GERRY DEE ON TOUR:

Personal story looms large in the stand-up of Canadian comic Gerry Dee. A former sportsman and physical education teacher, Dee's act draws heavily on the comic potential of institutional learning and the inherently funny dynamic of teacher and student. As a finalist on the 2007 season of NBC's Last Comic Standing, Dee more than proved his performance chops, beating out most of the competition to take home 3rd place. With his hit sitcom Mr. D entering its third season, Dee is sure to be sharper than ever on The Real Mr. D 2014 Comedy Tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Ontario, Gerry Dee played varsity hockey and golf at university before going on to become a physical education teacher. His experiences coaching young athletes and students provided him plenty of fodder for his stand-up act, and in 1999 he was named Toronto's Funniest New Comic.  After deciding to pursue comedy full-time, Dee went on to win numerous comedy competitions and prizes in the '00s, including the prestigious San Francisco International Comedy Competition in 2002 — an honor he shares with comic legends Robin Williams and Ellen Degeneres. After a successful appearance on the 5th season of NBC's Last Comic Standing, Dee launched his namesake sitcom Mr. D on Canadian television in 2012, announcing its renewal for a third season in 2014.

    Gerry Dee is a natural. He makes the most boring story funny. He has a way of telling the story the draw you in and then you are non stop laughing the entire show.

    Gerry Dee was great as was his opening act. The only complaint was Gerry wasn't wearing a Blue Jays jersey. Great show!!!

    Loved the show however it was at Casino Rama there theater is outdated and the seating is very uncomfortable we won't be seeing a show there again

    It was the funniest funniest funniest show the warm-up act, especially it was hilarious. You were actually concerned whether gerry would be just as funny as his warm-up and he was Still talking about what a great show it was.

    Excellent spectacle! L’humoriste était très drôle et celui de la première partie aussi (Dylan). Nous avons apprécié les blagues sur la langue française. Nous avons bien ri. C’était la 2e fois que nous voyions Gerry en spectacle et s’il y en a une 3e, nous reviendrons assurément. 🤩

    Before the show, Gerry Dee was walking down the street and he was nice enough to take a picture with me and my son. The show was great and the opening guest was great as well! A great night out! We are big fans of Mr. D and now Family Fued. Gerry Dee didn’t disappoint. Thanks Gerry!

    I went to the Ottawa show with my sisters and we all laughed until we cried. Gerry is such a natural and the stories about his family are so relatable. The show exceeded my expectations. I look forward to seeing his next show!
