We took my Dad to see Herb Alpert. I had little to no expectations, but we were completely blown away! Herb danced onto the stage. He's 90! His lungs were still strong. His stories were amazing. His wonderful wife of 52 years came on stage and sang a medley of songs she performed with Sergio Mendes. It was an awesome evening. Could not recommend it more!

  • Fantastic!

It was a nostalgic return to my youth in the 60s, it was a toe tapping, head bobbing time with fantastic sounding music. Herb Alpert was engaging and the best surprise was to see his wife come on stage and sing for us. I highly recommend this show for all folks, especially those that grew up at the best time for new music.

  • Fabulous and exhilarating!

  • Dude is 90 and still bringing it strong!

by Tweakjunkie on 2025-10-05Burton Cummings Theatre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

He struts out on stage doing a little dance, looking as spry as a spring chicken. His horn playing was spot on. Band was amazing, tight and perfect. Many times I closed my eyes and it was JUST LIKE listening to the album. Great production and mixing. Glad I saw this show, I would have regretted not going. He's a Legend, and the Legend delivered. AAA+++

  • A legend and a treasure.

Just a fantastic show, from the opening notes of Lonely Bull…a journey thru timeless hits that left me feeling like I’ve seen a truly great concert.

One of the best concerts I've ever been to. The sound was fantastic, and the musicianship absolutely amazing. Mr. Alpert is a true gem.

  • An awesome evening

We both had a great time. Everyone including the pianist, bass player and drummer were also amazing! Looking forward for the next event. Also, the amphitheatre is just the right size for that type of concert.

  • More!!!

by Alain on 2023-05-20Algonquin Commons Theatre - NepeanRating: 4 out of 5

When you consider the vast majority of people attending may never have had the chance to see him live before, and that they all have a favorite piece of music, it was a little more than disaopointing to have all the hits mixed into a 3-5 minute medley that just left me wanting more! The first half saw Herb being drowned out by every single instrument on stage. Someone there didn't do their homework of sound checking. The quality of the show, however was stunning! The musicians were excellent and I would have listened to them play just about anything all night long! Lani was absolutely perfect. What a voice. A great discovery for me.

  • Great show

Herb Alpert is truly a legend. Still performing beautifully at 88 and interacting with the audience, joking around and taking questions all was priceless. His influence on today’s music is definitely felt. So happy we were able to see in person whose music was EVERYWHERE in the 60s and 70s. Hope to see him again.

  • Enjoyable

Wonderful nostalgia, terrific musicians. No strobe lights to irritate nor blasting sounds to give the audience a headache. Just an enjoyable, stress free 2 hours.

  • It was a privilege to be part of that audience.

Fantastic show in a fantastic venue; viewed from incredible seats. It was wonderful to see them exchange loving looks while the other performed. Beautiful.

  • A show for every generation!

Watched Herb Alpert with 3 generations, youngest 23 year old. An incredible show full of stories and joy. The musicians are incredible. The video and art and photos accompanying the show was a delight. Would see Herb Albert anytime I got the chance.

  • Great concert…loved it

    by L. H. on 2023-05-20Algonquin Commons Theatre - NepeanRating: 5 out of 5

It was an intimate evening with Herb Alpert, a stroll down memory lane. Piano, 12 string electric bass, one set of drums, and Mr. Albert and his trumpet made for a magical evening. True professionals at the peak Of their powers. Mr. Albert was not alone. He was accompanied by his wife of over 50 years. She sang, and he played the horn. If you love your music, with a hint of sophistication wrapped up in simplicity, that was the place to be that evening.

  • So worth the wait

I purchased our front row center tickets in Nov/21 and was so grateful we finally experienced such legends on May 17/23! Incredible human beings in addition to being so talented

  • And ode to love and simpler times

by Trish on 2023-05-20Algonquin Commons Theatre - NepeanRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the concert. Herb Alpert’s music was his message - upbeat, creative and provocative. It was a celebration of love, life and pizzazz. He and Lani are also emblematic of aging well. The concert was a joy and left me with lots to ponder.

  • One of the all-time greats!

by MichaelK on 2023-05-20Algonquin Commons Theatre - NepeanRating: 5 out of 5

Herb Alpert not only took us back to the great hits of the past, but reminded us that as a musician and performer he is still innovating and making incredible music. A legendary figure, an outstanding show!

  • Memory Lane

by Music Lover on 2023-05-20Algonquin Commons Theatre - NepeanRating: 5 out of 5

A life long fan of Herb Alpert who has provided decades of really timeless music. Proud owner of his very famous album and album cover, Whipped Cream and Other Delights. It was a treat to see Herb so effortlessly play his classics with all the video and pictures of his career playing on the screen in the background... a real trip down memory lane. His wife Lani Hall was in great voice, his band tight and terrific. Herb's easy back and forth repartee with the audience was fun to hear. Just a great night all around. So glad I finally got to see one of my all-time favorites.

  • Brilliant!

This guy is amazing. Brilliant trumpet, great review of music we know, pleasant intro to the new music! I flew out from BC to enjoy this concert with my sister. We have been listening to him our whole lives. Catch him before he quits performing!

Excellent venue. Loved the old films playing behind. If any criticism the concert was too short! Would have enjoyed more time.

  • Was very good until...

by Johnny Fairway on 2023-05-17FirstOntario Concert Hall - HamiltonRating: 3 out of 5

Really looked forward to this concert, had never seen them before but was fan of their music over the decades. Concert was great, good stories etc, but he played a short medley of his most memorable songs, I was hoping he would get back to them and maybe close with a couple of maybe Spanish Flea, Lonely Bull, Highway 101, etc, etc. At one point Herb said "this will be the first of of two closing songs, so don’t go away after it" or words to that effect. Which made everyone think it was going to be a short intermission. But the group then played for another half hour maybe then wrapped up and walked off, all done. No iconic finishing songs. I thought "OK we’ll cheer him back on for an encore". But all the lights came up and that was it, game over. People may have come from 75 miles away for a concert of one of their idols, and he left them hanging. Total time of the show, one hour 20 minutes, with no big finish and no encore. Yes it was good, as far as it went, but somewhat disappointing Herb and Lani and friends. Yes you are getting up there and we appreciate you still gettin' 'er done, but if you are too old to put on a great or even very good show, then hang it up.
