The excitement and anticipation leading up to the show was not warranted. I thought the show was extremely repetitive of the tv show and there were no huge laugh suprises. His demeanor was very good and his audience interaction was great. I just thought the dialogue lacked some pop.
Jay Leno was quick to get audience involvement. It made everyone feel very comfortable. My boss was one of the chosen "front row" people. He and his wife were both asked a number of questions and they were on the "big screen". It made the feeling of the venue very intimate. I would love to see Jay Leno again. My wife only wanted to see Jay Leno for her birthday and has asked for this for many years. She has been a faithful fan of Jay's for 17 years and has always wanted to see him in person. This was a great opportunity and it would have been even better if we could have actually met him that evening.
Jay was great..very funny...just like he is on TV. Very happy with his performance but very disappointed and annoyed how people were allowed to file in and disturb everyone for the first half hour of his show. I think when a show is only 90 minutes we should not have get up and down in our seats for the first 30 minutes because others are too rude and stupid to not arrive on time. We actually missed parts of jokes because you couldnt concentrate with people passing in front of you to get to their seats. Casino Rama did nothing when we complained by letter as they said it is the entertainers choice to allow latecomers.
My boyfriend and I planned a trip to Vegas in July. Jay Leno was going to be there the Saturday before we arrived (we were arriving on Monday). I was very disappointed that we were so close to seeing him yet would not be able to. I have always been a big fan of Jay Leno. For some reason I decided to check the Casino Rama website and there he was. My boyfriend and I drove just over two hours each way to see him. His show was great.
I must say I was very disappointed with the Jay Leno show. The jokes he told were dated (made jokes about Sister Act being on VHS), the show was barely 80 minutes, there was no warm up act and he made no reference to being in Canada at all. It was 2 1/2 hrs there and 2 1/2hrs home for me and i was not overly impressed, at no point was i buckled over laughing like i would be watching him on the Tonight Show. It was definately not worth the 150bux it cost me for the two tickets.
My friend & I found Jay to be very entertaining. He seemed to be right at home with the diverse crowd, allotting a little of something for each generation, young & old. His "extended" monologue dealt with current events everyone could relate to and he has an innate "niceness" which makes his humor easy to understand. The timing of his performance at the Venue was also special to his Canadian fans as it followed his last "Tonight Show" Gig by only days, or at least the "air time" of it.
I enjoyed his show....however it was way too short. I expected at least 2 hours...and found that 1.5 hours was too fast! I appreciated the fact that he walked on the stage at 8:01...no waiting around!! He is a star performer....
Jay was funny as always and provided a fast moving and entertaining show.
This is my 2nd time to see Jay at Rama. He is the consummate funny man. There is no need for 'F' bombs or foul language. His routine consisted of family events, political satire, interacting with the audience and pieces of his life. What more can one ask!! I had to stand 3 times from a sore stomach from the laughter. There was no grandstanding or egotism. Just simply, Jay at his best. Bring him back any time and count me in. Cant wait for him to star at 10 PM on NBC in the fall. Unpretentious, down to earth and funnyyyyyyyyy. Cool by me.
He was just as good as you see him on tv as he was live. He thinks of everything and anythign on the spot, was a spectacular show and would definately see him again soon.
This was the second time that we saw Jay Leno, both events at Casino Rama. He was excellent; very quick whit, presents very well fabulous stand-up; we certainly would see him again. Thanks Jay for a wonderful evening.
This was the first time I saw Jay Leno and he was excellent. His show went on for at least 1 1/2 hours and he was very funny and witty throughout. He engaged the audience in the first few rows and of course that was a hit with the entire audience. Jay was a bit more risque than his normal monologue on the Tonight Show and we enjoyed seeing another side of him. All in all, excellent show and I would definitely see him again!
I grew up watching Jay on the television. It was hence a thrilling moment to see him live on the stage. Me and my wife had a wonderful time watching Jay at his best at Casino Rama. There is no one like Jay. We had such a wonderful time.
My husband and I watched Jay Leno every night, I really enjoyed his television show nightly.I was sad that the show ended.
As a longtime fan of Leno, his material was good. My only problem was the focus of his jokes, which unfortuantly were very Americanized. Some jokes that would play well south of the boarder withou question went over the heads of everyone who was sitting around me because of the focus of the jokes. Still, it was fun to watch and the fact that he was on stage for as long as he was, was also a plus. I was afraid it would be a 20-30 minute bit...
Took my son who watches Jay nightly... He loved it. The show was well worth it. This was not the first time I saw Jay and probably not the last.
