Donovan did as much storytelling, as he did playing and singing. Although his voice is not what it once was, the guitar was vibrant and brought me back to the early beginnings of my folk enriched teen years. Did almost all the hits, but unfortunately missed Cosmic Wheels. Magical evening!
This was a terrific evening of story telling and recognizable favourites. It was just Donovan and his guitar, but we didn't need anything else. The audience was spellbound for well over two hours. One of the best concerts this year!
He can still sing... Most intimate concert. Felt like I was in his living room. Reasonable priced tickets and Swag.
Never having experienced a Donovan concert before I wasn't sure what to expect. So out comes this hippie who proceeds to sit down on the (slightly elevated) stage floor, picks up his acoustic and starts strumming and singing. And the sold out crowd loves it. I must admit, for his (I believe) 70 plus years, Donovan delivered to his faithful. I too enjoyed the show. Although it did become dry at times, the storytelling was a lot of fun. But I was really hoping for a band, especially on Season of the Witch
very casual and informal concert. Stories behind the music was great.
Donovan in Toronto was a sold out concert about 2 hours long with a 20 minute break. He played quite a few hits. He got the audience involved by letting us sing many tunes chorus. The highlight of the evening were his stories about old friends of his...famous rock n roll stars.
The Venue did nothing to assist with the VIP Experience. I was able to meet Donovan's staffer . Donovan was a Prince . Friendly and welcoming and signed his autograph and took pictures, shared his stories and songs. Donovan had the audience in his hands the whole night and we all sang along.
