About

Il Divo, the internationally renowned classical crossover quartet, were formed in the U.K. by television personality and veteran record executive Simon Cowell in 2004. The original lineup reflected the group’s boundless inspirations and universal appeal, with each member hailing from a different country: tenor David Miller from the United States, tenor Urs Bühler from Switzerland, baritone Sébastien Izambard from France, and the late baritone Carlos Marín from Spain. Starting with their 2004 self-titled debut album, Il Divo have released five Top 10 albums and sold over 30 million records worldwide. 2005’s Ancora became Il Divo’s first No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and their 2009 world tour earned the group the Billboard Breakthrough Award for making Billboard Boxscore’s top tour recap for the first time in their career. Over two decades, the quartet have experimented with a blend of opera and pop, reinventing standards from Motown to Christmas classics and collaborating with Celine Dion, Toni Braxton, Leona Lewis, and more. Following the loss of Marín in December 2021, in 2023, American baritone Steven LaBrie became a full-time member.

    Wow !!

by Cootrmae on 2023-02-26OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino - Niagara Falls

Unbelievable ! Incredible ! Outstanding ! We laughed we cried we danced we sang. Their voices are as strong in person as they are on a recording. The way they include the audience, make you feel part of it. Please bring them back !!!!!

Review of experience leaves me disappointed

by Zella on 2023-02-26OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino - Niagara Falls

Need to give some type of direction to people going to show for the first time. Consider putting in a walking track (like at airport) for the long stretches. $50 for parking is outrageous. You will lose customers due to this cost. What is name of your new theater...OLG Stage? Theatre is very nice, great lighting. Tight passing people to get to your seat. Permanent cup holders in the way. Taking bottled water from ticket holders is ridiculous. Yes a concession stand is inside selling 1 bottle of water for $7. Il Devo were okay but off key at times. They need to practice harmony when all 4 are singing. All in all for my first visit to this theatre and show I'd rate it 6 1/2 out of 10.

Terrible venue! It was up close and personal though!

by il divo follower + 1 on 2019-12-02Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

the sound mixing was terrible and the venue was not the most appropriate for their voices -- it might have been if the sound technicians were better at what they do. These singers have magnificent voices and sometimes they sounded just loud. I love this group and have been to every concert they have given in GTA. Compared to their last Xmas concert at Roy Thomson Hall, this venue left a lot to be desired as it clearly is in need of an overhaul.

    Il Divo Christmas Show

by My Show experience on 2019-11-30Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

The "Boys" did their usual good show. A Christmas tune or two more would have been more to my liking, but the show was quite acceptable. As for the sound system, the gain on the string base could have been a little lower - I felt it was too loud - sometimes overpowering the boys' voices. However, I do have a problem with the pricing of the tickets. We paid $1600.00+ for two Meet & Greet tickets and two seats in the third row, on the right side of the venue. When we spoke to two ladies who were sitting in front of us, we discovered that they paid only $800(+/-) for the same access to the show and meet & greet. To my mind, there is a big discrepancy in the pricing and I wish to have an explanation. Incidentally, this was the 40th concert we have attended

A truly wonderful, beautiful and memorable concert.

by Vicky on 2019-11-29Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

The audio was slightly off, with the sound of the orchestra drowning out the voices of Il Divo in crescendo moments. The solo parts were not affected and the audio mix improved in the latter part of the concert. There was a person who took a tumble down the stairs near us. In this regard, the lighting on the stairs at the venue could have been better. There were no ushers or venue personnel to direct people to seats and I think also contributed to the mishap.

Concert: great! Venue: not so much!

by Doina on 2019-11-29Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

Il Divo performed a good selection of holiday-themed and inspirational songs. They sang their hearts out, as usual, and took turns sharing their favourite childhood Christmas memories. It was a very enjoyable experience, due to the intimate size of the theater and the high quality of sound (much better acoustics than the last time I saw them at Casino Rama). On a side note (not necessarily Il Divo's fault): the venue leaves a lot to be desired. The carpet and upholstery need to be replaced, at the very least. Conclusion: A five-star performance in a three-star venue, still worth every penny, as the quality of the entertainment could not be overshadowed by the rather modest surroundings.

Awesome, beautiful concert, but disappointing venue

by Couple on 2019-11-29Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

No words can describe our enjoyment. Il Divo gave an awesome performance, full with beautiful songs, and our favourite Adagio was performed. That being said, Queen Elizabeth Theater is a sight to behold... not. It's in disrepair, everything's half broken and in a sore need of a major reno. It's a shame to bring renowned artists to such a sorry excuse for a concert hall.

    Il divo

by Il divo fan on 2019-11-29Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

The venue was not up to the standards that I thought they would play in. It was dirty and it smelt. The sound at times was also off and the lighting crew was a bit off. Otherwise of course il divo was amazing !!!!

The Good. The Bad. And the Ugly

by Angelina on 2019-11-29Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

The music was good. Excellent actually. The length of the concert was bad. Very disappointing. It started at 8:15 and already by 9:20 David announced the last song. They did sing a few more for the encore, but overall disappointing. Most concerts are at least 2 hours. The ugly? The venue. The Elizabeth Théâtre is old and run down. Seats are ripped and stained. If I closed my eyes, I could enjoy the music. Otherwise it felt seedy. I would definitely see Il Divo again, but not for $200/ticket for just 70-80 minutes. And one more thing. Nothing like black tuxes/suits and white open collar dress shirts. I feel like they’ve lost that European look.

I’ll Divo at Queen Elizabeth Theatre

by JR on 2019-11-29Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

Il Divo gave a terrific performance as always. However the concert was only 90 mins. of beautiful music. Considering what we paid for the tickets we expected longer and better sound. We enjoyed the live orchestra but they over powered the voices at times which I have never experienced in their shows before. There were times when we could not hear the words they sang and that never happens. We missed seeing them do their usual gran finale by coming out on stage in formal attire to sing their “ usual “Goodbye” song. They didn’t have another performer to open for them as I have seen before which would have made the concert longer, but we came to see Il Divo and we got 90 mins of them plus an encore and that was fabulous. We were a little underwhelmed by The setting at Queen Elizabeth Theatre, Although it made for a more intimate setting with the group but somehow made the whole show feel less classy. The venue didn’t match the class act of Il Divo. It was not their usual perfect performance. Would prefer to see them at Roy Thompson Hall.
