About

GIRAFFAGE IN CONCERT:

In just a couple short years, buzzed-about producer Giraffage has gone from whipping up trippy tracks in his San Francisco bedroom to performing for massive crowds at EDM festivals across the world. It's all thanks to his growing online fanbase, which boomed after he dropped a wildly popular 2007 remix of The-Dream's album "Love/Hate". Onstage he's remarkably focused as he unleashes a delicious blend of electronica and dream pop that's drawn comparisons to Slow Magic, Niva, and Evenings. His intricate live sets incorporate dreamy pop beats, complex percussion, and drifting vocals that sample everything from Britney Spears acapellas and down-tempo R. Kelly jams to '80s infomercials. Giraffage's ethereal dance music radiates positive vibes, leaving ticket buyers utterly entranced at his unforgettable live shows.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

San Francisco-based producer Giraffage, a.k.a. Charlie Yin, started making music under the moniker Robot Science in 2009. He released three EPs -- 2009's Doodads, 2010's Square, and 2011's Good Luck -- before switching to the name Giraffage while studying at UC Berkeley. He made his debut under the moniker in 2011 with the Pretty Things EP, and quickly followed up with a full-length album titled Comfort. His remixes of popular R&B artists like R. Kelly and The Dream generated tons of buzz, and by 2012 he was touring Europe alongside producer XXYYXX. In 2013 Giraffage inked a deal with Alpha Pup Records and released his sophomore album Needs. His stellar reputation on the live circuit continued to grow after he toured the US with electronic rock duo Phantogram, playing major festivals including The Treasure Island Music Festival, Decibel Festival, and The Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival. In 2014 he released the EP No Reason on Fool's Gold Records and joined EDM DJ Porter Robinson on a highly anticipated North American tour, where he continued to prove his worth  with unforgettable performances.
