This was a great play for the little ones. We went to "little Bear" a couple of months ago, and this was very similar. The costumes were great and the voices were very, very close to the characters on tv. My daughter liked the show and so did I (being only a hour at best!)

by Anonymous on 2010-04-05Pantages Playhouse Theatre - WinnipegMy daughter and I have never actually seen an episode of Franklin, and she still had a blast. She knows who Franklin is but no one else. The play did not require us to have background knowledge of the show to enjoy it. It kept her attention the whole time! The play was interactive and we gladly participated! The costumes were nice and colorful. Also, the play made attempts at teaching kids the meaning of some words which I definitely appreciate!
Rating: 3 out of 5 Franklin was Fun but not Unforgettable
by WinnipegMom on 2010-04-04Pantages Playhouse Theatre - WinnipegThis show was good... but not great. Perhaps my expectations were shaped by the mesmerizing "Little Bear" show we saw a few months ago but Franklin did just not do as well. The kids still naturally loved it because well, Franklin was there! And the moral of the story was noteworthy and a valuable learning. With that said, the characters were not as engaging and the sets were not as impressive. Would I still take them again - sure.
Rating: 2 out of 5 Disappointing
by Franka on 2010-04-04Pantages Playhouse Theatre - WinnipegIt is unusual for me to wish we had stayed at home and watched Tree House, but in this case I really think that Franklin on Tree House has a better quality than this very simplistic version of a children's show. It was not entertaining for kids, who get bored with bad performers, it was boring for grown-ups. It was not quite a disaster, but not catching the attention, not at all fascinating.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Franklin was AMAZING!!!
by kittie101 on 2010-04-04Pantages Playhouse Theatre - WinnipegMy son who is 20 months was dancing and clapping along, he loves the Franklin cartoon and was really into it!!!

by hockeybrent on 2010-04-04Pantages Playhouse Theatre - WinnipegStoryline was quite good and acting itself was well done (acting to a recording can be tough). Intermission was a perfect length for the families as well.

Rating: 4 out of 5 My 2 yr old loved it!!
by Ariel22 on 2010-03-31Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonMy very active 2 yr old was on the edge of his seat through the whole performance. He was able to follow the storyline, clapped, and laughed! Yet it was also an enjoyable story for my husband and I.
Rating: 3 out of 5 Franklin was O.K.
by Leftyz on 2010-03-30Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonI took my 2yr old son to see this show - we went to the Backyardigans in Nov'09 and he LOVED that so I figure he would also enjoy Franklin. We sat in the first balcony this time, it was a little hard to hear - we could have stood to have the volume a little louder. There seemed to be a lot of breaks where the 2 mice or the troubadour would make small talk. The story was good, my son wasn't absolutely enthralled with the show but it wasn't a total waste of money either. Calliou is coming this year too, so I'm sure we'll be in attendance of that!
Rating: 1 out of 5 Not as entertaining.....
by quiosqui on 2010-03-30Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonThe sound was terrible, you could hardly hear the characters or the narrator. The songs were boring and was not as entertaining as I thought it would be. I think we will stick to seeing Franklin on Treehouse.
Rating: 3 out of 5 A must for Franklin fans
by GigiABC on 2010-03-29Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonMy daughter was fixated as were most of the children at the event. From a 3 year old's perspective it was a 5 star event because just about every character from the Franklin shows appeared on stage. From an adult's perspective the sound quality wasn't very good, especially when they sang songs.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Great show

Rating: 4 out of 5 CAB
by CABF on 2010-03-29Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonThe play was good. My kids are 2 and 4, they had a little trouble getting through the whole thing. I like that the show is 30 min then intermission then 30 min. The costumes where great, the story was a bit boring. I think the tickets were a bit expensive, and the t-shirts were way too over priced. Other than that it was nice to see the kids expression on their face when Franklin appeared.
Rating: 2 out of 5 Franklin was too long
by lizzieo on 2010-03-29Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonThe show itself was ok but the running time was probably somewhere around 80-90 minutes. The intermission was supposed to be 15 min was was closer to 30 minutes. The entire show should have been shown non-stop rather than breaking for an intermission. There was no need to be there for 2 hours!!
Rating: 4 out of 5 Franklin and the Noble Knights
