  • Brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart…

by Lex Lee on 2025-01-08Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

I went to the Looney Tunes 30th anniversary show with my mother. Growing up watching bugs bunny as so many others I have such a nostalgic love for these characters and cartoons. Me and my mother cried, laughed and swooned at how beautiful and amazing the orchestra was. It was one of the best memories we’ve had in awhile. I would recommend anyone to go. 10/10 performance.

  • Thats All Folks! A must see!

by JudyD on 2025-01-07Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

This was an excellent performance. I was so impressed with the skill level to write the score and match it to the animation. To think this was done over 75 years ago is mind boggling! The new additions are incredible and the skill of the orchestra is unparalled. I absolutely loved every moment!

  • No Room for Politics

by DiamondV on 2025-01-07Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

This was a fun nostalgic evening and the performance itself was top notch, however, I did not appreciate the political comments made by the conductor about wanting to be adopted by a Canadian, referring to the incoming Trump administration. The problem with democrats is their inability to read the room. If in any room full of mixed company, one should realize that there would be a close to equal representation of both republicans and democrats, and in conservative Calgary’s case, and Canada in general at the moment, the Liberals are not popular. I did not need a Bugs Bunny performance to be political.

  • A great experience.

by Zee on 2025-01-07Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Thoroughly enjoyed this show! Great for all ages but it was especially enjoyable for those of us who grew up watching the Bugs Bunny Roadrunner Hour and/or Merry Melodies. The orchestra plays the accompanying music exactly as written in the original scores, so you feel like you’re watching it in your living room. You have to remind yourself there’s an entire symphony under the giant screen playing along. The conductor addressed the audience a number of times with interesting commentary and background info, and there are some brand-new cartoons included as an added bonus. So much fun!

  • Fantastic Combination

by RVarey on 2025-01-07Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

The marriage of the cartoons with a symphony orchestra was amazing! The addition of sound effects enhanced the experience. I was instantly brought back to my childhood of watching Saturday morning cartoons.

I bought tickets to this for me and my wife, whom is a huge Vivaldi fan. We both had a great time, 2 hours just flew by to be honest. Filmharmonic is a very talented orchestra, I highly recommend getting tickets if you live near where they are performing.

An enjoyable night of culture and beautiful classical music played by a pitch perfect orchestra and Isabella Perron is the most amazingly talented violinist. We really enjoyed her performance and the orchestra generally.

  • Amazing performance

What an amazing performance! I enjoyed it, it was done too soon. 🥰 The only problem was with the First Ontario Concert Hall staff. Some people arrived late and the staff was talking to them rather loudly. Also using their radio. ( I was sitting in the last row) For the first 20 min number of sitting guest were annoyed by the staff and late people. I wish I can listen to the concert again without the disturbance. Because, talented musicians!!!!❤️❤️❤️

  • Vivaldi was a hit

by William on 2024-04-16FirstOntario Concert Hall - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

The talent of FILMharmonic was off the charts. The Spanish version was amazing but the 4 seasons sounded so lively and spit on. Isabella was a fantastic soloist. Lived every minute as did my niece and daughter...and they are teens😉
