  • Wonderful

Dr. Jane Goodall was wonderful. She is knowledgeable, thoughtful and funny. She allowed us all to hear her deep thoughts and knowledge and then while sitting down with Jann Arden, we got to know more about her on a more personal level. What a gift it was to be able to see and hear her.

  • Excellent evening, except for Jann Arden

I was so excited to hear and see Jane Goodall. She did not disappoint. She was simply wonderful. But Jann Arden was not at all appropriate - her comments in general but even in particular. She was weird and inappropriate. Too much about herself. I love her music but PLEASE if you have Ms. Goodall back, ask someone else to be the moderator. Jann really took away from the experience of a lifetime.

Nobody has blazed a trail like Jane Goodall, in so many different ways. Yet she remains who she is, and that is conveyed in her presentation. I feel so fortunate to have been able to hear her speak, especially now.

  • Jane Goodall is AMAZING and has given me HOPE

I was very concerned about the Environment and didn't know what I could do to help. Because of Jane Goodall I now have hope and know what I will do to support her and her team's efforts. She is amazing and inspiring.

  • An Evening of Hope

For me, this was a dream come true. National Geographic was a big part of my life growing up and that's how I got to learn about Dr. Goodall and her time with the chimpanzees. Being able to hear her speak about her experiences and her views on the future were truly inspiring. The fireside chat she had with Jann Arden was delightful as well. She spoke her mind and made no bones about taking a jab at the dimwit running the Oval Office, which was met with great applause. But the highlight of that evening happened when it was over and I met her as she was leaving the theatre. Such a beautiful, gentle soul. I felt like a kid again.

  • An awe full evening!

It was such an inspiration listening to this powerful and awe-inspiring icon. And to boot Jann Arden was there interviewing! It was captivating listening to Jane recount her life.

  • Expected more

Jane Goodall is an iconic woman. Pioneer in so many areas. She’s 90 and still out there doing amazing work!! That’s why I expected more. Her presentation felt like it was her go-to speech that she had delivered hundreds of times before. It was lovely, sweet, and nostalgic. And safe. I expected to hear more about her current projects, her motivation, her aspirations, etc. It was fairly vague. Yes, I’m really glad I got to see her in person. Just wish I could have learned more about her because she is so endearing and phenomenal.

  • A most excellent experience

It was an inspiring, entertaining and thought provoking experience to be in the presence of the icon conservationist Dr.Jane Goodall. I have already connected young people to her Roots and Shoots program. The future is theirs and we all need to heed the wisdom of Dr.Goodall. Added to that, the council member from the Masqueam provided valuable information about the reality of indigenous people of BC in a very captivating introduction. This type of intro needs to be included in every public event! And of course Jann Arden, a conservationist herself, was the icing on the cake.

  • Inspiring call to action

Excellent message and very inspiring. As Jane Goodall is quiet spoken the first hour was hard to hear her. Thinking the QE should have been able to amplify her voice. When Jane and Jan Arden were chatting using microphones you could hear Jane perfectly. Also would have been nice to see pictures or videos in the background to match Jane's story telling. Jan Arden's song was absolutely beautiful and emotional. She has an angelic voice and is definitely a Canadian treasure. Love her sense of humour and caring heart.
