About

DR SEUSS’ HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS! THE MUSICAL is the record-setting Broadway sensation which features the hit songs “You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas” from the original animated television special. Max the Dog narrates as the mean and scheming Grinch, whose heart is “two sizes too small,” decides to steal Christmas away from the Holiday loving Whos. Magnificent sets and costumes inspired by Dr. Seuss’ original illustrations help transport audiences to the whimsical world of Whoville, as this sparkling production breathes new life into this timeless story of the true meaning of Christmas. Don’t miss what The New York Times calls “AN EXTRAORDINARY PERFORMANCE! 100 times better than any bedtime story.”

The grinch was dismal at best.

by steeltoilet on 2010-12-21Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I went to this show believing that I would enjoy living with the Who's of Whosville for a night but what I got instead was an earful of horrible music and poor screenplay. The actors weren't bad, it was the direction and the way the story was told. No sense of imagination was put into this production. I would not recommend this show to anyone!

This experience was absolutely fantastic as our first theatre experience for our three year old. He was mesmerized and enjoyed every moment. Unforgettable for us all...we won't forget the smiles and laughter on his face for the whole performance.

    A family event!

by SusieQs on 2010-12-21Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

What a fabulous show, the sets, costumes, the singing, and especially the lead actor who played the Grinch. His physical humour and singing really captured the Grinch, I think he watched Jim Carey in his version. We went with another family with 3 children, even the dads loved it. Don't miss out on this wonderful holiday season show for the whole family!!!

    Grinch made Christmas

Production was excellent. Kiddies were glued to their seats. It was just the right length. Some of these things drag on especially for kids.

    A Grinch-y Good Time!

by Chrissyface on 2010-12-21Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I took my daughter to see How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical on Saturday night as a 16th birthday present. I wanted to give her something that she would remember and this was definitely it. She loved the show! She thought that the costumes were excellent and the actors were fantastic, most especially the Grinch and Cindy Lou Who. There were some familiar songs as well as some new ones and the stage props looked just like the illustrations in the book. My daughter told me that she would go back and see the show again and again and that she will always remember how she spent her 16th birthday with her mom and the Grinch!

A wonderful show! No detail was left unattended to, and the actors were amazing! Great rapport with each other, and the audience! I would love to see this show again! The set design and costumes specifically were outstanding, and I really felt as though I had stepped into a Dr. Seuss book! Well done!

    Amazing Cast

by DebinKW on 2010-12-21Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

This musical was MUCH more than we ever expected. The cast did an amazing job and my son was in awe the entire time. Although the entire cast was terrific, the GRINCH stole the show. His interaction with the crowd was well received and enjoyed by all. Kudos for an entertaining and awe-struck show. Highly recommended for everyone!

    The Grinch Stole the Show!

by stella70 on 2010-12-21Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Stefan Karl as the Grinch is brilliant! The performance contained original songs and some new ones too. When Bob Lauder (Old Max) sings the Grinch song, you would swear you were watching the tv special! The best parts took place when Stefan interacted with the audience - more of that would have been perfect! The costumes were great, the sets were simple but to the point and there's a "cool" surprise at the end for the audience too!

You're a mean one Mr. Grinch!!

by Karena101 on 2010-12-21Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Based on the Dr. Seuss book, the musical was great, however if you expect the musical to be anything like the movie, you will be disappointed. However I think the young children really loved it, the musical really interacted with them!! So I think knowing this beforehand, you would enjoy it more.

    Absolutely Amazing

by Patriotsrock on 2010-12-21Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Cindy Lou stole the show with fantastic acting & an outstanding singing voice. The Grinch & Grandpa were very well played as well. The sing along part was fun & Old Max had the perfect deep voice needed for the famous tune.

    Great Show

by Happyeyes13 on 2010-12-21Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

The show was fantastic for all ages. We went as a family with no small children and enjoyed it very much. The only small complaint was, we were in third row and at the end they have fake snow come down which seem like bubbles and they stained my dad's leather jacket as well as mine.
