  • Needs more orchestra

by Kelly on 2023-12-01Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

The orchestra was amazing. The weird thing about this event was that it was literally just the whole movie playing on the screen while the orchestra played along or in addition to scenes. They didn't play any of the individual songs (ie pennies from heaven, you make me feel so young). So I would have liked more orchestra

  • Excellent lovely joyful performance!

I have loved the orchestra! It was lovely the amazing match between the music play by the orchestra and the elf comedy! We have spent a lovely evening !!!

  • Horrible

by Son on 2023-11-28Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 1 out of 5

Was expecting a play only to find out it was only a screen showing elf movie with subtitles and an orchestra in front…totally disappointed!!!

  • Wasn't expecting to watch a movie

by Gwen on 2023-11-28Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

Our bad for not reading the fine print . . . we didn't realize it would be just the movie on a screen and an orchestra playing to the movie. It was a lot of money, over $150, for essentially what turns out to be watching a movie in a theatre. The orchestra was great!

  • The movie is always great but that's not what I expected

by Amy T on 2023-11-27Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

The movie plays in the big screen with an orchestra for the music. That's it. It's not play, not really a musical. I enjoyed the movie regardless but probably wouldn't have bought tickets had I known that was the show.

  • Great way to kick off the Christmas Season!

by Michelle on 2023-11-27Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

If I am being completely honest, when I bought the tickets I didn't realize that this was an orchestra with the movie playing, I thought it would be a musical (my fault for not reading the entire listing). Having said that, I did figure it out before we attended, and we all enjoyed it very much. The orchestra was pure perfection, and it really brought home how much the musical score makes the movie. A really fun night out, and a great kick-off to the Christmas season!

  • Great show!

Took the kids (10 and 8) and was fantastic! Performance is unreal, you forget the orchestra is even there.

  • Was enjoyable, however maybe a bit costly to do again

by LJB on 2023-11-27Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

The symphony was wonderful along with the movie however I feel the price was maybe a bit too high for such an event, if you aren't a student, under or over a certain age and just in the general population. With taxes etc, $75 was maybe a bit high I would not likely do this type of event again (movie with symphony accompaniement)

  • What a disappointment

by Sad on 2023-11-27Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 1 out of 5

What a waste of money. For the price of these tickets one would expect a live theatre performance. The initial advertising for this show advertised ELF and did NOT clearly set out that it was Elf in concert, which would lead you to believe it was a live musical performance. The symphony was so overpowering you couldn’t hear the movie which would explain why the subtitles were present. The images on screen were substandard at best. When the whole row behind us left I knew we weren’t the ones that were misled and let down.

  • I expected better.

The sound was not great; it was quite muffled. The post-intermission portion was a bit better but, overall, disappointing. I feel I didn’t get good value for the dollars.
