Jenny Don't and the Spurs Live in Concert
Jenny Don't and the Spurs started out in Portland, Oregon, in 2012. At first, the band consisted of just Jenny on guitar and vocals alongside her then partner, now husband, Kelly Halliburton on bass. The pair were quickly joined by their friend Sam Henry, on drums. After a year and a half of local shows, the group added in their fourth member when guitarist Christopher March joined the band in 2017. Henry passed away in 2022 and, after dedicating the final decade of his life to the band, his bandmates decided to carry on in his honor. While playing music inspired by country legends, the band's roots are in punk rock. When asked about their punk rock past in an interview with Under the Radar, Halliburton responded that their current work with Jenny Don't and the Spurs is a continuation of it. "I may have traded my studs for rhinestones these days, but I still bash away the way I always did!" In that same interview, Halliburton emphasized that the '50s/'60s country music that inspires them pulled from a similar place of passion and frustration to punk rock. Jenny Don't and the Spurs maintain more than 16,000 monthly listeners on Spotify with some of their most popular tracks being "Santa, Please Bring Him Home" and "Call of the Road," which combined have more than 180,000 streams.
