  • Gogol never disappoints!

by gogolfanforlife on 2009-10-10Vogue Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Such an amazing performance! Gogol will NEVER disappoint! However would of loved to have seen them at the Commodore. The Vogue sucks for this type of performance.

  • Gogol Bordello - uninteresting and hard to hear

by kafetzou on 2009-10-10Vogue Theatre - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

As always in this fine city, I come away disappointed from concerts of groups that have an ethnic flavour when you hear their recordings. It seems to be the norm to do a little "ethnic cleansing" before they come to Vancouver, so their group sounds as mainstream as possible - in other words, boring (to me)! On top of that, since we were up in the peanut gallery, the sound also wasn't very good. For example, we could barely hear the violin or the accordion at all - all we heard was bass. That said, the crowd seemed to be having a wonderful time - I may have been the only one who didn't like it.

  • WONDERFULust KING!

    by RainbowSong2089 on 2009-10-10Vogue Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

This concert rocked! I had balcony tickets, but we went to the floor to dance anyways. People kept jumping up on stage and the band was for the most part cool with that. A lot of body surfing. The opening band wasn't good. That had no bass guitar - just a drummer & a guitarist/singer. Didn't warm the crowd up like they should have. Gogol Bordello = DANCE FEST!

The vogue with its theater seating is a bit of a strange venue for the wonderlust kings but the sound is great everyone just stood on the seats and danced. For anyone who enjoys live music I recommend seeing gogol bordello they put on an amazing show with energy surging through the crowd

  • Gogol Bordello was great

by Idin on 2009-10-10Vogue Theatre - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

The sound wasn't very good though. Because of loudness, the sounds were saturated and therefore Bordello's creative melodies were difficult to distinguish.

  • Gogol Bordello was awesome!

They're a great band, I recommend 'em to punk fans

  • THIS. WAS. AMAZING.

by IllustratedJai on 2009-10-10Vogue Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I have been meaning to see Gogol Bordello ever since I first got into them, back in the eighth grade. They are superb and amazing and this concert was everything I hoped it would be. They played all our favourite songs, along with a new one that's now ranking high in my favourites list, and just rocked the house. Sure, they crowd was a little crazy, but dear lord, getting to touch their hands, and then getting given the setlist! Awh, awesome night.

Gogol Bordello are always a crowd pleaser, right from start to the very end! Danced the night away! My only complaint is the venue for the Edmonton show (Ed's) cuz they charge ridiculous prices for CANS of beer! It's a downer every time we see a show there, so we are going to continue to sneak our own booze in ;)

Sick of Tragically Hip? Brittney? Chad Kroeger and Nickelback? My 'Sweet Little Pole' and I went to see these guys Wednesday night – they’re awesome, high energy and hilarious. Appropriately political, and in-appropriately raukus – they’re a hoot! Ukrainian Gypsy Punk??? Ya! You just see if you can watch without tapping your feet or jumping in the air…

Definitely worth while seeing! Gogol Bordello had lots of energy kept the audience dancing- and I loved the GoGo dancers! A definite must see, even if you've never heard their music before.

  • SEE THIS BAND

by Jevro on 2009-10-06MacEwan Hall - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

probably one of the coolest bands ive seen, awesome stage presence..

  • It started out so well

by splmasta on 2009-10-06MacEwan Hall - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Anytime you enter an event and head towards the merch table and start laughing uncontrollably it's a good sign. They had one tee, image included, saying "This mustache kills fascists." I saw their show last year, which was awesome, but this time they had a better set list, better costumes for their gypsy cheerleader girls, and most importantly they had unbelievable amounts of energy. I wasn't entirely sure about the second vocalist(sorry I don't know his name) but for the first few songs his added energy was a nice touch. All in all an awesome show.

  • The most fun youll have with your pants on!

by Narc on 2009-10-06MacEwan Hall - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Gogol Bordello was once of the most, if not the most, impressive bands I have seen ever. The energy was amazing from the artist's. They sounded amazing and their performance was incredibly enjoyable. They are full of energy and show that they love to play thier music. I've got nothing good to say about them except the fact that it ended. But not just at the concert hall! They threw an after party and played more songs and the den, the local university bar. What a great band and what a great show! A must see.
