  • Jason Bonham

    by Frances235 on 2010-10-19MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

I really enjoyed this concert. It was all I expected. I never expected to hear Zeppelin, cause it wasn't Zeppelin, but, they were very good musicians...especially the lead guitarist. Wow...was he incredable. I was lucky enough to see Zeppelin when they played Winnipeg at Man-Pop in Aug. of 1970. I'll never forget it!

  • Jason Bonham- Let's the "Z" out

by Hamsham on 2010-10-19MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

My wife and I went to this event not as huge Zeppelin fan, but rather as a drummer (and wife) with a liking of Led-Zeppelin music and a whole lot of respect for the talent/ingenuity of both John/Jason Bonham. We went with an open mind and not really knowing what to expect though we heard that it was supposed to be a bit of an interactive event (screen and talking) with Led-Zeppelin music. Let me tell you that we were both BLOWN AWAY by the musicianship that we were privileged to witness at this event. Tony Catania (as I later found out his name) was absolutely one of the best guitarists I have seen and believe me I see about 15-25 concerts a year (all the legendary as well as new guitarists). James Dylan's vocals sent shivers up my spine and when I closed my eyes I was back in the 70's at a Zeppelin concert. I truly believe that his voice is more Robert Plant than Robert Plants voice is today. If you have the opportunity to take in this evet DO IT, you will not regret it. Whatever other plans you have when this event comes to your city, drop them and experience what is most likely the closest you will ever get to the real Zeppelin Experience. On a final note, this event has turned a liker of Led-Zeppelin into a lifer for Led-Zeppelin. This show is a MUST SEE for anyone who ever listened to a LED-ZEPPELIN song and thought "this is good".

It is too bad that there was not enough press beforehand for this show. Hopefully it will pick up but everyone I talked to at the show it seemed, just got given tickets and were not that stoked to go...Myself included, I was given tix and went cuz I thought it would be kinda cool. IT BLEW ME AWAY !!! And that's saying alot because I generally heavily critique cover bands... The Drummer in my band and my guitar player are so pissed off that they missed out when I told them how great it was....JASON, come back to Winnipeg and we will fill the arena. It was a really cool tribute to your dad.

  • Bonham is Zeppelin

The sound was so good,I thought I was in the studio when Led Zeppelin was recording this. I wonder if the original Zeppelin members worked or listened to them before touring? Jason obviously loves his father and it shows. There were some technical glithches but this was only their 5th show together.

  • Jason Bonham's LZ: An experience to Remember

by Goldie on 2010-10-19MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 4 out of 5

As our treasured Rock and Roll muscians age and leave this earth;...as we age and hold tighter to our youthful memories...this concert fits the bill to never forget our GREATS! The video and snap shots, the minimal boyhood memories of a father long gone were just enough to set the stage for a great night of entertainment. Jason's story made us realize that Rock and Roll icons are all just people with family, dreams, asperations. This realization made the music even more dear to the heart. The sound, lights, set were more than I expected. The musicians were top notch. And ...oh....to hear those songs live....they are the best songs! Cranked up and in the groove. Two things that could make it better is to have the tron screens in real time (not two seconds behind...it makes for a perculiar feeling when they are out of beat with the music) and of course to have the real thing on stage....well on can dream...

  • Whole Lotta Love felt at MTS Center Tonight

by Dinoeh on 2010-10-19MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

From the beginning of the home movies at the start of the concert (7:30PM sharp) til the last string of "Whole Lotta Love" Jason and his amazing band delivered a fabulous concert. The building was electric with excitement and even Jason's speeches were from the heart. He was a true class act.

Show was awesome. As good as you can get to a Led Zeppellin without having the original members. Would definitly go again.

One thing for sure, Jason can sure play the drums. I thought it was a good idea to share some family moments about his Dad, John. There could have been more of that however. A good show, an excellent cover band 'cause Jason will never be John.

Jason has inherited his Father's talent at the drums! The lead singer and lead guitar were also both very talented - and the group did a remarkable job of performing old Zepplin tunes. Some of the slides / pics in the background were very distracting and not appreciated. I would have enjoyed more pics of John and of the other Zepplin band members. All the best to Jason on this tour!

  • Brought back great memories!

by Northernexposure on 2010-10-19MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 4 out of 5

I grew up in the 70's listening to Led Zeppelin. The complex music of Led Zeppelin is very difficult to play and sing. Jason Bomham and his band were fantastic.

  • Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin was an Experience!

    by cdem72 on 2010-10-19MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 4 out of 5

Musicianship was excellent and vocals were very good. I enjoyed the basist's long hair as it was appropriate for the time period.

Led Zeppelin was one of the most played bands with all of my friends in my teens in the 70's. As ever decade went by you added more bands to your playlist, but from time to time would revert back to LZ. I was very skeptical that Jason would be able to bring back all those wonderful memories of Led Zeppelin, but thank goodness, he came through. The singer had to warm up his voice with the first song and after that he belted them out and did the music behind him justice. Jason was fun to watch and it seemed like he was having fun as well. Lots of good songs, some for the crowd, some not so main stream and for themselves which I liked. I would have been fine not hearing Stairway to Heaven, but they did that for the fans. Great to see young and old together enjoying the timeless music of Led Zeppelin. They were truly ahead of their time.

  • JBLZ Experience was out of this world!!

    by Penelope9 on 2010-10-19MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

I have become a big fan of Led Zeppelin in the last couple of years due to my boyfriend being a fan. Seeing the show on Sunday night has brought my love for the original band to a new height and I give extreme kudos to JBLZ Experience for making me feel like I was seeing the real deal. A must see show!
