This show was a delightful surprise. An intimate venue with Joel alone on the stage telling stories, showing pictures and performing - perfection! It was a great evening.
This show was absolutely charming. A lovely combination of new music, older favourites accompanied by many heartwarming tales and photographs that made us feel like we were catching up with an old friend. I just loved it.
Joel was beyond amazing. His incorporation of ambience with vintage feel looking through a window of time while rocking in a beauty of a vintage chair next to a soft lite camp lamp had me hooked. He eased us in beautifully from cold to hot media. Absolutely brilliant. Accompanying his musicians through a video was damn near perfection. Joel is a master musician and story teller. I felt home in 90’s Halifax while in Montreal. Who can do this ? Joel did. Thank-you Joel
Was on a vacation in Montreal and happened to see that Plaskett was playing that night at Le Studio TD on rue Saint-Catherine. Snapped up a ticket and was not disappointed. Like sitting down with a photo album from the most talented and charismatic family friend as he tells stories and accompanies it on a variety of string instruments.
What a great show! Loved seeing Mo and Joel play the whole show together- but my only complaint was not getting to hear a bit more from Mo Kenny. Great atmosphere being at the Park- really loved the reno's they did! Joel is a consumate story teller and between the music and the stories there wasn't a moment i could risk missing! Worth every minute of the 3yr wait it took to finally get to see this show.
An amazing return to live music. Joel remains one of Canada’s best storytellers.
Bill and Joel performing together again was a real treat. Their energy is incredible and the two share a special bond that can be seen and heard.
Amazing show!! Very low key but full of fantastic musicianship. Joel shows are never bad. Go if you get the chance.
I could not have asked for a better musical experience. The combination of Joel Plaskett's wonderful storytelling/vocals/guitar backed by the amazing collective sound of the Calgary Philharmonic was a musical journey that will be hard to beat. I have been at countless concerts over the years and I would rate this one 10/10. Bravo Joel & Bravo Calgary Philharmonic!!
