LOVED THE INTIMATE VENUE. THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THE EVENING AND THE ENSAMBLE THAT WAS PRESENTED ....GUEST APPEARANCES FROM SOUTH AMERICA.
This was the third time that I have been to a Jesse Cook concert, and I hope to be attending many more in the future. He is a great entertainer and guitarist. His performances provide an audience with an experience that is captivating and I especially appreciate how he addresses the audience with suggestions for song titles, or stories about himself. He enjoys his audience as much as we enjoy his music.
We've gone to three of Jesse Cook's concerts now, and we will go again. His music is subtlely changing with various international influences, but what's constant is his casual, open and creative manner on stage. I think the CD that he recorded live at the Montreal Jazz Festival captures some of both, but it's hard to beat a live concert, and the invitation to get up and dance. Ultimately, it's about the music, which in our opinion is fantastic. The talented Cuban & Brazilian percussonists, Chris Church is a genius, and then there is Jesse's amazing work on the guitar.
We had seen Jesse Cook 5 times previous over the years since the early part of his career. This concert at the studio theater in Hamilton Place was a special treat because it was the smallest venue. It was really almost up close and personal. He continually seeks out cultural rhthyms and always amazes us. The Cuban and South American influence was a real bonus this time. It was my mom's first time seeing him and she was speechless; she has never seen anything like it. Jesse is personable with his guests and band members and likewise with the audience. So glad he is Canadian and very proud. It was a concert wherein he wanted to try out a set and guests etc since they were invited to the Montreal Jazz festival thus the largest guest list he's ever done. Remarkable show. I can't imagine anyone having never seen him once; they don't know what they are missing. By far his best concert yet for sure! My mom couldn't believe how long they played.
Have been a fan of Jesse Cook's for years and have enjoyed watching his music DVD's but to see him live was fantastic. He has amazing charisma and connection with his audience and a very warm comfortable manner, a great sense of humour. He is just an unbelievably accomplished musician and one of the best guitarists of his time. The accompanying musicians bring out all their different cultures and backgrounds on stage with such great talent. It was an unforgettable performance.
OUT OF THIS WORLD, BY FAR THE BEST CONCERT AND A GREAT ENTERTAINER!!!!!!!!
Jesse's show was amazing! He is so inspiring to listen to. You can hear the diversity in his music and how he is able to mesh various musical cultural influences together to make his own unique style. Jesse, along with his excellent band members, have the ability to take us on a musical journey. Thank you Jesse for a wonderful evening and for taking us on your ride!
The concert venue was intimate and personal. The music was fabulous. It was the best Jesse Cooke show that we have attended and we have been to lots. It started with the Jesse Cooke band playing at Gage Park in Hamilton many years ago. He is truly a team player that tries to promote others. We enjoy his different influences and the cuban influence was great. Thanks for a wonderful evening in my life.
This was at Studio Theater Hamilton Place so the event only held 500 or so. It was kind of an Up close and Personal with him and all the amazing musicians. The drummer/percussionist is probably the best rhythm I have ever seen and what was really cool is that his dad(from Cuba) was brought on stage and had a little drum off. I have seen Jesse twice before at Hamilton Place and they are all awesome, however this was absolutely BRILLIANT
The Studio at Hamilton Place was an amazing venue for this concert. The music was inspiring and the crowd had a blast. What a great way to start the summer!
Outstanding performance, good mix with new (Rhamba) and lots of classic Jesse Cook material. The only negative was there were so many people jammed into The Studio, if you cam on time the seats were horrible and there was almost no dancing area. Still a positive and fun night.
the venue was great - small and intimate. the music was amazing - a lot of good old and new. jesse was fun - a lot of personality from him and the other band members. overall - wonderful!
