This Canadian supergroup all hailing from the prairie provinces never fails to bring their everything to their shows! Each band member has an impressive list of experience with world wide famous artists. Drummer Shane Gaalaas has played with Michael Schenker, Yngwie Malmsteen, Uli Jon Roth and the B'z from Japan. Brent Fitz is the drummer with Slash, and also Bruce Kulick, and previously Alice Cooper, Gene Simmons, Union, Theory of a Deadman, Econoline Crush, Streetheart, Vince Neil, Harlequin, Sass Jordan etc. Cory Curko is the music director, guitarist and fiddler for Shania Twain. He has also played with Kelly Clarkson and Nelly Furtado and is one of the most sought after mix engineer/digital editors in the entertainment industry. Todd Kerns vocals are out of this world. Former lead singer of Age of Electric, Static in Stereo, Sin City Sinners, Raiding the Rock Vault and current bass player with Slash. They totally promote being Canadian and play covers of Classic Rock hits popular in Canada in the 80's. With 2 CD's behind them, and having just released an original song Never Enough For You, they are making a name on the concert circuits. Darby Mills joined them to sing Don't It Make You Feel. The whole crowd was singing and dancing the entire show. Those that had not seen them before were asking who are these guys, and that they were better than the entertainment in the big tent! The talent these 4 guys have is outstanding, check them out online!
We went around to quite a few of the team houses and everywhere people from all teams were partying and having a good time together. Only in Canada and only in the CFL can you put opposing team fans in a room together and see them become friends.
I enjoyed all the festivities. The tailgate will arty I chose to go to was not the greatest. I found it a little weird with the seating arrangements and the stage on the other side. Overall I really enjoyed it. Thank you Calgary ❤️
I had the good fortune to volunteer at the 2019 Grey Cup Festival and enjoyed every minute of it. I also attended the Grey Cup Rodeo which was a very entertaining and energetic event; loved it! George Canyon was stellar, our Stampeder Outriders a nice addition and the rodeo exciting! Our weather cooperated to make the outside activities even more enjoyable. The fireworks show was wonderful. The only event that didn't live up to expectations was the Fusion Indoor Tailgate party. This event was way too expensive for the poor value received (terrible food choices and badly managed coat check). Brett Kissel was excellent though; perhaps the $95.00 ticket was for his concert? Overall, the Festival was a huge success and great fun for adults and children.
The Grey Cup event was an exiting event and well planned but poorly communicated. More signs were needed on all sides of the stadium to include directions, event locations and notices including notices for no re-entry. Although we had bought tickets to the outdoor tailgate we enteted the stadium on the west side and were not able to exit on the east, where the event was being held, so we couldn't attend the event. In addition McMahon stadium has always done a poor job on sinage for washrooms and with the majority of guests unaware of where all of the washrooms are located the lineups were exvesively long.
We paid Over $200 for 2 tickets to the indoor tailgate party at the Grey Cup to be turned away because it was free admission after the game. Not impressed Grey Cup organization...not impressed!!😠
The Grey Cup festival in Calgary was so great. After having been to a few grey cups, I really appreciated the setup with all of the parties being located both in the same location and indoors in the BMO centre. It made it possible to go between all of the parties, and visit my friends regardless of which team they came to Calgary to support. I wish they had a single cover charge that would let you into ALL of the parties, so I didn't have to pay for each room separately. Having said that, the entertainment on site was top notch, and I had the most fun of all of the Grey Cups I've ever been to.
All in all a great weekend. Paid a big price for the indoor tailgate tickets but had NO accessible seats. After paying for entry, they let everyone in for free after the game (not impressed). Would really like to be able to buy non-alcoholic beer at the games. Not enough washrooms.
We were all about game day, and it was far from disappointing. The outdoor tailgate was awesome save the beer being expensive. Toque was an excellent choice for entertainment; a cover band doing all Canadian songs for a great Canadian game! Then the game. Winnipeg out coached and outplayed Hamilton on both sides of the field. The halftime show was great, engaging the crowd with lots of energy. And we lucked out with the weather. Couldn't ask for a better day
Loved having all of the Team parties in one building plus all of the outdoor activities at the Stampede grounds. Just made mobility at lot easier. Indoor tailgate on Sunday was great; Brett Kissel was awesome. Not sure if we got fair value for the $85.00 entry fee. Insufficient seating especially for the seniors. Picking up one's bag from the bag check was a frustrating experience (need to manage the lines better!!!). Grey Cup game was really good and half time show with Keith Urban was probably the best in my 21 years of attending Grey Cup.
Well planned and put together. Great events for all ages. Rodeo was a fantastic idea and was done very well. Keith Urban put on a fantastic half time show. The outdoor tailgate party was really fun and a good way to get people together before the game. Only thing I would suggest was to have had some more choices for food at the Grey Cup festival grounds at the Stampede showcasing the great BBQ style food that Calgary is famous for like BBQ ribs, hamburgers, hotdogs, smokies etc. Not just the regular food that is served from behind the counter. Thanks for an awesome Grey Cup experience!!
Music was perfect for getting the crowd geared up before the game. Bar accessibility was good; enough venues and timely service. Could have had more tables but otherwise very good.
Terrible!!! Made people pay 100 dollars to get in and then gave everyone free admission anyways. Total rip off.
The band was good but the same one as in the stamps room Friday night and same show. $35 plus plus to stand around in line for a beer and crappy food and expensive hamburgers and hot dogs. Complete money grab in the same location where I tailgated all season long with friends and good food for nothing. Complete money grab. You fooled me this time, but not again. Grey cup tickets ridiculously expensive. I The whole experience was forgettable. As a result, I will not be renewing my stamps season tickets next year. The game itself was fine though.
GreyCup 2019 was a great weekend party. The greycup rodeo was a amazing addition. Great action, moans and groans from cowboys and girls showing their amazing abilities. Not sure how they do it but “Ouch!”
Great bands, sound was good and lots of room for everyone. We danced all night
Dear Rouge and Our Lady Peace had great energy; could've done without I Mother Earth tho as having all three bands made it a long evening on a cement floor. We ended up sitting along the wall for awhile since all the seating was taken. Music sounded much better closer to the stage as the acoustics at the back of the hall weren't great. We did enjoy how big the hall was as we never felt like we were in a crowd of people making it much easier to wander around.
You ripped off all the spectators on the east side of the stadium for the performances at the grey cup game. The performers were facing the west side. The performers equipment blocked any view of the performers and the visual effects. Was advised earlier that the showcase would be at the end zone , the same as the musical performances during the season. Please inform as to how to get compensation .
Loved the skill, talent and comradery of the Cheerextravanga! Phenomenal show! I was only dissatisfied with ticketmaster in regards to only being able to have the ticket on my phone rather than being able to print it... Not all people have phones that are smart! And our party of 4 arrived separately.. Transferring tickets to them and having them create an acct was a hassle. Please allow the capability of printing!
