A New Way to Enjoy Harry Potter!

by Gurdy on 2017-07-02Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

This was our first LIVE concert movie event We had great (But expensive) seats and the Toronto Symphony orchestra was absolutely phenomenal! The performance by the musicians was so good that it was hard to not realize that the music was not 100% part of the film. I thought that the sub-titles would be bothersome but they proved to be useful to actually pick-up dialogue that was easily missed when watching the film without it. The audience reactions and involvement in certain parts during the performances was a lot of fun! We already booked our seats for the next event in October for "Chamber of Secrets."

    A little too close

by CheekyMonkey888 on 2017-07-02Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Enjoyable but for the selfish person in front who wouldn't get off her phone during the first half of the show (and was rude when we asked her to stop).

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone/TSO

by Sooty on 2017-07-01Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

A wonderful experience. I had forgotten most of this movie so relived it again and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra playing in front of the screen just enhanced the enjoyment! Looking forward to the second such event - Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in October.

Very expensive way to watch a movie

by McC5718 on 2017-07-01Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Because the entire film is playing you forget the TSO is even there. The few times I did notice the orchestra Harry Potter fans were clapping and screaming for something happening on screen and the music was drowned out. If you're planning to head to one of these shows to experience the orchestra, don't bother. If you want to pay $90 watch Harry Potter then this would be ideal.

Harry Potter and Philospher's Stone WAs incredible

by HuffleRaven on 2017-06-30Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I've seen the TSO make movie magic before. I was overjoyed when one of my favourite series of books and movies were brought to the Sony Centre. I bought tickets for HP and PS and then tickets minutes later for HP and Chamber of Secrets. I only wish I didn't have to wait until October to see it! I brought my parents as a 49th wedding anniversary gift, my best friend, my brother and his family and 3 friends from the school I work at. All 12 of us loved it. Just my best friend and I are going in October but my brother and my friends want to go in October too. WE need all 7 movies in Toronto!!!

    A magical evening!

by ewooap on 2017-06-30Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

A wonderful way to celebrate 20 years of Harry Potter & the Philosopher's Stone! Hearing John Williams' full film score live was truly something - and Sony Centre is one of my favourite venues, as there is not a bad seat in the house. Loved experiencing it with an enthusiastic crowd of fans too - audience was encouraged to cheer/boo/applaud their favourite & not-so-favourite characters and scenes. Bravo Toronto Symphony Orchestra! Thanks for the magical evening.
