I go to school on the East Coast so I've seen Hey Rosetta! a handful of times already. They really took the cake this time around, though. Very high-energy show (for some perhaps a little too high-energy, there were 3-4 obnoxious drunk moshers who apparently got lost on their way to The Pixies or something) and the band was quite receptive to the enthusiastic reception by the crowd. Biggest disappointment was the exclusion of Old Crow Black Night Stand Still from their setlist, imo its their best song. Regardless, I can't recommend them enough if you have the chance to see them live.

    great show

by VanCityConcerts on 2011-11-13Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Opening band: The Jezabels. In Australia, the Jezabels would for sure be the feature event, so to have them as an opening band was amazing. They play some great music and the lead singer has an incredible voice. Hey Rosetta! was even better. One of the highest energy concerts I've ever been to. The fact that it was at the Commodore helps that a bit too I guess. I really liked how some of them interacted with the crowd sometimes. Or when every single one of them was so into their music and they are all rockin out so hard on stage.

    Best concert ever

by gidge on 2011-10-14Bluesfest - Ottawa

Saw the band at Bluesfest in Ottawa, during the crazy storm that we had to wait an hour in the rain for the band to play again thanks to the promoters! Was worth every minute of the wait though as they were totally amazing. Anyone who was there will agree that when the band members came out in the rain and played Bandages acoustically it sent shivers down the spine. I love Hey Rosetta albums, but they are even more amazing live, can't wait to see them again.

Everything you would expect and more!

An amazing band to see live. They somehow make their recorded music sound even better live (and it is already phenomenal). Bursting with talent and only getting better with time. Go see them while they still play smaller venues... because it won’t be long until the move up.

HR! is an awesome live band but 2nd album is best

    by Pegger2011 on 2011-03-02The Pyramid - Winnipeg

As usual, HR! just killed in the live performance. They played a mixture of songs from their new album Seeds and second album Into Your Lungs. Let's be honest now guys...don't you love Into Your Lungs the best??? Seeds has some nice songs, like "Yer Spring", but not nearly as gem-filled as the second album. The new single "Welcome" has nice lyrics but musically just comes across as LOUD..."Yer Spring" would have made a better choice for the single. "There's an Arc", "New Goodbye", "We Made a Pact", "Psalm" and "Red Heart" are unforgettable classic songs...

    Hey Rosetta! A Canadian treasure.

Hey Rosetta! delighted my ears, rejuvenated my soul, awakened my dancing feet, and made my heart soar. They are a perfect example of the phenomenal music Canada has to offer. I cannot wait to see them play again (and again... and again...).

Move over Arcade Fire...Rosetta's coming to town.!

    by Opie1 on 2011-02-28Lee's Palace - Toronto

I've seen the future of alternative Canadian rock music and you have to look further east than Montreal to find it...in fact all the way to St. John's, NL - indeed, literally, to The Rock (pardon the pun)...! Fortunately for us, Hey Rosetta was in TO this past week in support of their outstanding new CD release "Seeds". And judging by last Wednesday's sold-out performance at Lee's Palace, this talented ensemble led by frontman Tim Baker, has proven itself to be the orchestral equal of Arcade Fire as one of Canada's best live acts. And with Arcade Fire now in 'Grammy" territory...Hey Rosetta! can't be far behind in getting the national and international recognition it truly deserves. Wish I could have been at the Thursday night show - I'm sure it was no less amazing.

    Hey Rosetta FANTASTIC

by Rosseta on 2011-02-26Lee's Palace - Toronto

Unbelievable concert. Venue was great and the band was awesome. Can't say enoough of the quality of entertainment and finally tickets that were affordable to poor university students. Well done.

    Hey Rosetta! Rocks

by Singtao on 2011-02-26Lee's Palace - Toronto

Are you kidding me? That was the best show I've seen in a long time. Great sound. Tim seemed to be channeling David Byrne and Thom Yorke. I'll be there next time they're through too.

    Hey Rosetta!

by nohood on 2011-02-25Lee's Palace - Toronto

I thoroughly enjoyed Hey Rosetta! It was great showmanship, creative, passionate and interesting throughout the whole set. The singer was amazing - he sounded exactly like the recordings. I would recommend this band to everyone! However! They set up right after the opening band and then proceeded to wait almost 45 minutes to actually come on and play! Immediate hatred! They also had a complex light system throughout the show which I felt didn't fit the indie/east coast feel of their band. And finally, they had an extremely forced encore at the end. I hate encores. Just play your songs and leave. Especially when the guitarist was tuning his guitar for the encore songs before walking off-stage. Waiting, light shows and encores make the band seem pretentious, and I don't think they are, so I wish in the future they leave that stuff behind. Overall though, it was awesome. Support this band!

    Down to earth and amazing!!

by Mass on 2011-02-22THE CAPITAL MUSIC HALL - Ottawa

My friend and I got there late and missed the start of the show. It was too bad because the rest of the show was amazing!!! The band blew us away. So talented and you could see the chemistry between the members. Truly amazing. At the end of the show we had to wait to get out so we hung around and watched the crew pack up. We then noticed that the band members were also part of the crew packing up the instruments and stuff. We thought, wow. That was pretty down to earth. Oh, and each and every band member is blessed with good looks!
