Fun Lovin' Criminals on Tour

New York rap-rock band Fun Lovin' Criminals are a genre-surfing satirical trio currently comprising Brian Leiser, Frank Benbini and Naim Cortazzi. They originally formed in 1993 with Huey Morgan, Leiser and Steve Borgovini. At first, they were stand-in performers, which meant they performed at clubs when a previously booked act didn't show up. They found a record deal this way and signed with EMI.

Fun Lovin' Criminals released their debut album, Come Find Yourself, in 1996 via Chrysalis Records. It featured the singles "The Grave And The Constant," "Scooby Snacks," "The Fun Lovin' Criminal," and "King Of New York," all of which charted in the UK.

In 1998, Fun Lovin' Criminals shared their sophomore album, 100% Colombian, which featured the Barry White tribute "Love Unlimited" and "Korean Bodega." The following year, they played at Glastonbury Festival and released the 1999 album Mimosa -- a compilation of lounge-style covers and different versions of previously released tracks. Borgovini also left the band in 1999 and was replaced by Maxwell "Mackie" Jayson, and then Mark Reid in 2003.

The band's third studio album, Loco, came out in 2001. Its eponymous single became their biggest hit yet, reaching No. 5 in the UK. In 2002, Fun Lovin' Criminals parted ways with EMI and were signed by Sanctuary Records, where they released their fourth album, 2003's Welcome To Poppy's.

They released another album in 2005 called Livin' In The City -- a tribute to New York City. Come 2008, Fun Lovin' Criminals made their second appearance at Glastonbury.

In 2010, the band shared another album, Classic Fantastic, which featured the singles "Classic Fantastic," "Mister Sun," "We, The Three," and "Keep On Yellin'" featuring Roots Manuva.

Fun Lovin' Criminals Live in Concert

To celebrate Come Find Yourself's 20th anniversary, in 2016 the band shared a deluxe, expanded edition of their debut album and performed at tons of festivals throughout the UK and Europe. In 2012, they released the Essential compilation album, followed by Another Mimosa in 2019 (also a compilation).

In 2021, the band announced that frontman Huey Morgan had left Fun Lovin' Criminals to focus on his DJ position with BBC Radio, and Leiser would take over frontman duties. Leiser also announced a tour for September 2022, as well as new music for a forthcoming album.
