  • Amazing

Johnny Ried is an amazing entertainer - I enjoyed how he explained how he wrote his songs, how his ideas came to him, his love for family & fans - he is sincere and truely grateful. - Had a wonderful time and the Jubilee as always amazing.

Excellent performer; great voice. Unfortunately it was wasted at the Jubilee auditiorium. The sound system seemed to be set up for an arena venue. The great aoustics at the Jub were wasted. Far too loud. On some songs the sound was so distorted words could not be understood. It seemed Reids mic was not working properly. On the quieter numbers it was much better. Also, the musicians seemed to overpower Reids vocals. It was a good enough performance though that I will give him another chance at a concert and hopefully they will have the technicalities fixed.

  • ABSOLUTELY AWESOME

by Tibbey on 2010-09-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT I HAVE SEEN JOHNNY REID PERFORM AND IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. I TOOK MY 5 YR OLD DAUGHTER TO IT AND SHE WAS JUST AWESTRUCK OVER HIM. SHE HAS ALWAYS LIKED HIS MUSIC , BUT NOW AFTER SEEING HIM IN CONCERT, SHE THINKS HE IS THE BEST THING SINCE SLICE BREAD. LOL I HAVE SEEN ALOT OF OTHER SINGERS SUCH AS BROOKS AND DUNN, KEITH URBAN AND SO FORTH AND I THINK THAT JOHNNY'S CONCERTS HAVE BEEN BETTER, THEY ARE MORE INTIMATE AND YOU FEEL LIKE HE IS SINGING JUST TO YOU. I WILL DEFINITELY GO TO SEE HIM AGAIN AND AGAIN.

  • A Truly Great Entertainer

by Magoo1 on 2010-09-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

I was very fortunate to attend the first of 4 sold out shows by Johnny Reid. He is an amazingly humble person, very open about who he is and where he and his songs come from. The energy he puts out is given back by the affection of his crowd which is a great variety of generations, young children to elderly seniors all truly appreciate the honesty of the lyrics and the great rhythm/beat of the music. During the song, "Change the world" he came over and shook my son's hand - and then after a rousing request for an on chore, Mr. Reid came over and took my son on stage with him - WOW, was all I could muster. What a great experience/memory for my son and I. I try to explain the fascination to my husband by saying he is like a new version of Conway Twitty - he knows what gets to the heart of people and isn't afraid to be the one to reach out there and feel the emotions. I was so impressed, as I suspected I would be, that I am going to see him again in Grande Prairie on October 7th with all my family, whom I have told to be prepared to be excited and moved.

I think that he should do a Blues album. He has the fantastic voice for it. AND, he should come to our Blues Festival here in Edmonton Alberta one August. Love him. What a sweetheart he is!

Johnny Reid was the best performer that I have seen in a very long time. He kept me and the audience wanting more. He sang each song with absolute conviction of who he is. He stirred emotions and had everyone up and moving! Great show - so glad I was one of the lucky people to attend. Thank you Johnny!

Johnny was incredible. He played to the audience and kept us all entertained. Started a bit late so many of the attendees were restless but once he got on most was forgiven. His voice is outstanding and he truly appears to care about his fans. I'd see him again and again Love his music and his style.

Concert was good over all. Found it very loud at times and the band over powered his voice. It was are to hear him sing at times. Johnny need bigger sizes for his lady t-shirts, unisex shirts are not for everyone. Plus more help at his stand would be helpful.

  • Extreme volume from Bass ruined whole show

by Melodylady on 2010-08-08Enmax Centrium - Red DeerRating: 1 out of 5

I liked Johnny Reid until at the Westerner. The volume was unbearable and ruined the whole show. There is some wonderful talent there, but the bass needs to be 25% volume. The Westerner could not handle the traffic. We were in line for 1 hour and 15 minutes to get through the gate. If theWesterner cannot handle the people, they should not have shows there. I will never go to a show there at fairtime ever again.

  • Johnny Reid was awesome

    by MA99 on 2010-07-29Enmax Centrium - Red DeerRating: 4 out of 5

i really enjoyed Johnny Reid he san awesome and his band was great too. My only issue was that they only played for about 1 hour and a half I am used to a couple hours and i would have liked to see more. Also something was not rigth with the sound and sometimes when a band member was soloing you could not hear the instrument at first.
