Great tradition. Very well executed. Loved that there were no late seating or ins and outs. Very enjoyable.
Enjoy it every time we go and we never get tired of watching all the talented dancers.
Really enjoyed the performance my first time attending a ballet show and wasn’t disappointed
The Goh Ballet’s performance of the Nutcracker was absolutely magical! I enjoyed every moment - the children were delightful, the costumes & sets were fabulous and the orchestra was excellent. But for me the principal dancers stole the show - watching them leap, twirl & glide across the stage was a true delight! My eyes were glued to their every movement as they transported me into to their magical land 💗
Amazing, flawless performance at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre but we showed up 10 minutes after the time on the ticket and they wouldn't seat us until intermission. This is after calling every number we could find & emailing the theatre days in advance to ask if the start time was when the doors open or when the show starts, could not get hold of anyone. We had to watch the play on a tiny TV in the lobby for the first half, basically missing the first half of the show. We were afraid to use the bathroom in the 10min intermission for fear that we'd take too long and they'd close the doors and refuse to let us in. Cannot believe that kids were able to sit still for the last hour of the show because I doubt they'd let anyone in or out even if there was an emergency! I understand the strict seating rules, but I really wish I had known ahead of time!
The concert itself was delightful, and the sets and lighting were especially gorgeous. But intermission was too short to get to the bathroom. Many in the lineup had to return to their seats without having used to loo. Also, the concession stand shut down due to machine malfunction. So all in all, quite a frustrating intermission, which put a damper on our experience.
The set decoration was great , music was fabulously as always. I loved all of it.
Amazing dancing and scenes… but age limit should be set .. I didn’t pay money to have my chair kicked, hair pulled and listen to a screaming 3 year old ..if a child can’t sit still for 45 mins don’t bring them … these dancers worked too hard to be distracted…
GREAT! except….. I happily spent $833 for 5 best seats and $44 for parking! …. and you couldn’t afford to give me but ONE program when we would have liked to have them for memories. You are acting like bush league ….. even your usher acted as if I was lying when I asked for a program because no one offered anyone in my party one. C’mon! Be better snobs! You can do it!
I've been going to this ballet for years now and it's always so well done. An excellent event for the Christmas season.
What I most enjoy about this ballet, is that it is different every year, and there are so many children who are involved in the program. The music provides continuity and stability to the stage presentation. The choreography for this year was excellent. Integration of the "little ones"was outstanding. The whole evening was a celebration of community and grace. For me, it was the best I have seen. I am grateful for the special efforts of all involved in the programme.
Excellent performance by all dancers. Enjoyed the entire show from beginning to end. The lambs were so cute
For the size of the city, Vancouver does not have much ballet, especially classic ballet so it was such a treat to go there. I used to go to ballet regularly so I missed it so much! How I wish that ballet was a regular show!
Great show, great music, the activities before the show were also great
It was a truly gorgeous show. But my gripe is actually about the orchestra. The string were a bit out of tune and actually sounded quite tinny thru the first act. It was a bit distracting. The second act the orchestra sounded more full. Also I was surprised they were out of programs. It was only the second show of the run. We were a group of 5 and none of us had a program. I went searching and there just were not any. According to all the ushers I asked. I do like to refer to a program during a show, so that was disappointing.
The Nutcracker was very entertaining. Gorgeous dancers with beautiful backdrops, props, and costuming. The story is a classic and the performance brings it to life.
This is my second year enjoying this incredible show. Absolutely amazing music and incredible dancing. My issue is with the restrooms, specifically, the women's restrooms. There simply are not enough women's washrooms at the Queen E for an event like this. The men's facilities have no lines, however women are in a line that extends across the entire theatre. Totally unacceptable. Women and children were not able to use the facilities by the time that intermission was over, whereas men were able to waltz in and out without a care. This is consistently an issue at this performance year after year. Please amend this issue.
Ballet was nice but intermission was rushed for a bathroom break. Especially with girls. Not enough time or bathrooms in the facility.
A fabulous show. Great sets. Wonderful dancers, adults and children. Really good music. I was truly entertained and look forward to seeing Goh Ballet's show next Christmas season.
Having lived for 82 years, and seeing so many performances of the Nutcracker Ballet, this one presented by the Goh ballet, was 'definitely' the most superior one...
