  • Felder Was Great !! Lefebvre sucked !!

by Sweeper on 2011-02-12The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

My title sums it up. Why the promoters picked Lefebvre as the opener for Felder leaves me still puzzled. He's a lawyer turned online gambling mogul turned singer-songwriter (?) who had the money to buy his way into the music biz, by hiring top LA session musicians and producers to make some recordings. The songs were boring, his presentation and vocals were even more boring. Note to John: " You gotta pay your dues if you want to sing the blues, and you know it don't come easy" Why not have someone with a little more experience and talent to open for someone as renowned as Don Felder? Jeesh! Anyway, Don was incredible. Had no idea he was a good a singer as he is, as well as the incredible guitarist that we already knew.

  • Very mixed

by Southpaw on 2011-02-11The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

Positives: Don Felder was great, his band was excellent and the music was a lot of fun. Negatives: Far too loud, so loud I came out with my ears ringing. OK for GM Place, but not the Centre where you are there to listen. The sound mixing was also poor; many times you couldn't hear Don singing. The performance of Don's daughter was embarrassing.

  • Don Felder Was Outstanding

Once again, Don Felder proved what a genius he is with his performances last weekend. His band (especially the gifted Frankie) were again first class. This is the 8th time I've seen him paly his Evening at the Hotel California and it never grows old. His performance was faultless and it was a great thrill to stand at the stage while he played the last 5 numbers. Hope to see the show again in the near future. Please come back to the Falls - I want you to sign "Heaven & Hell" please.

  • amazing show

We made the trip up from London ,a big Eagles fan, seen them a few times over the years also Henley a couple of times I wanted to see Don Felder to see how a single Eagle compared to the whole band and he certainly didnt dissapoint. From the opening song "Hotel California" to the closing "Take it Easy" He rocked pure Eagles. Don was responsible for the rocky edge of the band and certainly hasn't lost his touch. HIt after hit he pounded away with his tight band who all fit very well into the act even though most of them probably weren't even born in the Eagles hayday. He played a couple of new songs and also his 80's solo hit "Heavy Metal" but besides that it was nothing but Eagles and play them he did. Even his voice was fabulous which surprised me as he was never the main singer in the band usually backup to Henley or Frey. I tell you its their loss not having Don with them anymore My only negative comment is directed to the venue itself. The no photo policy is rather annoying. I always like to have memento's of the evening show and the Casino has a strict no photo policty. WHY its not like your going to sell them or anything. I could have had great shots too as we were in the forth row.

  • Don Felder was awsome!

This was the second time I drove two hours to see Don this year. I hope he comes back soon as the show was incredible. His band are a group of really great musicians and their vocals are equal to the Eagles any day. The venue was great, seats were great, price was great and the music was first rate.

  • Hey - Don Felder can sing too!!

by MJO1 on 2010-08-29The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara FallsRating: 4 out of 5

We really enjoyed the concert although it was a little short; maybe 90 minutes with the 1 encore. He has a great bunch of musicians playing with him including his son Colby on percussion. They started with Hotel California and other than a few songs, most were old Eagles' songs. Don Felder is still a great guitarist and to many people's surprise, he sings pretty well too. He doesn't hava a Don Henley or Glen Fry voice, but his voice is very respectable. He seemed to struggle on a few songs; particularly Peaceful Easy Feeling but all in all it was a very enjoyable evening. The entire group sang Seven Bridges High and it was amazing and better than any of the Eagles recordings I'd previously heard of this song. My biggest disappointment was I wanted him to autograph his book 'Heaven & Hell with the Eagles', but he seemed to ignore my request at the end of the concert even though he was only a few feet away. Oh well, I'll try harder next time.
