What is Vancouver Sevens?

Three days of world-class rugby, paired with the best costume party you've ever seen! This weekend is forecast for rugby with a high chance of a party. After years of success in Vancouver, this has become an iconic tradition, and this is surely Your Year. Still not convinced? Here are Seven reasons why you should be coming to Vancouver Sevens:

1. It's the best party in town, with an electric atmosphere that you have to experience for yourself!

2. The best teams in the world all under one roof at BC Place. Will returning champions like Argentina and New Zealand top the podium, or will we see an underdog take the number one spot?

3. Canada's own women's Olympic rugby silver medallists on home soil. Cheer on our Olympic medal-winning squad right here in Vancouver!

4. The globally renowned costume party. The fancy dress tradition turns a weekend in February into Halloween like you've never seen it before.

5. Three full days of world class sport in your backyard. The three-day pass gives you access to the entire tournament, so you can follow your favourite teams from first kick-off on Friday all the way through to Sunday's grand finale. Sports!

6. This is the longest running annual sports event of this size and scale in Vancouver. Come see what the fuss is all about!

7. There's something for everyone. Want to introduce your little ones to rugby? Stay tuned for more on opportunities for them to get on the pitch at BC Place!

  • awesome weekend

    by Godsquad1 on 2016-03-16BC Place - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

The games were excellent and I was able to get great seats both days. The weekend was a perfect father & son get away. I was disappointed about the re-entry policy

  • Vancouver 7"s

by PJdad on 2016-03-16BC Place - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

One of the most amazing events I have attended. The only thing keeping from a 5 star rating for me was the how late they opened the gates. On Saturday the gates opened at 9:15 with the first game starting at 9:30, many fans missed the first game. Sunday was also a challenge at the gates, once people were lined up they changed how they wanted people to enter and this created too much tension and slowed down entry. But I am sure BC place will correct this next year.

What a fun weekend. The games were fast, the crowd was very fun. Vancouver did a great job hosting this event. Glad to know it will be here the next three years. It is well worth attending even if you don't follow rugby (I don't). A great family day!

  • Canada LOVES Rugby!

    by RugbyFan88 on 2016-03-16BC Place - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great experience overall with only a few glitches that need to be worked out before next year. Such as beer lines and food lines, having more places or more people worked. Although the lines got better on Sunday, So I have to say the staff at BC place overall did an AMAZING Job.

  • Full Enjoyment

by Soccey on 2016-03-16BC Place - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

This was an amazing event from start to finish. The event crew, the players, the fans (young and old) did a great job off allowing this to be a true celebration of rugby and a tribute to the great game in the world.

It was a festival of rugby unlike anything seen in Canada before! 2 days of adrenaline (and alcohol) fueled rugby excitement! This event is only going to get bigger and better next year! Get your seats early as this event is high on everyone's calendar for next year!

    by Sofie786 on 2016-03-16BC Place - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

By far the best sporting event I have been too. The back to back game were exciting to watch. The atmosphere in the building was electric. Everyone cheering for all teams. Overall awesome experience. Well organized. Time flew by so fast.Just recommend opening doors a bit earlier so everyone can get on and settle down before first game.

  • Vancouver rugby sevens

by Nrhvancouver on 2016-03-16BC Place - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

This was the best sports event that I have been to in Vancouver. A great weekend of rugby and a fantastic, fun crowd. It rivals the hongkong sevens and is far better than the Vegas sevens.

  • Good event but overpriced facilities.

by Edzter on 2016-03-15BC Place - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

This was a great event but beer ($8.50 Bud, $10.50 tall boys) was way too much. $4.75 for a Pepsi or a bottle of water was also too much. Food prices were also pretty high. There was a lack of activities or entertainment outside of the rugby games, compared to similar tournaments I have been to. Otherwise the event was well run.

by hellosandy on 2016-03-15BC Place - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

It was wonderful to see Vancouver totally into the event. Lots of dressing up and spirit! One of the better events held in Vancouver. BC place was a great venue to host the Rugby 7s.

  • Phenomenal Event

What a great event - lots of fun, lots of excitement, will definitely be back next time!

  • HSBC Canada 7s Vancouver was an amazing experience

by IrishGurl on 2016-03-15BC Place - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Can't wait for next year! Do not use the box office, lined up for over 45 minutes for tickets missed the first two games as they team was not prepared. Not enough food and beverage vendors open. Extremely long lines. But overall the full day was a great event!

  • Fun times at the Rugby 7's Vancouver

    by Trish83 on 2016-03-15BC Place - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

What a fun event. Hope it comes back next year. Would love to go again. I would recommend some changes if the event comes back. Doors to the stadium should open at least 45mins before the first game/even 1hour prior -30mins was not enough time for that many people to go thru security/get in before the first game and get their seats -especially if they had GA seats. Beer stands did not open until 1pm -should have been 12pm as this caused long wait times at the food stands when they opened at 11am -people were waiting for both food/beer for an hour. At 5pm we had to wait for food at one food stand -as they had run out and had to go to the kitchen to get more. but all in all, a great event -hosting staff were great, nice to see the security/vpd present just in case.

  • Finally Vancouver!

by Thunderballs on 2016-03-15BC Place - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

For the last 5 years we have gone down to Vegas to watch the super 7’s and it has been a great time for us . Vancouver sponsors have put on an absolutely amazing event and I’m looking forward to spending my money here for the next 5 years.

  • Great event

by autodraw on 2016-03-15BC Place - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

The rugby was great, good venue however getting into the event was a nightmare. No staff outside to organize the line ups, no rhyme or reason for line ups resulting in long delays. Games started at 9:30 am so doors should have been opened earlier than 9:00am due to large number of ticket holders and the need for bag searches. We missed the first part of the matches as a result. BC Place should get a handle on this before next years event. Also we had general admission only to find a large section had handmade reserved signs for a charity event(section 218) which seemed unfair.
