    Bitter Sweet

by MethenyFan on 2013-10-04Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

Having never seen the Grateful Dead before, I was really looking forward to seeing Furthur. & we specifically flew from Canada to Las Vegas for this show. Furthur did two sets. I quite liked the 1st set, with gems such as Dupree's Diamond Blues being the highlight for me. The 2nd set rambled on too much for my tastes, with long jams that seemed to go no where. The band was tight, especially John Kadlecik & Joe Russo who played incredibly well. Phil was phil, as good as he's ever been, imo. The weak link was Bob Weir. He seemed bored & out of it. His playing was sloppy & devoid of inspiration & he was struggling to play some of his parts, with wrong & partially played chords ringing out more than a few times. He was stoic throughout the show & really didn't seem like he wanted to be there, or was wasted out of his mind & in another realm other than the stage. Either way, it was a fun show, & this is about as close to seeing the Dead as I will probably ever come to. I hope Bob is well & this was just an off night. He's not that old & there is really no excuse for how poorly he performed.

    Furthur is further

by Nellsy on 2011-07-28Constellation Brands Performing Arts Center - CMAC - Canandaigua

in one word ... wonderful. Perfect weather in a very nice cozy venue. A fast pasted 50 minute 1st set coming out of the gate with the Golden Road and playing 5 songs I have never seen performed live ... this was show 62 for me including a rare tribute to Brent. Covers of the Clash and the Beatles were brilliant and well received. The second set run of Dark Star > Uncle John's Band, Black Peter > Gimme Some Lovin > GDTRFB > And We Bid You Goodnight ... kept me on my feet the whole time. I say the band 4 shows in 2010 including 2 at Red Rocks ,,, this show is top drawer ! John Kadlecik is blending in swimmingly well ... 4.5 star rating ... IKO IKO

When a jam band is in harmony and find a groove the event is magic. just like the G. Dead, Further finds the glory of living in the moment. I miss Jerry G.

Best of times, worst of times

by Overtheborder on 2010-09-23Concerts At Marymoor - Redmond

Got lost in Seattle's crazy freeway system and missed first half of first set. Not much healthy food for sale inside. Rain that outdid Woodstock-I now have a cold. So, I should have had a bad time but the band was so hot that it was worth it. The world's best Grateful Dead tribute band. Fun to be in a crowd that was having so much fun in such bad weather.

Great venue in the beautiful city of Redmond, Wa ,I really enjoyed myself and my wife and kids had a great time. The rain didnt let up the whole night, but that had no effect on the 8000 plus people that enjoyed themselves, Great set lists from the band and the event staff were super nice, coolers ,lawn chairs, pretty casual,
