Another fantastic year! Loved the additions this year. A must see for the Christmas season.
This year's Nutcracker was very very enjoyable. I saw it last year and know I'll be buying tickets for Nutcracker 2025.
A lovely presentation. Enjoyed every minutes of it. Talented young dancers. See you next year !
This is one shoe that someone should see at least once preferably more than once. It should be a Christmas tradition. it is a great way to introduce anyone to the beautiful art of live theatre lots of family, fun, beautiful costumes music that we all relate to and have seen in film and TV brought to life by an amazing Orchestra. When you leave, you’re definitely will be in the Christmas spirit bring your family, friend or anyone who needs help getting into the Christmas spirit. Support local theatre and thriving community of artists.Set back and be transported to your childhood and a child to a wonderful fairytale
An annual tradition for my family. It never ceases to amaze us. Brilliant performance!
Surprised my fiancé with this show. She has aways wanted to see a big theater production, as she has never experienced one before. In particular, a ballet. So the Nutcracker was the perfect show to see as she absolutely loves the Christmas season. We both found the show to be amazing and very entertaining. We will definitely see again next year.
Family in front had a no show. Offered aisle seat to my granddaughter for a better view
I've seen a few different presentations of the Nutcracker, and this is hands down my favourite. The costumes and sets are amazing, they use a live orchestra, (other companies use pre-recorded, so cheap), and the dancers are all wonderful. Absolutely worth the extra cost.
The performance was flawless, the sets stunning and the music was superb. A definite must see.
I was excited to attend the Nutcracker by Goh Ballet only to feel disappointed as this performance is amateur at best, featuring a few guest ballet artists, who were brilliant. Most of the first act felt like a school performance, dancers were mediocre, expression was minimal. Decorations were stunning, but I'd prefer to see the ballet, not the decor. The Dance of the Snowflakes featured only 8 dancers, while other performances that I saw usually feature 20+ dancers. Act II was better than Act I as it featured guest artists more, but even with that I would highly recommend saving these $150 you are about to pay for the ticket and watch the Nutcracker by Bolshoi Theatre on YouTube instead.
This was the first time I saw Goh Ballet: The Nutcracker - and I was amazed at how beautiful it was! ♥️ Definitely planning on making it my annual Christmas tradition going forward!
Goh Ballet put on a really great production. I was really impressed! Everything was so magical: the costumes, set design, lighting, and of course the dancing! I love how they worked in some little humourous touches, as well, like the cheeky little black sheep. Standouts for me in the dancing were the Arabian dance pas-de-deux, the Cavalier Prince and Sugar Plum Fairy (both of whom were first-rate), the central soloist during the "Tea"("Chinese") dance, and the terrific young man in light blue (Marzipan?) whom I believe was an older teen student but did very well. The children in the production were all great, too -- I'm sure there were many proud parents and teachers out there!
Was awesome! I loved the kids, the ballet was extraordinarily, looking forward to seeing this event again
it was an excellent performance… the dancers were phenomenal and the set was lovely. The only negative was the people sitting beside us, who had their phones our recording and taking pictures , playing back videos during the performance. The performance - amazing. Such a wonderful evening. Fellow audience members - need to do better.
This is the best version of Goh Ballet’s Nutcracker we have seen! Wonderful dance, so many costumes, great music by Vancouver Opera, wonderful all the way around.
The audience found this experience, not just a ballet, but all that Christmas on stage is, and ought to be. We were brought into the storied dance, over and over again, with delightful invitations coreographed into the exquisite. colourful performance that didn't miss a step or beat. The corps de ballet, ideal. Perfect. The orchestra and the story melded as one and from the most experienced dancer to the youngest and smallest, it rang out to touch our holiday hearts. A very talented ballerina, the lithsome and lilting young star seemed to have invisible wings to crown the entire group with every graceful move of her elegant being. Such experience and training and discipline was seen of every member in the cast. From top to tiniest. Thank you for making this one of my most memorable Christmases.
The parts of the ballet we got to watch undisputed were fantastic however for much of the show, our seats were kicked, the family behind us were talking loud through the whole ballet, opening loud snacks, tossing coats over the back of our seats and disturbing the people ahead of us as well. We asked them multiple times to stop to no avail. This would have been seen as poor etiquette at a movie theatre let alone at the ballet. The ushers seemed to not notice or not care. In the past we have always given 5* but this performance, I’m sorry we just couldn’t enjoy under the circumstances.
Yesterday was my first time watching The Nutcracker. Theyears before something always kept happening and I was unable to obtain tickets. This year I did. I absolutely loved it!
Absolutely loved Goh Ballet's Nutcracker. Was a first rate performance. Was a first time for my 2 granddaughters seeing a live ballet performance. We had excellent seats and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Had a wonderful time. Great experience to get you into the Christmas spirit. Loved it. Very, very talented cast. Had a smile on my face the entire time. And the music oh my gosh spectacular!!!
