-04-11Rating: 2 out of 5

Band is unquestionably amazing, and props to background vocalist / keyboard who was equally fantastic. What ruined it was the sound engineer who was mixing. I have seen other bands play in this same venue (same system); some have been just average but also saw Snarky Puppy play there last year where the sound was the best I have ever heard; was so well balanced and could clearly hear every instrument articulated. For the Dirty Loops show, the sound was just really bad and not well balanced; lows were obnoxious and highs were really harsh. Everything in between was washed out, including lead vocals, toms and most cymbal work. All the intricate musical stuff they play was completely lost. It's unfortunate as I would not take the chance to see them again given how bad the sound was. Fans and DL deserve better at their level.

  • Great time

by Peter Dedes on 2024-03-25The Opera House - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Love seeing a talented band in a smaller venue. Dirty Loops is better than we deserve ; phenomenal individual talents and a fun group dynamic A great experience from buying tickets to picking up our coats at the end of the night First tune of the set, the sound engineer didn’t have it dialed in. But it improved and was fabulous Love the Opera House

  • 1 night only!?!

by Eyal on 2024-03-25Le Studio TD - MontréalRating: 5 out of 5

Best show in Montreal of 2024! How can the only do 1 night! Live set better quality even than the recording! On another note: either the speakers were blown or the tech didn’t know what to do. The whole speakers couldn’t handle the low frequencies. Too much power on the opening act and on Dirty Loops for the speakers to handle. Someone needs to do something about that!

  • What a show! ...but

by Yelo on 2024-03-25Le Studio TD - MontréalRating: 4 out of 5

What a show! The band was at the top of their game. I've seen them live before, they've never been better than now. However, the sound was bad at the begining, all drums, no vocals, no synths. The mix got better after a few songs, though. And it's always the same thing at the Studio TD, the stage isn't very high, the floor is flat and the room isn't very large. So, even when you get there an hour early, you always end up with somebody 6' 4"in front of you and there is no room to move. So you don't see much, even if you're close to the stage. Overall, super experience. I would do it again.

  • Flabbergasted !!!

by Aymeric on 2024-03-25Le Studio TD - MontréalRating: 5 out of 5

I knew the band for 15 years already... first time I see them in concert... it's one of the best concerts I have ever seen in my life (and I have seen plenty) I loved the energy on stage : the drummer pulls an amazing break, and the bass player is impressed and it shows... they're not taking themselves seriously, while being some of the best musicians / technicians. Highly recommend !!!

Le Studio TD était super comme endroit, c'était la première fois que j'y aller pour voir un concert! Le son était parfait, il n'y a rien de négatif sur mon expérience
