Absolutely amazing. The way she interacted with the audience, and just made everyone in the whole place laugh. Amazing vocalist, it was an amazing night.

  • Fab show!

by fabavg on 2012-04-12The Phoenix Concert Theatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Opening with "Fire", Ingrid put on a great show which included some greats like "Solider", "Parachute" and "The Chain", and a number of other singles from her latest album Human Again like "This is War", "Do it Now", "Ribbons" and "Black and Blue". She was extremely engaging with the crowd, the most I've probably seen of any artist at any concert. I'd say the acoustics may have been improved as her voice was a little hard to hear (perhaps it was because we stood at the back). No lighting or video effects but I wouldn't expect that from her. In fact, I was quite surprised how large her band was. And we were surprised she didn't do her other classic "Be OK". That was a little disappointing as we wanted to hear it live. But overall, a great intimate, show. Her singing seemed flawless.

I had never been to the Phoenix Concert Theatre before. I have to say that it was a great venue and it was packed with Ingrid Michaelson fans. Ingrid engaged the audience and made it feel like we were all just chilling in our livingroom with friends. I'm definitely going to her next concert. She sounds even better live.

Ingrid is such a talented musician with a great voice, and she is absolutely hilarious!!! The smaller venue makes it feel like you're just hanging out with her and her band in someone's living room. I would definitely go again next time she's in town!

  • Ingrid Michaelson = Love

Ingrid Michaelson at the Phoenix was definetly a great concert. She proves that she earned her college degree in theatre, since what makes the show SO good is her stage presence. She is cute in a funny way, and funny in a cute way. I absolutely adore her. She really reaches out to connect with the audience, and tells a lot of stories. The atmosphere was amazing, no pushing, no angry fans (which makes perfect sense... Ingrid Michaelson isn't exactly hardcore). She sings beautifully and so does the entire audience, which sometimes tries to sing louder than her and does so! The audience was great, she kept having to turn down her earpiece when we screamed. You know then that she put on a good show. The re-telling of the concert takes just as long as the actual thing, so all I'm going to say now is GO BUY TICKETS TO HER NEXT CONCERTS! And see it yourself!!

  • Talented, charming & genuine

by radiculous on 2010-06-13Phoenix Concert Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Ingrid is a really talented singer songwriter and her songs come to life even more on stage with her awesome personality. She really engages with the audience, drawing you in with her stories and humour. But her talent really comes through as well with great vocals and playing with the band. And she has fun. I loved watching her work with the band and you could see how excited she was for certain parts of the show. Highly recommend catching Ingrid live to anyone who is even a casual fan of her music. She also seems like she would be super fun to hang out with!

  • Ingrid is more that just a singer-songwriter!

by JBarrett on 2010-06-10The Phoenix Concert Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I bought tickets to this concert not sure what to expect, but was excited because I love her music. It was a bonus that the super-talented Matt Morris was opening for her. He did a great set, and seemed genuinely excited to be playing in Canada. This was his first ever Canadian show, so that was fun. Matt sounds fantastic live, and he did a good mix of upbeat songs and then took time to slow it down. I have no words for Ingrid. She was amazing! The set list was taken from all of her albums, and there was a bit of everything. She alternated between ukulele, piano, and full band accompaniment, which was really nice. She also made it seem really intimate; she had several random conversations with audience members, told us some funny stories that she remembered as the night went on, and, of course, sung brilliantly. Some surprising twists... after some audience members took her by surprise and started singing the remix of "The Way I Am" done by the Black Dice, she busted out into a spontaneous performance of "Ice Ice Baby" and the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme. She also covered Radiohead's "Creep" and finished off with a cover of Britney's "Toxic" complete with a dance. I would love to see her again. She's so genuine and has a way of making you feel like you're her friend, sitting down for an intimate performance. It was great! Highly recommend.

Such an amazing show. She's great live! Full of energy, funny, perfect pitch and with a talented band. Also an artist called Matt Morris opened for her, and he sang great. Very sweet voice.

  • Ingrid is AMAZING

by justh8 on 2010-06-08The Phoenix Concert Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Ingrid was absolutely incredible! I've been a fan of hers for about four years now, and this was my first chance to see her live. Not only does she have amazing song writing skills, great cds, and a moving voice, but she is one heck of a live performer. So many artists these days edit their music so much, and are truly lacking in talent. Ingrid is truly talented in so many ways, along with her band mates. It was an absolutely amazing night.

  • Ingrid blew my mind

by music1529 on 2010-06-08The Phoenix Concert Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Ingrid Michaelson's concert was truly a work of art. Her quirky and hilarious personality made the show so entertaining, all her stories and jokes kept the crowd laughing the entire time. Her connection with the audience made the show so enjoyable. Her band was also great, and you had fallen in love with everyone on the stage by the end of the night. Her voice... I don't even know what to say. I listening love every one of her songs, but getting to watch her sing them was so fantastic. She truly blew my MIND.

  • Ingrid is Amazing

The show was so great. Opening act, Matthew Perryman Jones, was great. I'm a big Ingrid Michaelson fan, and this show exceeded my expectations. She and her band were amzing, and funny. Honest and excellent. Venue was alright. It took a long time to get everyone in, and the first act came on pretty late, and I.M. came on really late, which was a little annoying since it wasn't a weekend.
