    High School Muscial was forgettable

by MrsR on 2009-09-26Enmax Centrium - Red Deer

Although my daughter was entertained (although disappointed there was no storyline), I was extremely shocked and frustrated by the lip syncing. After taxes, etc. our two tickets came out to about $85-I have paid less to see live theatre with actors who can both sing and dance. I personally have been involved in the theatre community and would be embarrassed to advertise this as a "concert"-clearly dancers were hired ( and they were great dancers) but the lip syncing, in my opinion, was out of line for this type of performance. Advertising did not suggest this would be the case and all of the people who I have talked to in Red Deer who went to this event were disapppointed by the lip syncing and felt taken advantage of. It reminded me of the Milli Vanilli hoax of the 80's! I am not typically a negative person, but I felt this needed to be shared.

    High School Musical was marvelous!

by Cooleen on 2009-09-26Enmax Centrium - Red Deer

This was a surprise event for my 17 year old daughter and her girlfriend. I had no idea it was geared more for preteens. However, they had a blast and it was really enjoyable to watch the younger kids - boys and girls enjoy them selves so much. The performers were excellent.

On Stage did the Movie Justice!

by Red029 on 2009-09-26Enmax Centrium - Red Deer

High School Musical On Stage did an amazing job of pulling all of our favorite movie characters to life on stage for their young fans to see. They covered the favorite songs that everyone loves and made it fun for the audience to watch. Although some of the characters only vaguely resembled their movie counterparts, I think we all appreciate the hard work that has gone into this......and the young fans love it!

    High school musical was average

by anitram on 2009-09-25Enmax Centrium - Red Deer

Not worth the price of the ticket. The show was more like something you would see done by the local high school. The set (backdrops) were nothing special. However the little girls loved it.

    High School Musical

by motl on 2009-09-25Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The girls I brought loved the show! My 8 year-old son was disappointed there wasn't a story. Sound needed some tweaking as it was too loud... However, glad we went!

    Disney's High School Musicial

by danisi on 2009-09-25Enmax Centrium - Red Deer

I can see why the younger kids enjoyed this production with all the music and dance. It's all fine and dandy however, it is more likely geared to the youngsters who have already lost their hearing due to their high ipod volumes. I get extremely annoyed at the fact the sound system has to be cranked to the point that you can't even hear the voices and what they are singing. They need to take a few lessons from broadway in NYC. I didn't have to plug my ears in NYC like I did last night. The tickets should display the decibel rating.

    Daughter loved the show

by Brental on 2009-09-25Enmax Centrium - Red Deer

Singing and dancing was excellent and like how they pulled some of the audience crowd in a few times. Maybe could have been a little bit longer for the money.

    HSM

by NettieK on 2009-09-25Enmax Centrium - Red Deer

The stadium smelled like a locker room. Rotton bananas? Sweaty feet? The lights and dancing were awesome but I really think the crew were lip syncing.... My 6 yr old loved it though and probably thought these people were the real deal.....It was a long way from a Broadway show, which is somewhat what I was expecting.

Me and my daughter had a great time and thought the show was amazing. Only one problem was they didnt have enough supplies for sale ran out of every thing to quickly and waited in line for over 45 minutes and only got a diary which i was lucky to get that. "But all and all i would go see it again.

This show was amazing! Vey interactive with the crowd and the cast was great! The actor who played Troy Bolton was excellent and he looked exactly like Zac EFron! I couldn't take my eyes off of him! Fantastic!!

    Don't waste your money!

by Ilovetroybolton on 2009-09-25Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

After watching the 3 movies a thousand times, seeing the High School Musical parade at Disneyland, watching the Disney on Ice HSM tour, this was by far, nowhere near as good. We had fabulous seats, which turned out to be a problem because my 9 year old daughter realized after only a couple of songs that the characters were in fact lip-synching. There was really no story line & I was expecting a bit more of a "musical" production with perhaps a bit of acting & a better incorporation of the songs. If I wanted to see HSM karaoke, I would have plugged in the movie & given my own kids a microphone to sing along. The stage was practically bare with only a couple of simple props. The one redeeming quality of the "musical" was the fabulous dancing - it was very good and enjoyable to watch. Overall, it was very disappointing. I expected more from Disney.

    Overall pretty good

by Jaydeebug on 2009-09-25Enmax Centrium - Red Deer

Overall High School Musical was good - My 8 year old daughter did enjoy the show! I think the only real dissapointment was the length of the show....it started at 7:00pm, there was a 20 minute intermission and the show was over by 8:30pm - pretty short!! I realize there are only so many songs they can do BUT when you're paying $50.00/ticket I think you should get a little more "bang for you buck"! We were also a little disappointed with the "merchandise situation" - there was definitley not enough (they ran out by 7:05pm) - this made for a LOT of disappointed children!

Girls thought High School Musical was awesome!!

by Birthdaysurprise on 2009-09-25Enmax Centrium - Red Deer

A Friend and I took 7 girls ages 9 to 14 and they all thoroughly enjoyed the show. They thought the acting and singing was very accurate. Close to the real thing. Although they expected it to be more like the show rather than a concert style, nonetheless they had a fabulous time!!

by oreo4 on 2009-09-25Enmax Centrium - Red Deer

High school musical was really good. It was not long enough. It only lasted for 1.5 hours. There was one disappointment and that was by 7:00pm all the soveniers were all sold out. The dancing was really great and the singing was amazing. Really well done.

Might want to wait for the sale..

by buzzingmommy on 2009-09-25Enmax Centrium - Red Deer

It's a fun show for those young girls who can't get enough of Troy, Gabriella, Chad and the others. The songs were great and like all the other good moms I knew every word, and the dancing was energetic and fun, but, Kelsey's giggle was a bit too much. I don't recall her giggle with every line in the movies and once or twice might have been endearing but the 180th time was grating! My 8 year old was very annoyed with the electric piano without a cord. He couldn't let that go. That got the sisters into the lack of hand movement up and down the keyboard.... According to my kids, the piano has got to go. Most of the characters sounded like the originals, even if they weren't spot on the looks, although I really wish the hip hop brainiac had more the figure of the original... I always liked her as a less-than-perfect-but-incredibly-amazing role model. I must say after spending almost $50 per ticket several months ago, I felt sick hearing them on sale for $19.99 the week prior to the event. I feel ripped off.

High School Musical - Fun Had By All

by Mom101 on 2009-09-25Enmax Centrium - Red Deer

High School Musical on Stage was a great show. People of all ages enjoyed the performance The only thing that was dissapointing was the length of the show. It was only about an hour and a half long including the intermission. The show itself was awesome. Our girls were a little dissapointed that the souvenirs were sold out so quickly.
