This was my second time going after a few years. Although the performance was good and our seats were better, it was not as impressive as the first time. I think the reason being because they played less Christmas themed music than the last time and threw in a couple of newer songs along with some that were not as familiar. Overall, it was a nice evening outing during the Christmas season.

A Little Bit Of Something For Everybody

by PZTO on 2023-12-14Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

I have attended Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) shows well into the double digits over the years dating back to the early days when they used to do the theater (or ‘theatre’ as we spell it in Canada) circuits. Here in Toronto, those shows were held at the legendary Massey Hall back in 2002 and 2003, after which the band then advanced to arenas. Needless to say, with all the choreographed precision lighting, background video screen images and pyro, TSO once again delivered one of the best, explosive and most bombastic stage productions that one could ever witness; and, they continued their tradition of adding something new as they do during every new Yuletide tour. That being said, if all the stage effects were to be stripped away, TSO is revealed to be an incredibly talented and cohesive group of first-rate vocalists and musicians (some even drawn from such notable bands such as Savatage , Symphony X and Night Ranger), accompanied by a local string section, delivering a roughly 2 hour 20 minute show comprised of musical genres ranging from jazzy show tunes to classical to operatic to power ballads to hard rock/heavy metal and just about everything in between, whereby mostly all of which are set to a Christmas theme. As always, this made for a fun-filled family-friendly (how is that for alliteration eh ?) show that had a little something for everyone regardless of one’s age, background and various practices of personal traditions. I would strongly recommend that anyone who has never attended a TSO concert take the opportunity to do so the next time that the band visits your local venue. You cannot ever go wrong with TSO !

This was my very first time seeing the show and it was just so amazing! It was music, singing, lasers, fire and light show all in one and it was absolutely amazing! The only downfall was the line up outside to get in. Somehow the gates were not open and their was chaos with people who didnt know what to do and we missed 30 minutes of the beginning of the show!

You know the music will be amazing, but hearing it live made it even more so. Without giving too much away, the light show and theatrics are a must see! The combo of excellent musicians with guitars, violins, drums, vocals and theatrics made it a fantastic event! I highly recommend it! Sort of a rock n roll/classical combo story!

    First Time at Show.

by Newbie on 2023-12-09Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

First time seeing Trans Siberian Orchestra and the show was great. Musicianship, singing, light show and pyrotechnics were top notch. Had a blast, hope to make it a yearly outing.

    A Little Something For Everyone

by PZTO on 2023-12-09Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

I have been to too many Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) concerts since 2012 to remember just how many, but it is well into the double digits. Right from their theater (or 'theatre' as we spell it in Canada) circuit performances in the early days (i.e., the legendary Massey Hall here in Toronto, Ontario) to the eventual more bombastic arena shows, TSO has always delivered the 'TRIPLE-E' of production (i.e., Exceptional, Elaborate, Extravagant) for the better part of about 2 hours and 20 minutes. Once the bombast is stripped away, we become privy to enjoying an incredibly talented and entertaining group of vocalists and musicians who delivery precision performances, covering a wide spectrum of musical genres, ranging from jazzy show tunes, r'n'b, classical, operatic, power ballads, hard rock/heavy metal and just about everything in between; and, all set to a Christmas theme, in a manner than welcomes anyone, regardless of one's religious traditions. After all, this is in essence a rock show albeit of multiple dimensions; and, it all makes for a (get ready for some unplanned alliteration) fun family-friendly feel-good experience for people of all ages and backgrounds. I would strongly recommend that anyone who has never attended a TSO concert, take the opportunity to do so the next time that TSO visits your local venue. Happy Holidays, Happy Kringle and Merry Christmas !!!
