About

Katy Perry is a globally renowned pop artist and 13-time Grammy nominee. She began her music career as a gospel singer before making her pop debut in 2008 with One of the Boys. The album peaked in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 and spawned Perry’s first No. 1 hit with the Grammy-nominated "I Kissed a Girl." Perry quickly skyrocketed to pop icon status, achieving unprecedented success with her 2010 album Teenage Dream, which hit No. 1 and earned a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year. The album also produced five consecutive No. 1 singles with “California Gurls” (featuring Snoop Dogg), “Teenage Dream,” “Firework,” “E.T.” (featuring Kanye West) and “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).” In 2017, Perry made history by becoming the first artist to earn three RIAA Diamond Song Awards for “Firework,” “Dark Horse” and “Roar.” Perry now has seven diamond-certified titles. Her distinctive style, blending provocative lyrics with catchy pop melodies, has made her one of the best-selling music artists in history, with over 70 million albums sold worldwide. Beyond music, Perry has expanded her career into television, serving as a judge on “American Idol,” released her own fragrance with Killer Queen and was the subject of the 2012 documentary Katy Perry: Part of Me. In 2024, Perry released her seventh studio album, 143, which features the lead single “WOMAN’S WORLD."

  • Great live singing and entertaining

by CherryChapstick on 2009-08-04Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

I had a lot of fun at the concert. Great to hear her sing live - unlike the Brittney Spears concert that I attended in Toronto (what a waste of money). I paid approximately $25 for the Katy Perry concert - 400 section at the Molson Amphitheatre. Katy was a great singer and I was impressed that she could play the guitar! There's real talent there! She has to work on her entertaining - some ackward dancing ... but overall it was a very fun concert! Good times :)

  • Katy Perry is a crazy fun girl!

Katy Perry is a ball of energy...she is funny and just plain nuts...she certainly keeps her crowd entertained the entire time she is on stage...

  • Katy Perry Concert @ MA Was Awesome !!!

    by ApplePie09 on 2009-07-31Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

From the stage set to the performace, everything was just great! I liked how the way the set was organized really matched and showed Katy's style and that's what makes her so unique. From the pink flamingos to the inflated strawberries and the oversized chapstick, I thought everything was just so great, extraordinary and something that will be imprinted in your mind and you won't forget. I thought her singing live was great and her energy and vibe really kept the audience alert and going. Overall, I thought the performance was just FANTASTIC!! GO KATY PERRY!!! I LOVE YOU <3

  • Hot and Cold, But Mostly Hot

by heya on 2009-07-30Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Overall I had a great time at this concert. Katy is cute and lots of fun live. Everyone was dancing in their seats and singing along, despite the rain storm going on. The New Cities didn't really seem to fit well with Katy's music so the beginning was a bit of a bummer but the second opening band, The Stereos had great energy on the stage and had quite a bit of the crowd up on their feet.

  • katy's energy surpasses expectation

I knew that this was going to be one of her first large venue shows and was pleasantly suprised by her energy and interaction with the crowd. The girl in the front row that got to make out with her, and the girl that got a guitar were probably very impressed as well !

There are some pretty bad videos of Katy Perry live out there. At the Molson Aplitheatre she brought her A Game. Not only did she sing every song on her album, she also performed a couple covers. The stage was very beautiful with inflatable straberries, giant flamingos and a white picket fence. When she talked to the crowd in between songs, she actually made us feel special and made it seem like Toronto was her favourite city. She included stories about a Canadian Ex-boyfriend as well as some other interesting tales.

  • An awesome night with Katy Perry.

    by Hadrian2000 on 2009-07-29Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I wasn't sure what to expect as this was reported to be her first show in a larger venue. She handled it all with flying colors. I was impressed by her voice and her interaction with the crowd. It always makes the show much more enjoyable when the artist appears to be having as much fun as the fans. I traveled to Toronto from Vancouver Island for this show and it was worth every penny.

  • Katy Perry Is Amazing!! :)

Katy Perry Brings Soo Much Energy To The Stage, She Is A GREAT Performer I Would Love To See Her Perform Again!

  • So much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by carebeargirl on 2009-07-29Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This is absolutely one of my favorite concerts. You could tell Katy was having fun up there on stage, and that made it all the more fun for me. Whether I was sitting or standing, I danced the whole time. Katy was all over the stage, loved the fact that she didnt jsut stand in one place and sing. From the first song, until the last song I was singing along. Katy is one artist I would see live time and time again.

  • katy perry was freaking awesome

  • Full of Energy!

    by lits963 on 2009-07-29Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

I definitely had fun at this concert! I was on the floor which was definitely the place to be! The New Cities: I had seen them the previous day at Beat Rocks the Block in Kitchener, however, I still enjoyed them =) Stereos: Again, I saw them on Saturday, but they still managed to keep me excited. Katy Perry: One of the best entertainers I've seen live. Vocals were alright, but she knew how to get the crowd pumped up. I also loved how she would sing a couple of songs that everyone didn't know, and then preform one of her singles instead of doing them all at the beginning or end. I would recommend a Katy Perry concert to anyone that just wants to go out and have fun.

  • katy perry = amazing

by valerieee on 2009-07-28Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

i went to see katy perry sunday july 26th and it was amazing. She had a great voice live and was very entertaining with the what she was saying to the audience and all the decorations. The only downfall is that she only has one record out.

  • Katy is motivated

  • Katy Perry Is Worth Seeing Live...Again!!!

by alanisized on 2009-07-28Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Katy Perry was freakin' great live...very gracious, entertaining and displayed her charming sense of humor. I WILL go see her again without a doubt!!! My only disappointment was that it was over too soon. Your definitely worth every penny i've ever spent on you Katy, please keep rockin'.

  • Katy Perry ROCKED!

by MidnightsMuse on 2009-07-28Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The shear amount of energy that she brings to her show is mind-blowing! She really tries to connect with the crowd and she puts all her heart into each song, each movement, each second. As she pours herself into each note she's not staring off at some imaginary point in the sky, she's looking directly at various members of the audience, trying to give of herself as much as she can. She was amazing and I'd go to every concert she plays at if I could!

  • Somewhat disappointed

    by LAS0122 on 2009-07-28Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

We had to wait 2 hours and 15 min. for her to perform.... This REALLY took away from my first impression... If I was a performer, I could never justify having two start up bands play for 2 hours prior to my show - that is, if I wanted my fans to come back next year to see me. Katy's performance was good overall - I enjoyed the fact that she spoke to the audience between every song which added to the audience-performer connection. She also sounds very good live - fantastic voice.
