I saw this Musical on broadway in New York. This performance was just as good as the broadway performance. Cast is fantastic.

    Angst Plus!

by bayoubunny66 on 2013-11-29Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

An excellent performance of a musical that will become a fave of future high-school drama classes. So much energy! Such great songs! The theme has been done before but never this well. The staging, duplicating the Broadway version in large part, was wonderful and the actors and band were putting their all into it. Bad times with a touch of heroin addiction never looked so good.

    American Idiot well done!

by Jersey09 on 2013-11-29Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I went to the show not knowing what to expect, but left the show quite amazed. I was pleasantly surprised with the story(s) that unfolded throughout the show, and of course the music was awesome. Highly recommended for anyone who is a fan of GreenDay, musicals, or just live theater.

    American Idiot Rocked

by atangedal on 2013-11-29Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

We had a really great time. Loved that there was no intermission, so the show was a perfect length. Cast was fantastic. I did want to cover the kids eyes that were sitting in front of me, there is a warning on the show but not sure all the parents got it. The show is filled with sex, drugs and rock and roll, you may think your teen knows everything already but seeing it up close and personal, even though it is still acting is a bit different than watching it on TV. I did not mind and I really did enjoy the show.

Music was great... Choreography not so much...

by kmachman on 2013-11-29Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The set was very well thought out... other than some site lines where i could see actors changing in the sides. How can you go wrong with Green Day music? The band and singers were all amazing. The choreography was really not good... At times it was like watching a grade school play with some of the dancing they were doing. All in all not a bad play if you could get past the choreography.

Well executed but I wouldn't go back again.

by iheartSedins on 2012-06-11Paramount Theatre - Seattle

The musical was not what I had hoped. I expected more of a storyline and dialogue in addition to the Green Day songs. Instead, it was an hour and a half of constant singing with short monologues inserted here and there. Don't get me wrong. I love the American Idiot album so the songs were amazing, but I felt that I could have just listened to the album and gotten the same thing. The musical was too abstract for my liking. I guess I am used to the traditional format of musicals. Despite my disappointment with the storyline, I thought the performers and band sounded amazing. The set was also pretty awesome. It is what you would expect of Broadway. Recommendations: 1) Go ONLY if you super love Green Day 2) If you are anything like me, who prefer the traditional format of musicals, I would pass. 3) I wouldn't suggest bringing children unless they are really mature since this musical does deal with mature themes of sex (which they simulate on stage) and drug use.
