harry manx put on an amazing show - as always! bring him back sooooon!
The review title says it all Harry Manx is always more than worth the price of admission
Our first time at the new renovated West End Cultural Centre in Winnipeg. And what a treat! We went with friends who hadn't heard of Harry. We'd heard him at the Wpg. Folk Fest a few years ago, and have loved his music since. All of us were enthralled by his music performance - brilliant instrumentalist, great raspy blues singer, charming spirit, and powerful bridge between blues and eastern musical traditions. His connection to the audience was tangible. Why isn't he better known? Doesn't figure.
Just heard of Harry Manx a week ago by chance as we were out for dinner and they were playing In Good We Trust. Made us instant fans and saw him last night at the WECC in Winnipeg. Awesome show!
I love the Blues, my girlfriend loves East Indian music. The combination of his music satisfied us both. I loved that he talked to his audience and took requests. I loved the show and wish I could go again. Thanks Harry.
Have been attending occasional Harry Manx concerts since I saw him at the Calgary Folk Fest perhaps 10 years ago now? Love his *vibe*, the mohan 20 string guitar made in Calcutta, the type of music, the man behind the music, his sense of humour and the traditional knitted hat. Knox United Church was lovely partly because of the acoustics in there which were perfect for Harry's music. However I was in the first few rows, and I know you can't see very well from further back. And darn those church pews are hard! (penance for all our sins? lol)
a great evening of that smooth raga blues, and by the way good keyboards
the show was fabulous ! I would see him again in an instant ! Knox United Church is also very lovely.
I have seen Harry Manx a few times now, and every time I am impressed. The venue - knox united church - has great acoustics, and inventive seating.
This concert represented what a true musician and entertainer should present as. Harry was coming off an exhausting schedule, and still showed up 110%, with energy , passion, joy, and authentic appreciation for his audience. I have had the privilege of promoting dozens of concerts in a previous life, and this was on of the best on many levels. Oh yeah...the music transcended...Thanx Harry
Harry Manx did not fail to amaze and awe me. I can not even walk and chew gum and he is palying a drum with his foot, playing the harmonica, playing the slide guitar and singing all at the same time! His back up key board player had excellent timing and was fun to watch. Will see him again. The seat at the church are as I should have expected very hard, but still a nice venue.
I was totally taken by Harry. It was an absolut treat to hear him play. I would love to see him again, the next time he gets a chance to pass through. Amazing!
We drove in from Banff for the show and had a great night. Great performers, great venue, amazing sound - a lot of fun. Harry Manx should come and play at the Banff Center in Banff......he's fantastic and would sell out! Thank you for a wonderful time.
I have seen Harry Manx perform live on several occasions and he always engages the audience and keeps everyone entertained with the variety of his style of music. Well worth for anyone who is not familiar with him to check his performances out.
