    Five for Fighting was Fantastic!

by HeatherG242 on 2017-09-04RIO Theatre on BROADWAY - Vancouver

I have waited so many years to see this artist live and he amazed me! Great piano and guitar, that unique voice that I have always loved. Songs so poignant they bring so much emotion and I loved hearing the background stories to several of the songs. The string quartet was wonderful and made it feel like there was a small orchestra playing. The Rio was a great venue with really good sound. My husband and I go to a lot of concerts and this was one of the best ever. Would certainly go again!

It was a great show. Nice that it was small, intimate and personal.

    Beautiful

    by tb33 on 2010-10-29El Mocambo - Toronto

As always John's voice and beautiful Lyrics take cetre stage, albeit a bit small. I would have loved it to be in a bigger venue although I know the purpose of this tour was to keep it intimate. Not sure why the set started so early but I think he had a morning show to do. All the big hits were covered as well as some older tunes Like Easy Tonight and a lot off Slice. John has an amazing connection with Canada and you can tell the audience loved listening to his stories for every song. I would have liked to see an encore and heard Dying as that is a hauntingly sad but beautful song that was unfortunately overshadowd by 100 yearsoff of the same album. Next time John?

Loved this show!! Jesse Labelle was a perfect opening act...great representation of Toronto's talent. John Ondrasik was wonderful, his songs were perfect. Great song writer, performer and story teller. The venue...I was lucky to be at the doors early and get a seat, El Mocambo has a limited amount of seating. We sat at the back booth, view was great, it's a small venue so anywhere in the room had a good view. Sound was amazing, great venue for an acoustic set.

Five for Fighting was really disappointing

by JillNYC on 2010-03-05Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom - New York

These guys are really not good live - flat, bad vocals, zero dynamism. My advice: Save your money and buy the CD.

an unbelievable night with five for fighting

by miele on 2009-10-19El Mocambo - Toronto

A beautiful acoustic filled evening with John and his band mate....the evening was filled with old and new tunes and wonderful stories behind each song. FFF music inspires me to dream, love, grieve, dance, and hope. It was such a beautiful evening and can't wait until the band makes there way back to Toronto!!! I took a new friend to the show as a gift, she was so impressed by your music she said you made a new fan in her!!

    Amazing!!!

by pianomanluke on 2009-10-19El Mocambo - Toronto

The intimate and very small venue was perfect. It wasn't sold out, which for the fans was awesome because it enabled us to get really close to the sage and the musician. For the most part, the concert was acoustic which I often enjoy more than electric. He played for at least one hour and then came back for an encore, playing two more. An amazing singer/songwriter, who is known for writing both beautiful and very provoking lyrics.
