  • john pizzarellia and nikki yanofsky - soooooo good

by truebeliever on 2010-07-07Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I went for nikki (only having discovered her music during the olympics), but john pizzarelli was unbelievable too. I've had never been into jazz... but now I know what I've been missing. Both performers were awsome... it was an evening of great music.

  • Two great talents on one stage

    by 6262 on 2010-07-05Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best concerts I have ever attended. Two contrasting styles that complement a great show. Not to be missed. I hope they come back every year.

  • Joh & Nikki were fab!

We enjoyed the event immensely. John Pizzarelli and his band were very entertaining. Nikki Yanofsky was captivating! Just think she is only 19 years old. She will be unstoppable and what a treat to just watch her grow.

It was a great night to be introduced to John Pizzarelli whose guitar playing is spectacular and whose gin-smokey voice is pitch perfect! Nikki is a phenom and definitely should be on everyone's radar. Her voice, range, musical stylings are truly amazing. Whatever will she do when she is 21??

The performance was amazing! John Pizzarelli was great and so was Nokki Janofski - great talent!

  • Pizzarelli-Yanofsky

by Polumbo on 2010-07-04Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

I enjoyed the show. The young lady had an engaging personality and obvious talent but the sound engineer and or the music director did a diservice to her voice particularly in the early part of her presentation- did they do a sound check on her voice. It came across very shrill!

  • Pizzarelli and Yanofsky are fantastic together

by globall on 2010-07-04Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

The combined perforamances of both these great artists was fantastic but when the two combined, it was simply the best. John comes from such a well know music famly and as Canadians, we have a new treasure in Nikki.

what a talent in both artists. John was so pleasant and his group were superb, each one of them. The Nikki was such a talent and what a voice!! She will go far. the theatre was n ot full which was a dissapointment, but those who were there really loved the show

  • Incredible Evening

    by Billyfan01 on 2010-07-04Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I was completely blown away by this concert - I assumed Nikki would be opening for John Pizzarelli (who I absolutely adore!) but lo & behold, HE was the opening act & SHE was the headliner! Not bad for a 16-year old gal.... I was fortunate enough to be sitting in the very first row, right in the center, so I was about 5 or 6 feet away from the performers - what a rush! John was great as usual, but Nikki was absolutely fabulous - what a voice, what a talent - she is definitely channeling Ella, especially with her scat singing...I saw her when she was last here at the JazzFest (the other performer on that double bill was Michael Kaeshammer) and thought she was incredible then, but now, just a short time later, she has really matured, She will only get even better as time goes on! It was a nice touch when Nikki invited John back on stage during her set so they could perform together - Wish they had done more than just one song - they really clicked! I was grinning from ear to ear during the entire concert - the most fun I've had in a long time....Worth every penny I spent to sit that close!

  • Nikki great, skip pizzarelli

by DRmc on 2010-07-04Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

Nikki has a great voice and really shows it off on the jazz tunes. pizzzarelli is only for the older crowd they ate it up, he was very middle of the road
