Don Williams was a once in a lifetime event!!

by Smiley2 on 2015-09-21Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I brought my 77 yr old mother, and 78 yr old neighbour to this concert, and they were so excited both before and after the concert. Don Williams is a man of very few words, but his voice is the same as I remember growing up listening to him with my parents 25+ years ago!! If you've never seen him before, I highly recommend it - chance of a lifetime, as I'm not sure how many more concerts he'll be presenting!! He's a LEGEND!!!

    Don Williams

I took my sister for her birthday and it was amazing we both had a great time listening to the old music of Don Williams. How could you not be mesmerized by his soft sultry voice. The Jube was an alright venue the sound was awesome the service on drinks well lets say they need to give a little more time so you could even order one.

    LOVE Don Williams

by Angievan on 2015-09-21Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I've been listening to Don Williams longer than I can remember, so I never miss a chance to see him when he comes to town. However, unless someone is already a huge Don Williams fan it's unlikely they would appreciate the legend in concert. He's starting to forget starting lines, he doesn't even sit on his stool or walk off the stage anymore (curtains had to be drawn before the exit and there was no encore). When he comes back to town next time I'm sure I will be there to see him again! And I'll be dragging my husband along too! ;)

    Don Williams was downright amazing

by Anonymous on 2015-09-20Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

He plays for an hour, but, it is a solid performance, the man sounds the same if not better than in his youth. A man of few words......but, such a class act and world class gentleman!!

    Buy a recording instead!!

by Killam48 on 2015-09-20Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The opening act played for 30 minutes followed by a 20+ minute intermission. Don Williams and his band played for 60 minutes. No encore. The shortest concert we have ever been to anywhere. Don sat on a chair for the entire concert. No leg movements the entire time. At times his fingers were not moving on his guitar so the sound must have been prerecorded. Very little interaction with the audience, leaving moments of uncomfortable silence and nervous laughter from the audience between songs. . My wife and I have always liked Don's music and this was our first time seeing him in person. If Don was sick or suffering from some illness his lack of action is excused. Many of those in attendance kept using their cell phones to record the concert even after being admonished by Jubilee staff.

The show was not long enough for the cost of the tickets. Don Williams as always sounded great! Parking was a disaster - had to wait to get into the parkade and leaving was terrible.

Exceptional concert with background singing by many. Positive effect and confirmation of the affect Don has had on many people. Wish he had shown more face. Hat covered most of his face best percentage of time.

Fantastic show. My brother and I waited 45 min before the show and even missed half of the opening act trying to get a photo by his tour bus and also stayed a hour 15 min after the show by his bus to watch the bus drive away. There was four of us fans that wanted a photo but never got it.. Thanks Don. Signed your biggest Fan.

Slow start - fantastic ending!! Don Williams never disappoints. He says he is not much for talking - and doesn't.... song after song. The second half of his set was devoted to his well-known songs and had the audience singing along. Definitely take in one of his shows. I loved it!

    getting old

by nova67 on 2015-09-17Pantages Playhouse Theatre - Winnipeg

That voice/sound is still special BUT there was something missing. The show seemed flat like a puppet on a string , hardly any movement out of Don, I felt the show could have been prerecorded it was just not up-to par like the last performance of his that I went to last. Sorry Don just not up-to standard.

    Don Williams was wonderful!!!

by HaliburtonHighlands on 2014-04-09State Theatre, Kalamazoo - Kalamazoo

We drove 600 Miles from central Canada to Kalamazoo Michigan to hear Don Williams. We rarely go to events, but this was an opportunity not to be missed. The Kalamazoo Theatre was worth the drive; it was absolutely stunning. Don Williams just sang and sang and sang and the audience was so appreciative. We feel blessed to have been able to hear him live.
