    Really enjoyed the soccer matches

by SoccerFun on 2015-06-10Lansdowne Stadium / Stade Lansdowne - Ottawa

First time at Landsdown Stadium since the makeover. Other than a coat of paint and better seats the North Stand is as bad as ever, though the sight lines have been improved since the last major soccer event. You can now (barely) see the near side touch line from seats other than from the front row. Took my wife, daughter and 2 grandkids (7 & 8) and we all thoroughly enjoyed both games, and the warm friendly atmosphere. Great volunteers. Loved the giant screen to watch the replays. Didn't like the fact that there was no re-admittance between the two games, made you feel trapped in an inadequate, uncomfortable space. Once you leave the seats, everything was very crowded. Ridiculous lines for over-priced junk food and drinks. The only place there weren't massive line-ups was for beer, indicating a wrong emphasis, this was not a CFL type event. With young children and not being able to bring healthy food and drinks to a family type event was a real problem in my mind. Given the small choice of available seats when I was trying to purchase tickets, I was very surprised to see so many empty seats, especially in the new South Side Stands. Having said that, I am really happy that the Women's World is being held here in Ottawa, a great show of support for the most popularly played game in Canada.

    FIFA opener

by jbm1 on 2015-06-10Lansdowne Stadium / Stade Lansdowne - Ottawa

Good football, great atmosphere. Expensive beer and terrible food options. "FIFA supports a healthy lifestyle" unfortunately TD Place does not. Two out of four people could not eat most of the items available on the north stand.

    Soccer matches were amazing

by Anonymous on 2015-06-10Lansdowne Stadium / Stade Lansdowne - Ottawa

Overall the games were a great experience. Would have been nice to be able to go out and walk around the area during the hour wait between games instead of being forced to stay inside and have to pay the inflated prices in side the stadium. With the farmers market and the local food vendor just outside it was a shame to have not been able to enjoy them especially for people who were visiting the area.

Canada scores with 1 minute to go!!

by Anonymous on 2015-06-10Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

We had a blast at the opening match of the Women's World Cup!! We were sitting in the very front row of Commonwealth Stadium and it was absolutely worth it. We were as close to the action as you can get and totally enjoyed ourselves. We're going back on Canada Day for the bronze game here in Edmonton to celebrate Canada Day and some really exciting soccer!! GO CANADA GO!!

    Packed but overall good

by JZ000 on 2015-06-10Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Sucks that waiting in line for getting in (we were early but later arrivers experienced huge lines that impacted missing the opening ceremonies). Opening ceremonies ok, but no announcement or introduction, no FIFA representation or welcome... The ETS (transit) is brutal in planning for any event over 20,000 people (and 53,000+ made transportation a nightmare via LRT). Food lines were rather disorganized (long lines and waits - no capacity to deal with crowds over 10,000 really); so again, long waits for simple items (and water was $4 - at least that's what I was charged, not the $3 as advertised) - why not have a beverage-only line or runners (who sell basic items in the sections as well? Though lots of non-fans trolling the stairs throughout the game and blocking view, that was frustrating (people should wait for mid-field play, not leave for snacks while a team is attacking or a corner kick!). Seats were decent and not obstructive. Looks like things were poorly planned for large crowds overall, and that lessened the experience...too bad since it was a major international event - probably not the same at other venues since Canada not playing...but overall they achieved the minimum standards (just passing basic expectations to not limit the experience too much, but nothing "above or beyond"). But the experience of being at the game with many fans and cheering on Canada was good, and a lot stuck around to watch the second game (I figured that 60% would leave, and it was closer to 20-25% only).

    Great GAme terrible Food Service

by Brucru on 2015-06-10Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

The game and the seats were excellent but the food service was aweful. Getting beer was easy - getting a snack took forever. Very poorly set up and the poor volunteer takes the guff - dial up the game Commonwealth Stadium and FIFA.

    FWWC2015 at Landsdowne Stadium

by NSancheZ on 2015-06-10Lansdowne Stadium / Stade Lansdowne - Ottawa

The newly renovated Landsdowne Stadium is a fantastic venue to host a Wold-class event such as FIFA Women's World Cup. You can see the pitch clearly from any seat in the stadium. The views of Ottawa canal and green space is beautiful. The atomsphere is awesome. The stadium is accessible and there are food/snack options. There is so much to do in the Landsdowne area with selections of restaurants, cafés, shops, Whole Foods and even a Cineplex. The stadium is located in downtown Ottawa so there's lots to see and do. I highly recommend visiting Landsdowne (TD Place) and I definitely recommend attending a FIFA game to see professional women play a beautiful game.

Very well organized, no time wasted in lines. Free parking and shuttle service excellent. Stadium is beautiful, we were in a corner at the top and yet could see the match clearly. Washrooms are numerous and clean.

    GAMES AWESOME, CONCESSION SUCKED!

by Gecko0122 on 2015-06-10Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Both games were extremely fun! But the concession area was a total GONG SHOW! They were not organized in this are and pedestrian traffic was far too jammed, with people being pushed constantly and forced to push through. They ran out of almost everything after the FIRST game, so had little in the way of supplies for the second game. Took me 45 minutes to get food. And although the staff were friendly, they were TOO friendly! Trying to socialize with people while ordering was NOT cool! There were too many people waiting in line who want to get in and out as quickly as possible, not hear about everyone's life story.

    A MUST SEE EVENT

Edmonton did an amazing job of making the FIFA World Cup an opener to always remember. Great game, atmosphere and venue. Excited for Thursday's game. GO CANADA!!

The game was ok. The atmosphere was excellent. The organization around the concession stands and gate availability was horrible. They ran out of food and had the souvenir stands right by the concessions so no-one could walk through.

    Excellent Matches but terrible lines.

by Jferg on 2015-06-09Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Loved every minute of the match play, however common wealth needs to be better organized in terms of lines at the washrooms, concession lines and merchandise booth. Perhaps partitions to keep these lines separate and not a massive blockade.

    Canada wins against China!

by Gertrude on 2015-06-09Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

We had fabulous seats! It was so cool to be part of this experience with 53,000 people! Unfortunately the facility was not properly prepared for this event. Line ups were ridiculous and felt like sardines in a can! You couldn't move through to get merchandise, food or to the bathrooms like you should be! Been to other events there with that many people and didn't encounter those issues! Ran out of food at times, cold drinks, booths were managing money from a bag instead of a register, which slowed everything down, slow to take caps off, and so on! Why couldn't people be in the stands selling drinks? It was so hot, it would've been a hit and people wouldn't have missed 20-30 min of the event! Commonwealth should have been better prepared and staffed appropriately! The event itself was phenomenal! Many memories!
