  • Happy "Holly-days" !

Christmas just wouldn't be the same without a visit from Holly Cole... This year was no exception, and she and her ensemble put on another steller performance for the sold out crowd at the NAC. She didn't really perform as many Christmas themed songs as we were expecting from an event themed as a Christmas show, but it was still a wonderful evening. This particular show was also being recorded for a Christmas Eve / Day broadcast on CBC Radio 2, so the performance was somewhat less formal, with extra takes being recorded with the audience participation. The icing on the proverbial Christmas cake, was that Holly also took the time to do a meet and greet after the show, signing autographs and taking photos with her fans here in Ottawa ! Definitely a high water mark of the Christmas season !

  • Holly Cole is the start of Christmas

A beautiful intimate concert. Holly Cole makes the audience feel like they are invited guests if not family. Her obvious joy in the music was infectious and the audience responded. A mix of old favorites and new songs with a sprinkling of holiday tunes delivered in a new way. A fantastic evening of great jazz by superb musicians.

  • Holly Cole performs smooth jazz

Holly Cole used to perform New Years Eve shows in Ottawa, then she took a break for a few years. She is back and still has the chops! Her vocals are strong, fresh, and smooth. Her song selection for this show included new material from her recent album, Night, and a few classics and Christmas songs. As usual she bantered a bit with the audience, in English and French. She featured a terrific saxophonist, Colleen Allen.
