    Edguy was amazing!!

by raeofsunlight on 2009-09-24The Warehouse - Calgary

I was asked by my sister to attend this concert with her as we both love metal music. I hadn't really heard much by Edguy but started listening as soon as I knew we were going. Once I got to the concert, I was really excited because I had enjoyed their music. The opening bands were harder than I like but they weren't bad. Then Edguy came on and they are PERFORMERS! They made us as the audience laugh, join in and sing with them, and really get into their show. It was more than just a concert!

    Yeah!

This is the show you can't ever forget! It was a very small crowd, but it got cozy and it felt absolutely wonderful. I guess the band never expected such a small crowd to be so noisy, everyone was on fire, mostly because Edguy is a band that CAN set you on fire. I know i was....Great music, great performace, funny band (*hahaha "Save Me") if they ever come back i really wish the show is as small as this one because this is the best interaction you can have with a band and this is a band you'd want to play for you all day long.

    Edguy was Absolutely Fantastic!

by AngelzWrath on 2009-09-21The Warehouse - Calgary

Edguy is a brilliant band with amazing abilities. Lead singer Tobias Sammet is as funny as he is talented, making jokes and puns to lead into songs, and got the whole crowd laughing.

    Edguy Shook the Building

by Matt1988 on 2009-09-20The Starlite Room - Edmonton

Alright here goes; The first opening band of the evening was Luna Mortis. Coming all the way from the states they put on an amazing show. The vocals of the female singer we're simply amazing. Her highs to lows to growls just rocked my socks off and sent shivers down my spine! The guitarist Brian was easily one of the most inspirational artists I’ve ever seen. It's easy to see he'll go big if he ever went solo. The other rhythm guitarist Cory also put on an excellent show. Now one thing I noticed even standing in line outside was how friendly the band members were throughout the show. The bassist from Luna Mortis came outside and started shaking everyone’s hands and thanking us for coming to see them. This kind of display makes the whole experience even more worthwhile and builds a great Artist-fan relationship. Following suite was the 2nd opening band Epicurean, another band from the states. Now the thing with this band was their two guitarists we're unable to attend the Canadian shows. Normally this would oppose a problem considering you usually need your guitarists! So after talking to their Drummer during the intermission (bumped into him at the bar) I found out that they had known Luna Mortis for several years and we're able to use Brian and Cory to fill for them for their Canadian shows. Once again the entire Epicurean show was awesome. Even without their original guitarists they played like they'd been in the band for years. The drummer also had a 10 minute solo session that within 30 seconds was shaking the entire room. I've never seen so many drum sticks being spun around flawlessly! And last but most certainly not least was Edguy! Having scouted several Edguy shows on YouTube I was curious to see if Tobias was truly as amazing live as reputed. He Sure as Hell Was! Tobias's relationship with the crowd was amazing. From simple cheering tactics to hand clapping he had the entire room in unison with him by the 3rd song. His onstage performance was truly awesome. The guitarists all joked around with him too during his story telling about the "origins" of the song "Save Me". It was very comical all around. Near the end the two guitarists and the bassist stood beside each other and played a 5 minute solo together. It was masterfully done. Unfortunately the keyboardist apparently had issues that night and before the show started Tobias told the crowd that some of the songs might not sound exactly the same without him, but they managed to make the differences unnoticeable. (Who needs a keyboardist anyways right?? j/k) Now as for the Starlite Room Venue Itself.......Excellent as Always. I've attended several concerts at this venue and I have nothing but positive things to say about them. The waitresses/bartenders are always smiling and very nice. Even the guys who check the tickets coming in were joking with us (being first in line) just making the show even better. The bathrooms are a little tricky to find if it's your first show, but they're always clean. When you go to a venue to see your favourite artists it can be ruined by bad service. This I believe will NEVER be the case with the Starlite Room. Keep up the GREAT work guys! Overall I give this show 5/5 Stars. Every single band played their hearts 100% and it paid off with one hell of a performance. I have been and will continue to recommend the venue for all Edmonton bound shows!

    Edguy was really good

by ShadowWOT on 2009-09-20The Starlite Room - Edmonton

I had a really good time at the concert. It was not super packed, but they had a pretty good set list (I would have liked another ballad) and I found that Tobias was pretty funny with alot of his comments he made throughout the night. I would have liked to have heard some Avantasia songs and they were without a keyboardist for the concert but it was alot of fun and you could tell that the band was enjoying themselves as well.

They were one of the best bands I have ever seen live! They performed really well and they were real crowd pleasers. I would definitely go see them again if they came into Edmonton and I think anyone who likes a slight rock in their music will enjoy it very much!!

Consistently the best concert experience ever!

by Metalgasm on 2009-09-06The Opera House - Toronto

Edguy consistently puts on one of the best shows in Metal; all 4 times in Canada have been a complete blast where he brings the audience into the fun getting everyone to sing and scream like crazy! The band members all have very distinct personalities and have fun on stage, while Tobi talks with the audience and demands participation. Your voice will be dead before the end of any Edguy concert. What an insane fun action packed blast!
