  • Johnny Reid was amazing!

this was one of the best concerts I have ever been to and I've been to a lot, from the first song all the way through, he entertained and gave 150% to the audience. cannot believe how fantastic it was. I saw him at Big Valley but even that pales in comparision to this concert.

Johnny Reid is a fantastic entertainer. He touches your heart with his stories and lyrics and connects with the audience like no other entertainer I have ever seen.

  • Johnny come back soon!!

by MsKitty on 2010-09-19Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen many performances....but Johnny was by far the BEST!! His opening act only performed for 30mins. which was long enough, cause we were there to see Johnny....and he gave you a GOOD long performance. I've been to concerts where the opening act played for over an hour, and the performer you went to see only played for 30 mins. Johnny gives you what you came to see, and that is him sing his songs and tell his stories. He sings with such deep emotion and power. The stories behind the songs bring out the true meaning and almost everyone can relate. He not only has great songs, he's got some good Rhythm. The band is amazing, such talent! He's a very giving man, the way he helps the local children with his donations from the teddy bear sales, is very inspirational - simply classy!! Johnny interacts with the audience, brings children up on stage....you can see that he's a down to earth kinda guy and is absolutely real-Nothing phony about him. When you leave the performance, you are uplifted and feel so good about yourself and those around you. I just can't get enough of this guy.....I listen to his music all the time. For anyone who has not heard him or heard of him (close your eyes and listen, you will think you are listening to Rod Stewart - but only the voice). Thank you so much Johnny for being you and for being such an honest man and giving a great performance. Keep the songs coming and remember to get back to Edmonton as soon as you can!!

  • Breathtaking

by NoahsMom on 2010-09-19Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

I had seen Johnny Reid last time he was in Edmonton and was blown away by the concert and his stage presence, so I attended this concert with very high expectations. I was NOT disappointed. Once again, I was in awe of the man, his talent and his ability to connect with the audience. I was with three f'irst timers' and we all agreed that it felt as though he was singing directly to us. I have not felt that at a concert since I saw him last. I was impressed by how he left the stage and took a circle around the Jubilee Auditorium to allow his fans to see him up close and personal. It is by doing this that he created a real connection to the audience. I also enjoyed the interaction with the younger audience. Inviting children on to the stage at two different times during the performance gave him an "approachable" feel and humanized the performer on stage. He also won my heart by graciously accepting a teddy bear from an audience member and seemed genuinely touched and almost teary when he accepted the gift and talked about his "wee baby girl". Through this I'm sure the whole audience felt as though we knew him personally. As expected the performance was amazing, the back up singers and band were great. Johnny's voice was superb - all raspy and sexy! My only complaint is that, at times the background music was a little loud and seemed to drown out his voice . They should also tone down the background music when he is speaking to the crowd. The music interferes with his accent and we found it difficult to hear some of what he was sharing with the crowd. That's a shame because he is well spoken and witty. I loved hearing his old, familiar favorites, and I loved the new song about his Grandmother Margaret and the one about his father's "working mans hands". Both of these songs touched a personal chord with me and thery are now ranked right up there as personal favorites. Would I reccomend seeig Johnny Reid in concert? Absolutely, without hesitation. He is worth the price of admission and then some. As my Mom said, she "hasn't felt this way about a singer since Elvis." Now that says a LOT!

We thought the concert was amazing. Best concert that I have seen in quite sometime. We found him to be so sincere and grateful and willing to give the audience their money's worth. So energetic!

  • Johnny Reid- A True Showman

by DJD2 on 2010-09-19Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

From the minute Johnny Reid walked out on stage, he held the audience captivated with his voice, showmanship and genuine appreciation for the people who went to his concert. From the opening number through to the final note, the audience was entertained with his humour, musical background and personal side throughout the entire evening. Combining his older songs, with some of his newer album selections, this made a great night to remember. He was a true showman tonight and I hope he will be back in Edmonton soon.

  • Johnny was magnificent

by weebear on 2010-09-19Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

The opening act was good. Johnny was very down to earth and interacted with his audience. He made you feel that he was glad you came to see him and he appreciated it. This was demonstrated in his opening song when he came out into the audience all the way up to the first balcany stopping for pictures and especially with the children. He had no problem with fans taking pictures and when possible even posed for them. The band members were terrific. In all it was a terrific show and well worth the money.

I just loved him!! I thought he was so so humble and related to the songs as if he were singing them to me.Even though we had back row seats he always made sure that we knew he saw us but then how could he not with our glo sticks waving back and forth. I just love and I think I;m in love with him. Too bad we're both married lol lol

  • Johnny Reid - Sooooo Great!!!

Such a great persona. He comes across as though he is sending you a personal message and is really sincere when he sings. He does not really fit into any one category as he sings every genre as though it were where he belongs! So very personable and approachable, too!

The show was awesome for songs and lights. Johnny is a true showman and he interacts with his audience both directly (shaking hands taking photos ect. and as a whole) By far the best concert I have attended and not just for country fans

I had heard Johnny put on a good show, and even if you weren't the biggest fan you would have a great time. Understatement... love his music and the show was phenomenal! Connected with the audience from the outset and it just got better and better. He sounds like a very humble and grateful artist who is truly thankful for his fan base and support. I would put his concert on my top five list ....ever..... and I've seen some pretty big names over the years! You truly knocked my socks off!

  • Amazing person and performer

by Champ52 on 2010-09-19Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

I attended all four shows that Johnny put off in Edmonton. This was the best show by far although Johnny always puts off a wonderful show. This one, however, helped us to get to know Johnny better. To see that not only is he a fantastic singer, song writer and performer but also a wonderful man, father and husband. A person who truly cares about people. Cheers to you Johnny. I have been a member of the Tartan Army for almost 3 years and will never miss any of your shows. To those who have never had the priviledge to see Johnny yet..................you are missing out on a wonderful evening.

  • Johnny Reid

by Havanese on 2010-09-19Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was incredible and my friend and I enjoyed it immensely. He is so personable and really connects with the audience; both when he is singing, and telling stories about his family and the band members. I was impressed as well with the fact that although he now lives in the US, his band members are all from Canada which is where he got his start. This meant a lot to me.
