    Astounding

by Momak on 2018-04-20Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Visually a masterpiece of how new technologies can enhance a stage performance. Jarre, a pioneer of electronic music, showed us new musical boundaries. He is still at the top! What a sensory extravaganza of great melodies, sound and colour!

    Jarre is a visual dream.

by Eli89 on 2017-06-04Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I grew up listening to JMJ and this experience was everything! The music was epic, the light show and technology used through it blew my mind, I always wanted to see him playing the laser keyboard and there he was, fantastic till the end. It was a visual dream for designers. And his music is ageless.

    electronica at it's finest

by Avalon58 on 2017-06-02Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I was one of the few people at high school, back in the 70's, who followed electronic music. And to this day I still listen to the old recordings by the grandfathers of electronica - Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Kraftwerk, Mike Oldfield, and of course JMJ. Had no idea what to expect, as I haven't been following JMJ at all in the last 30+ years. Was I ever impressed. This guy is a master at his craft and I enjoyed every moment of it. The 2 percussionists made a difference, and rounded out the whole show. Place was packed, and a lot of "youngsters" were there, and enjoying it too. Guess they knew about JMJ, and good for them.

    One of a kind concert

by eRazor on 2017-05-17Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

The concert was absolutely amazing. Jean-Michel Jarre delivered an amazing show in terms of quality of sound and visuals. Very original! It blew me away. His music is so special and unique. It moves you, inspires you, it lifts you. I have no words to describe it. I felt like I was teleported to a different realm. Great experience!!!

    Hypnotique!!

by wellredawg on 2017-05-13Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Wonderfully mesmerizing, dazzling experience. For 'experience' is how I would describe. The technology, music created, lights and rhythms drawing in the audience: absolutely brilliant. To see and hear and 'feel' the creativity of JM Jarre was magical and freeing! I chatted with several who know and have followed Jean-MIchel's music for decades, some enjoying live performances (e.g. in Brussels), others beside me who love synthesizers and have their own facility with the technology that enhanced the evening in T.O. for them. I was curious to see how the show would have been 'mounted' considering the pyrotechics that are usually a part of each staging. Considering the 'contained' environment at Sony Centre for the Arts in T.O., I was still absolutely drawn into the entire performance. I enjoyed the build up and then full on with the show. Jean Michel's 'working' the audience drew us all in. Wonderful evening. Welcome to Canada!!

it is exactly as you would imagine a concert by him to be, only better. crystal clear sound, with a laser light show to die for, playing everything from oxygene,to zoolook,to tracks of the latest disc (pet shop boys, for example). the whole package ! audio and video dream show.

    Almost a great show!

by L3man on 2017-05-12Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

JMJ was awesome! It was a personal dream of mine to see him live and that dream came through. The sound, lights and energy were great and it's great to see that someone who is 68 year old is still enjoying what they are doing and their energy came through! A good set of old and new stuff. I was delighted. The only unfortunate thing of the concert was the opening act. No introduction... At first most people thought that it was JMJ until we realized that was an opening act. It was OK but there was no notice of an opening act. Fortunately, JMJ mentioned the act somewhere in the middle of the show.

    Jaw-Droppingly Amazing Show!

by Doggiez on 2017-05-12Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I have been a fan of Jean-Michel Jarre for decades, and was shocked when I saw he was coming to Toronto, since his shows are usually massive events. Going to the concert with two friends who appreciate his music as much as I do, it was literally one of the best shows I have ever seen! The only thing surpassing the lights, lasers, and other effects was Mr. Jarre himself: if I have that much energy -- at 68, no less - to be jumping around on stage like a 20-year-old at a rave, I will be eternally grateful. Needless to say, please come back to Toronto!

    Great show long time comming

by Magelan on 2017-05-12Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Have been a passive fan for years and always enjoying his music selectively I was really impressed. All ting were spectacular, Lights/lazers, Lazer Harp, all was great. What impressed me most was how personable and engaging Jean-Michel was, a real pleasure to be there. Can wait until he comes back and does an outdoor stadium show, the show is suited to a much larger spectacle.

    10 out of 10

by Squarehead on 2017-05-12Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

As a 52 year old music fan and frequent concert goer I thought I had seen it all but JMJ took it to the next stratosphere and left me speechless. Easily one of the best shows I've ever witnessed. It's no wonder he holds the world record for the largest concert ever (3.5 Million people). Fortunately for me I got to see him with 3000 other lucky folk!! Jean-Michel Jarre is the ultimate live performer judging by his concert in Toronto on May 9th, 2017. As a long time fan listening to his music since the age of 11, I wasn't sure in which direction he would take his show but if I was to sum it up in a nutshell I would say that he pretty well covers every genre of electronic music in one set and who new that he played guitar? The sound at the Sony Centre was impeccable, at least from where I was sitting which was the top balcony, last row, dead centre. This also made for an amazing vantage point for the spectacular light/laser show that constantly shape shifted, at times looked 3D and changed throughout the almost 2 hour performance, never repeating itself. It was a synth lovers delight, especially when he invited us 'into his kitchen' and played with glasses that included a mini camera, so you could witness his performance in real time from his view point, constantly moving from synth to controller to synth. For a man who is 69 years old he has the energy and stamina of someone half his age! He stepped out to the front of the stage several times to engage the audience and to play his keytar and famous laser harp which was spectacular in itself.
