    Disappointment

by Cayne on 2013-09-03Christie Lake Conservation Area - Dundas

I paid $150.00 to see Neil Young. He cancelled and instead of a full refund I was left with an entire music festival of opening bands. Unacceptable!!

    gotta love Emmylou

by Anonymous on 2013-06-02Christie Lake - Hamilton

This was a great day, food was fantastic, weather was incredible, all the fans where great, you could leave your blanket set up and go wonder around talking to all the farmers and nobody touched your stuff. It was very impressive. Beer and wine was reasonable and there was free water!!! The sound was great and all the artist were very good. Mix Master Mike had everybody up grooving!! Can't wait for this year.

    amazing venue

by emeghan on 2012-09-05Christie Lake Conservation Area - Dundas

This was an expertly run concert. Never before have I been allowed to bring in blankets, chairs, and a cooler to a concert, but it made the day soooo much better. I really hope that this stays the same again for next year. Also, the beer was affordable, which was a really nice change! The venue was beautiful, and next year we will bring our swimsuits. Well done.

The event was overall fantastic. I enjoyed each and every performance thoroughly. I'd like to hear more talk from the farmers and performers as there was the first year. I think it's important to remind us that we're not just there for another outdoor concert. My main concern, however, is the garbage situation. GHP would do well to take a leaf out of the books of Mariposa and Home County and have manned waste stations so that people can't screw it up. On that same line, offering MANY more receptacles would go a long way to keeping garbage, recyclables and compost in their respective places.

Inspirational Music, Crafts and Orgnic Food!

by CelloChick on 2012-09-04Christie Lake Conservation Area - Dundas

What a perfect way to spend a day!! Beautiful natural setting....tall evergreens and .beautiful blue skies! There were free Thai Chi classes by a beautiful lake, where children were throwing in their fishing lines in one area or swimming in another. Gardening questions were being answered by knowledgable gardeners in a shady pavilion and cow milking demonstrations were given on the opposite side of the field. There were all different kinds of organic food to enjoy and the whole time, music filled the air all day long while people danced near the stage or drifted off to sleep on a blanket under a shady tree. How incredibly relaxing and fun! No wonder the event was so well attended! We went last year and we will go every year! thank you Harvest Picnic!

Emmylou Harris the highlight for me

by Bobbydyle on 2012-09-04Christie Lake Conservation Area - Dundas

A very well organized event from start to finish. The venue is perfect for this type of festival - I hope it carries on for many years. The mix of artists ensures that many different tastes will be satisfied. The sound system (for the most part) was excellent, although there was some unwanted distortion mid afternoon that was corrected. The artists were prompt and stayed to their allotted time (although of course we would have liked some encores, but know that due to the many artists, not possible). The prices for food and drink were surprisingly reasonable - there was no gouging as we were a captive audience. Much appreciated. Highly recommended for singles, couples and families of all ages.

Well organized, great line-up, terrific food choices, nice to have a beach to swim at. My only complaint was the lack of knowledge on the part of parking and front gate staff. I needed to get a ticket to a friend who was arriving later and I got differing instructions which cost me about an hour of time walking around to get my friend her ticket when I could have just met her at one of the gates. Otherwise, a fantastic event!! I'll recommend it to friends next year.

One of the most 'green' festivals I have been to - I loved fact that the it was not a money grabbing event - funds that were raised went to a valuable cause. I was especially appreciative that there was a water tank provided to fill my own water bottle - limiting the impact on our environment and avoiding an unnecessary cost to ticket holders. The local vendors (food & artisans) came out in full-support and they had great quality of products to sell. It was a fantastic venue with great sound quality, not to mention the line-up was unbelievably talented and all the performers put on a great show.

Harvest Picnic perfect ending to summer!

by Katters on 2012-09-03Christie Lake Conservation Area - Dundas

It was our first time to Christie Lake & the Greenbelt Harvest Picnic. We came before noon and got a great spot to sit near the stage. Then we checked out all the vendors and could enjoy the beautiful space before the crowds arrived. The event was so well organized and such a perfect way for families to conclude their summer. Everyone was happy with the setting, food, and especially the wide variety of music.

    Love the ladies!

by WillyZ on 2012-09-03Christie Lake Conservation Area - Dundas

Sarah Harmer was her usual amazing self...she brings a smile to my face every time I listen to her sing. This was my first time seeing Feist perform, and I wasn't disappointed. Great voice live, and really commands the stage. Emmylou Harris is a gem...
