John Mellencamp Tickets

John sounded great! The concert could have been a little longer though :( another 3 to 5 songs is more of what was expected for the price.

John was amazing - I sure love when he gets the audience to participate - when they talk to the audience - Makes me feel special and that his fans do mean something - As for the venue at the Rama - 1-1/2 hrs the concert was- no encores- boy Rama makes stupid decisions on their behalf just so ppl can gamble and spend money - John Melloncamp was on my bucket list - im happy VERY HAPPY to now cross that off - thank you John for all the wonderfull music you put out - they have touched many people me for one - TC

the music was fantastic - the driving rock sound was accentuated by excellent guitar and violin solos and of course Mellencamp's body of music is exceptional. I loved every minute of it. After playing about 15 songs ish he stopped. I thought he was taking an intermission, but the concert was over. After driving for 2 hours from Mississauga to listen to less than 90 minutes of music, I was disappointed. Ray Davies said 'give the people what they want' - well, I didn't get what I wanted - more music - so I would rate the concert as average In spite of the excellent music, I was disappointed. -

John's performacne was awesome, high energy and very personal. Of course John is now older like the rest of us, and in turn his voice seems to have taken on a deeper tone, making him even more sexier!!! A good mixture of old and new songs. The energy in the venue was electric.I would see him again without hesitation and will probably download some of his newer songs. What didn't I like.. ..I paid $120.00 for a ticket, of which the concert lasted 1-1/2 hours..I don't know if I would see him again based on the ticket price....hence the 4 star instead of 5... Great concert... Was very entertained only a little disappointed as John did not sing Hurt So Good one of his classics....

I am a big John Mellencamp fan and have seen him previously in concert. He was in top form last night and when he did Cherry Bomb a capella the audience (sold out) was memurized. My ONLY complaint is his show was not even 1 and a half hour!!! Previous shows were well over 2 hours. Given that John Mellencamp has branded himself as the last of the true Americans and being anti-corporate I never expected to feel cheated by him. The show last night, while great, was strictly a paycheque for him.

The strength of John Mellancamp's play list is also his curse; as he pointed out during the show he is releasing his 25th disc. This means that his catalogue is quite wide ranging and diverse, veering from the classic rock sounds to roots music. Hence, the effect that this has on a show depends on the knowledge of the fan base attending. The Wednesday concert was sold out, but the Rama venue, in my opinion, does not lend itself to much atmosphere, and at times artists suffer from this. Some in attendance are not fans of the artist but receive comp tickets from the Casino because of their gambling habits, and you have this odd situation where some people stay for one or two numbers and then leave. The venue also does not lend itself to the crowd being able to fully embrace the moment of the artist with the result that the crowd can be somewhat subdued, sitting as opposed to "grooving with the music". So, long winded preamble to a review: John mixed it up, playing some old hits, some new songs, and some lesser known songs from his catalogue. The crowd responded well to the old songs and one of his new releases (an accoustical rendering of "It's a Wonderful Life" Mellancamp style). His band was tight with the lead guitarist letting loose on numbers like Check it Out and the Authority song, the bassist thumped it hard, the drummer pounded the skins and there was interplay between the accordian player and violin player. John admitted that the voice has waned over the years commenting that the young Johnny Cougar didn't give a rat's ass (or words to that effect) to the older John Mellancamp, but to this listener he still brought his "A" game. The lack of any real atmosphere however resulted in a "two and out"; play a tight set, one song encore and out. This is likely somewhat due to the Rama people wanting people to file out and drop their dollars in the slots as opposed to rocking for any longer time. A small criticism really but I hope Mellancamp enjoyed the show himself despite a lack of audience participation at times (the crowd did ramp it up for Jack and Dianne) and I felt that he was enjoying it. This is the first Mellancamp concert I have been too, and given that I am a huge Bruce fan with unreasonable expectations about concert length from that experience, I give the concert four stars. Tempting to go back tonight to see if the song list differs.

As prer all Rama shows, too short. Bass drum was too loud in the upper mess. Great voice and entertainer, new songs are really good though there seems to be a little bit of an obsession with the afterlife.

Although he sounded great, we were extremely disappointed that after paying over $250.00 for seats he played for exactly 1 hour and 15 minutes. Will not be going to see Mr. Mellencamp in the future.

First time at a mellencamp concert.........what can I say...........he didn't disappoint us. All the hits you want to hear mixed with some of the new digs that you'll love. The drummer is fabulous............ Mellencamp is a one of a kind performer, great music, great energy, great lyrics. Well worth the money to travel to see this guy live...........I absolutely loved it.

John Mellencamp was at his finest. Even his newest stuff didn't disapoint anyone. My friend and I noticed a lot of his songs were about dying though, but that was okay. It freaked my friend out a bit though since it was her birthday! The only disapointment was that the show was only an hour and a half- we thought he may go 2 hours, but he does have another show the next night. We were really impressed with the sound- not too loud, but just right.

I have been a John Cougar fan for 30 yrs. He has a lot of excellent material. He played some of it at Casino Rama, however I was disappointed at how short his performance was. He could have easily filled another hour with exciting music. The show was much to costly for the performance.

This guy is fabulous!! We loved the concert. He did lots of the old great ones and a few new to boot. He's as good as he has ever been!! The band was really good. The female violinist was the most amazing we have ever seen...SHE'S got talent!! This is the music of our lives...we will always be fans of John Cougar Mellencamp!! If he comes again...we will see him!! His tunes are still playing in our heads today. Love him, love him, love him!! John Mellencamp rocked Rama!!

Great show but way too short. just under 1 1/2 hrs.

He is still rockin' hot!! Really belts em out. The band and instuments gave me chills but he also did awesome solos without the band. He involves the audience, tells stories and a few laughs. I was dancing in my seat!!! And the new CD previews were impressive and will definitely be in my collection when it comes out next month. But I do have to add, he only played for 1 hr 15 mins.

WOW!!!!!! He still has it. Wish the show was longer!!! Like the words to his new songs but why are the all on dying?????????? Hope John it OK!!!!!

John Mellencamp and his band rocked the night at Rama but what a disappointment when they left the stage after playing for only 70 minutes! After paying the top ticket price, I certainly didn't feel like I received my monies worth. I paid the same dollar amount for Elton John and he played for nearly three hours! Mellencamp's voice was spot on -- like I was listening to one of his CDS but everyone was stunned when they left the stage.

Great live sound, true to CD quality vocals, a variety of songs, but all the BIG hits - great show, wish he had played longer, 1.25 hours isn't even more than 1 way driving time!
