  • incredible concert

This sold out Steppenwolf concert was not one to miss. Unlike many of the groups from decades past Steppenwolf has remained relevant. Both the style of the music and delivery are above standard. Had you not known who this band was and could only see from a distance the figure of John Kay on stage - he'd appear no different than someone in their 30's. The man is incredibly fit (as mentioned, unlike many of the returning rock stars) and his voice is just as powerful and dead on key ( which the band has not had to adjust from my telling). John is also a good spokesman - able to chat with the audience providing sometimes additional history to the music and occasionally making some great comical comments. He's a humble individual - I would detect no overblown ego. He was appreciative of the audience and the band - it all just worked so well. I believe I read some time ago that he and his wife travel to do charity work. I applaud him for this and am inspired to do something myself. The band rocked - a good length of performance which included material from a pretty vast catalogue of tunes as the band has never stopped recording.

I saw Stepphen Wolf 35 plus years ago in Peterborough. They have not changed at all. John Kay has worked hard to keep his voice and body in great shape for his mature age. May he have many more years of rocking the Greatest Generation.

  • Good but not great

It almost seemed like the musicians hadn't been playing with one another for long - they were disjointed, not in harmony - but John Kay was good.
