    Disney on Ice very disappointed!!!

by Dulce on 2014-03-11Stampede Corral - Calgary

Sound was so poor, you could barely hear the music, it was like listening to an old radio station from a very old devise. When you go to an event like this you expect to see a classic, no a LILO and stich movie that most people hasn't watch. And last but not least for the price they ask and being such a big name as Disney, I was expecting more profesional skiers. It was really sad that my 9 and 6 year old daughters were falling asleep!!!

Disney on Ice was a huge dissapointment

by CalgaryDad on 2014-03-10Stampede Corral - Calgary

I was very disappointed with the Disney on Ice Passport to Adventure show. The name "Disney" carries a certain expectation. For me it means big quality productions, this show missed the mark in a big way and here are some of the specifics. 1) The show is nothing more than a re-telling of a few of Disney's old movies; The Lion King, The little Mermaid, Lilo and Stitch and Peter Pan. Most kids at the show were under 10 years old and have not seen any of those movies. They really should update the show with more recent movie selections. 2) All the dialogue was pre-recorded, you just had to sit back and watch. It was obvious that after the intermission the kids were getting restless. Some audience participation would go a LONG way towards keeping the kids interested and adding to the fun of the show. 3) Mickey, Donald, etc. Should have come out more often to engage the kids. Again, audience participation. 5) Did I mention that there was no audience participation? I re-iterate because just the day before the Disney on Ice I took the kids to the Harlem Globetrotters and they had a blast. The Globetrotters did an awesome job of getting the audience involved.

    Disney show

by Mauzsa on 2014-03-10Stampede Corral - Calgary

I checked reviews if it was good for adults w/o kids! It was cute but definitely catered to the little ones! Skating was good but I guess I better stick to Stars on Ice to take my 70 something mom! : )

    Over Priced and out dated

by ThriftyMom on 2014-03-10Stampede Corral - Calgary

The actual tickets were a good deal, as were the seats we chose. But the cost to park was $15, a program and coloring book were $25, a bag of cotton candy with mickey ears was $15 - not to mention the 50 stands/carts selling merchandise every inch you walk. The cheapest thing we bought was popcorn and a pop. The performance was great - the skaters did a wonderful job. The theme is out dated, The Lion King and Lilo and stich were around when I was a kid - my daughter kept asking who everyone was - and kept asking if the princesses were coming. The best part for my 4 year old was the little mermaid and seeing Mickey and Minnie along with Daisy, Donald and Goofy. Otherwise, I would have saved my self the money and booked something different.

A total disappointment on so many levels!!!

by FatherOfTwins on 2014-03-10Stampede Corral - Calagry

Let me start by saying that we love live shows, and our girls love a lot of Disney movies/characters and such. So this should have been a homerun, but this show was so bad on so many levels! Here is a breakdown: 1) There was a unbelievable amount of dialogue as they try to create some sort of a story out of randomly thrown together movies songs and characters - most of this talking was not understandable due to poor sound, and from mixing clips from multiple movies and adding additional dialogue. It was awful and our 6 year olds didn't understand what was going on most of the time. Now normally the skating and music would be enough to keep them engaged, but this was bad too. 2) except for a couple of characters/skaters, the skating and choreography was poor and amateurish - there were at least 5 falls during the show and some of the characters looked like they had been skating for 2 weeks - or they just didn't care and were putting forth no effort. 3) the choice of characters would have been okay if this was 1995. Most of the kids were under 7 years old - they have no idea who Lilo & Stitch are! This segment was unbearable was they tried to do the whole movie in 5 minutes - it was confusing and messy. They also had Peter Pan, The Lion King and the Little Mermaid... how about some Disney characters from the last 10 years even... Frozen, Tangled, Tinkerbell & the current Fairies. There was dead silence through many parts of this show, the characters could barely get the audience to participate in many parts. There was almost no applause after many scenes - it was just plain bad! 4) The Disney price gouging was at a whole new level. We expect that the pricing will be obscene if you want to waste your money on their trinkets & trash collectibles and such, but they were charging $15 for a small bag of cotton candy!! Oh yes but it came with a set of cheap dollar store-quality mouse ears - absolutely ridiculous! $15 for a snow cone cup... ummm how do they make the ice last for 2 hours... perhaps with a cocktail of chemicals!! Shame on Disney for selling and promoting these prices and this garbage "food"! In summary: I think they seriously just took this show out of storage from 1995! The costumes were bad, the sound quality was bad, the choreography was bad, the storyline was really bad! To sum it up the best, at about half way through the 2nd half, one of our 6 year old daughters asked how much longer it was going to last. Really?! A 6 year old at a Disney show wants to leave before it's over... that's says it all about this show.

the show was pretty good. not as good as I expected it to be. I found the sound to be really low so it was hard to ear the entire things that were being said.

My daughter loved it but my 6yo and I were bored apart from a few moments. I'd go again just because my daughter loved it so much so that made it worth it.

Disney on Ice is a must see!!

by DisneyLove on 2014-03-10Stampede Corral - Calgary

I went with my first daughter to Disney on Ice when she was 3. She loved the performance and still remembers it. On Friday night I took my youngest to the evening performance of Disney on Ice and she was so excited as they haven't been to Calgary for 10 years and she finally got to go. The staff at the Corral were so kind and accommodating. If Disney on Ice comes back to Calgary we will definitely go again.

by LSRB on 2014-03-10Stampede Corral - Calgary

It was very nice, the girls really enjoy it, but, I think it was too short. For the money we paid I was expecting more characters and longer show. :/

diney on ice: passport to adventure

    by vivi2011 on 2014-03-10Stampede Corral - Calgary

We really enjoyed the show - my daughter was very excited and she really loved all the moments, in special the fire works She is 4 years old and she realized the streams to make fly the personages - I know this part is difficult to hide but maybe you should try making darker the top We'd like to have those events in our city (Edmonton-AB) but unfortunately Disney hasn't come here yet - My daughter really wants to see Mickey and the rock in show :( We didn't get the program because it cost $20 and I consider this is an exaggeration (also I noticed people didn't buy it neither) so, maybe you can make a regular program (no too fancy) and include it in the ticket so everybody can get one

The show was great but sound was terrible. To add to it toys were sold that spin and light up, they were not quiet toys! The show had fantastic skaters and amazing props. Overall I loved it!
