  • Harlem Choir Okay

by Dodger1 on 2010-10-06B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

The Harlem Gospel Choir was disappointing. The whole experience could best be described as only "okay." People were crammed together in the room, the food was "okay", and the performance was the same...lots of talent on stage but they sang for little more than an hour and....why do these women insist on yelling into the microphones??? Show us the range of your voice! That means soft at times and powerful at others. I do have to admit that considering the reasonable price for NYC, this event did give value for money. It's just that with a few tweaks this performance could be really outstanding...the talent is there. And get rid of the "Big Boss" MC. He serves no purpose and is annoying.

  • Food sucked-Choir was small

by Marezydoats on 2010-08-23B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 2 out of 5

Bb kings club in NY was dingy, just like you'd expect for a Blues club, that was great! The food was fried, boiled and creamed. Southern food does tend to be heavy in the calories but unfortunately the food was bland. Too bad. The choir was OK. There were few outstanding voices and performances that make going worth while, but decide how important the food is to you. The choir was only 7 members, a few less than I expected.,

  • so so

by NYCity10011 on 2009-09-14B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

There were moments of greatness here and there, but the music was constantly interrupted by the gentleman who founded the choir. He did have much to say. A simple welcome at the beginning of the performance and a nice goodbye would have been perfect, but to come out and talk, not to say "improvise", between every song was a little too much. It felt like the was wasting time between songs. The food was good. The service was good.
